The Eldritch One (Celestial Forge)

This sounds as if Emma knows about the mouths without the timeline split. If she does, that really ought to have some consequences in the real timeline. I can't imagine Emma just letting this go without commenting on it, maybe even gloating that she stuffed Taylor into a locker and she got such a gross power as mouths. There's a good chance she'd out Taylor, or at least tell Shadow Stalker and/or the PRT (maybe even telling them she fears the "villain").

I don't see "normal slime" in here. The description sounds most like Predator Slime, most of the others don't have human forms.

It also describes most slimes as weak. Not 20 times the abilities of a human.

Sigh.

I wish there were more Celestial Forge fics that could make it past chapter ten or so without turning the protagonist into a figurative or literal monster.

You've done both here by chapter four.

Huh, another Slime Taylor. Very useful. Also, damn, more crap being thrown her way, but more chances to publicaly flex as Taylor. Wonder if she'll ever get a cape name.

I find very unhinged Taylor refreshing. Someone's gonna die real soon going by how quickly things are escalating.

I have kind of like how you are turning her into a Shoggoth and the celestial forge is reinforcing that she's made to create with her almost dying Awakening her Shoggoth nature with it forced giving her multi-dimensional mind and then giving her some of her body parts or even having her mother having some Shoggoth bloodline

I would advise taking a bit more time between chapters to edit them. The last two felt like a noticable drop in quality from the previous chapters. Most noticably was instances where it felt incoherent when you had someone talk but then followed up with an action from someone else, without actually acknowledging who was talking. For example, "What the fuck is so funny bitch!" I get up and pull the articles out of my backpack." That is not Taylor talking but it is Taylor acting.

thanks for the chapters and for writing. author there are no normal slimes in overlord

Taylor is now ageless. That's good. Sadly, she's got an irksome-changer ability. I'm surprised that she didn't get flushed. Talk about horror factor there.

Thinking about it, blunt force damage shouldn't harm her either. Then again fire, ice, or any elemental blast would. Bio/acids might be implied for her to be immune to them. I'd worry about laser guns and other tinker weapons though.

If anything, Emma and the school need a lawsuit. She doesn't have any paper trail though which makes things annoying for Danny.

Danny is being stupid again. You are asking your daughter to be hospitalized or picked up by the police? Just take her out of the damn school.

I like Emma getting kidnapped due to exposing Shadow Stalker's ID. I'm more confused on why that one guy jumped to murder to cover it up though. I don't see Coil doing that to cover for Sophia.

I like how Coil is convinced that its his actions that are triggering all the differences. O.k. he should be able to figure out Taylor is being odd within a short amount of time. I could actually see him experimenting to try figuring it out.

The first thing that would jump to his head is odd power interactions. She isn't blocking his power. If anything, she likely thinks that she has an uncontrollable version of his power. Thinking about what he would do with an uncontrollable version of his power, but he can sense fake timelines?

Trying and failing to beat the shit out Sophia is sort of obvious. I could actually see him laughing his ass off watching the results though. Taylor is routinely proving that she has no combat ability though if she had any would gleefully use it on Sophia.

I wish there were more authors that turned the protagonist into a monster. And less that make the CF underpowered because it fits the plot.

There you go. Go read the ones you like and stop trying to make the author feel bad for what they prefer to write about.

Can Coil please mess up and just solve the Emma problem for everyone?
it would be the first good thing he'd actually done in his life.

his karma grew three sizes that day, you'd still need a spiritual electron microscope to see it but it would be progress!

I both disagree and agree with different things you said, but I wanted to clear something up. Murdering Taylor wasn't a Coil thing. He still doesn't know anything, except that Emma knows about another parahuman. The handler chose to silence Taylor because they would face both unemployment and jail time if her reports made it to the higher ups in the PRT. Because the handler has been covering for Sophie in both her cape and civilian ID's.

Hmm. I like the vibe of this fic even if it doesn't fit taylor.
Tho not sure if not giving her a heads up about her grimoir is a good thing considering how some powers can be not obvious.

Well. Finally got a power that's actually really good at combat.

Aaaaand it in fact does make the whole mouth power thing more useful.

Thankfully it's not the type of slime that gets to become what they eat. That shits way too op.
Who says she isn't? As a Slime Taylor is entirely capable of crawling down one of her own throats and being partially merged with different objects.
Jumpdoc text trumps source material, apparently, and it mentions normal slimes that are vulnerable to fire.
Vulnerable to whatever the opposite of what they're aligned with but fire by default.

If she can shed layers of material and/or become non-stick it might be a non-issue? I wonder whether she'll want to go for a swim at some point.

Also I rather hope that she'll be getting into chemistry with this since chemical-synthesis is apparently a ability available to Slimes; enough to recognize polymers and proteins like the various varieties of Cellulose and at least some plastics. A bit of geochemistry would also probably be nice.

Edit: wait a second; according to the Perk she can selectively dissolve thing so yeah she's arbitrarily clean at will.
