The dirt under your nails - ARCANE

Actually thinking about it, Jinx has better weapons, she definitely has the advantage in ranged combat.

Both of them are juiced on superhuman serums so we can assume they are physically equal, but Harley has a lot of experience in hand to hand combat plus being a former Olympic grade gymnast plus actually carrying melee weapons so melee should be on her favor.

And Harley has was more feats.

If there is prep time and Jinx gets to make her drone swarm then Jinx wins, no question. But I random encounter? Depends way to much on the details of the encounter.

No prep time.
Going off past battles Jinx will probably have a mix of her game gear and what she had in Arcane.
So Pow-Pow the minigun, Zap the hand gun (spark and/or bullet variant), Fishbones the Rocket Launcher (we will likely see the Super Mega Death Rocket), her Chomper Grenades and her Shimmer enhancements.
No idea if they would recreate the Firelight Bomb Swarm.

Saw a post elsewhere about the fight and a person claimed Jinx is nothing without her guns. -.-

I agree, now that the dust has settled and all the hype around the show has died down til season 2, we've said most of what we wanna say already.

We need new people with new perspectives to throw their two cents in. That oughta kick start somethings.

I feel like we are increasingly talking about not-arcane in this thread.

What about arcane fanfictions? Can we discuss them?
I know I've come across a number I like.

There's always the question of how Vi gets from the position where she is now, to being an enforcer for Piltover. Assuming she actually even goes in that direction, which is hardly a given.

I mean I can see a vague trail forward that could lead her there, vaguely. My random thoughts :

  • There's the fact that her memories of the Undercity are mixed at best. Her family getting killed, prison...
  • And even with Silco dead, the city is in the hands of people Vi hates.
  • Piltover on the other hand will likely be less oppressor responsible for everything wrong, then slow motion train weirdo.
  • And then there's Caitlin— Vi at least has a crush on the beautiful woman who actually seems to care about her.
  • Caitlin won't stand idly by, she's bound to try to help. Which is a recipe for getting liked, and Vi will know that.
  • And then there's the question of what exactly will Vi do with her life? She had one major talent set, which means she'll be busting heads for somebody. And honestly outside of Caitlin, the options don't look great. There's Ekko, but he had his own problems.
  • And there's the insane elephant in the room: Jynx. Is she doing to try to kill Vi? Or Caitlin? Wage a war of terror against Piltover? All of the above How Vi ends up playing Batman to Jynx's Joker can go any number of ways...

and i noticed a tendency amount some people to call Arcane a "woke" show done right. because Arcane has black peoples in the cast?
I wouldn't be surprised if people were saying that. But I refuse to acknowledge any good piece of media as 'woke'.Ugh, I hate that word-there's so much negative connotation with it now. I really wish it'd die already.

Anyways, animated shows have had black folks in them for YEARS, absolutely nothing new there, but whatever, I gave up trying to see reason with people today a long time ago.

I mean, Arcane does its diverse cast well, without falling into tropes or stereotypes about them. Which is, like, harder then it really should be in modern media.

And, so far, is has something of a progressive message.

Right wing folks are motivated to revise their opinions of the show because it is so good and perceived as so good so that they can stay in the conversation and not get frozen out by their obviously odious opinions.

me too hence the quotation marks. the word "Woke" "SJW" and "Cancel Culture" all once meant something but have been misused by white supremacists to the point I cringe when I hear any of the terms.

it's gotten to the point where trying to make fun of corporate faux progressiveness like the NFL saying BLM while having a business model of mostly white couches and owners who profit at mostly black athletes ruining their bodies.

without it seeming your a "Anti-SJW".

it's kind of upsetting the Arcane fandom has so many of those people in it. the racist double standards in the Arcane fandom pretty much soured it permanently for me as will as not being interesting in the PnZ corner when there is so much more interesting lore and characters in Runeterra

Which is precisely why its so dumb for people to fret over it. Early 2000's shows had diversity up the yahoo and nobody cared, it was just good tv.

Fandoms always have their demons to them. It's just in this day and age they're able to be more vocal.

their wasn't a bullshit "Culture War" shit going on then where anything with minorities was "SJW" and the wider LoL fandom infamously has issues with racism and sexism
