Loop 4 - Part 1
Crack. The pinecone shatters beneath you. This time, the panic fades quickly. Despite your past iteration's failure to explore Lofted Ether, the memory of discovering an ancient Saurian civilization is enough to console you. You wonder if Ruby's search has yielded fruit. It might be worth checking up on her, unless another task has greater priority. Regardless of your choice, you feel energized and ready to take on the unknown perils ahead.

Loop 4 - Part 2
[X] Check up on Ruby's search for ancient Saurian civilization (Echoes of the Traveler)

You shake the lingering sleepiness from your eyes, eager to see if Ruby has tracked down any hint of ancient Saurian civilization. You make your way to Saurus Peak, not even noticing the pungent stench wafting from the Museum entrance. The door to Ruby and Cobalt's abode lies closed. Hesitantly, you tap your forepaw on the wood. A few awkward seconds pass without response. You pound the door again with far more force, and a familiar voice cries out from inside.

"Coming!"

The door swings inward, revealing your strange new acquiantence. The Circle Statue looms over her in the background, casting a sinister presence which contrasts with Ruby's boundless enthusiasm.

"Oh hello, my friend!"

"Uh, don't you think it's a bit too early to call me tha-" you begin before getting interrupted.

"I'm dying to share everything I've found, yes indeed!" she continues, gesturing you to enter. Cautiously, you move through the doorway and to Ruby's worktable, which is covered with sketches and notes. Centered is a map of the immense desert that stretches over a significant portion of Wild Nest's largest continent - the same one that the Great Valley resides on. Near the southern side, Ruby has circled an oasis which lies at the intersection of multiple lines, surrounded by mathematical calculations. This is what she dramatically points to you.

"I never thought it would be easy to track down the Zeroth City-"

"Zeroth City?" you ask.

"-the Ancient Saurian settlement that my father and I's research has revealed! All I had to do was break into the Rangers' archives and-"

"-Wait what?" you exclaim.

"Oh it's not that bad, the loop would set things back to as they were before I broke in!" explains Ruby. "Anyway, I simply needed to examine their expedition logs to find all the evidence I needed! During their travels across the Sandy Sea, the Rangers spotted signs of a vast city buried beneath the dunes, right next to an oasis that would provide all the water a city would need!"

She points to the surveyor lines around the spot.

"All I did was triangulate the observations in the travel logs to locate the Zeroth City!" she says, beaming with pride.

"That's... honestly incredible, Ruby. I never thought someone could find a place nobody else knew about with just math!" you reply, before adding "So, uh, what do we do now?"

Ruby pauses.

"That's... a very good question, yes indeed! My first thought was to hijack the scout airship in the Airstrip..." she replies.

"Stealing? Again?" you ask, never expecting Cobalt's daughter to be this... casually criminal.

"Well you're definitely one to talk, with all the times you stole MBV's spacecraft!" replies Ruby.

"Yeah, but I didn't really..." you trail off. Right.

"...uh, speaking of which, I guess we could just fly there in the Starflyer..." you resume. Ruby looks aghast.

"Rattling around in that deathtrap? Never!"

"But it's way faste-"

"I'd much rather get there in one piece!" replies Ruby. "Besides, the triangulation I have isn't that precise! What if the craft takes us down in the wrong place and we get stuck in the desert?"

"It's a spaceplane, I can glide it-"

"You think you're that good of a pilot?" replies Ruby. The question stings. As much as you don't want to admit it, you still aren't confident of your abilities to fly the Starflyer.

"If we use the scout, we can take all the time we need searching for the Zeroth City. It's only two days from here that way, and we won't have to stress about piloting."

"I...I think I see your point," you reply. Ruby nods.

"Well, then, I'm ready when you are!"

You pause. If you set out now, you wouldn't be able to do anything else in the Valley or fly off into the Mysterious Beyond. You wonder if there is anything else you should take care of before you leave.
