The Dawi change the game(An GOT/Warhammer crossover)

It depends since the Archmaester of their order will work directly for the Targs. The North will either form their own order, or do something any other group of humans would... Do things yourself.

We would be their higher place of learnign regardless, much like how the Empire see's Dawi in WF. They'll likely never see a Dawi hold, but even a couple of lessons from a traveling hold dwarf, is considered worth more than your weight in gold

You sat across from the king in his solar alone your only company a roaring fire in the corner as it illuminated the room and allowing you to see just how tired he was. Torren Stark looked ragged his shoulders haunched as he looked down at a cup of dawi ale. While you yourself sat across from him in your armor your ax and shield at the edge of the room as you held a tankard of ale your blood boiling for action.

His eyes drifted to a stack of messages that would be sent out to the houses who had lost kin. Though you could also see relief in them for an unknown reason as he seemed to contemplate something. His voice held a note of exhaustion as he spoke "I am sorry to disturb you at this hour Thorin, I more than others know how hard your people have worked to protect and sacrificed much for my land's yet I have been unable to truly show my gratitude. Yet it seems in this tragedy I have been given a chance to repay some of the debt." He took a sip of the ale as he seemed to compose himself. "Lord Glover hold's some animosity for what you did to his daughter but he respects you enough for what happened. Tell me how fair's your son since you last saw him?" He asked while he focused on you.

You found yourself blinking at the question. "Last I heard he is growing well and in good health and that he may even start to practice his weapon skill's in the yard, I have heard from his... Uncle that he is clever for a child if prone to anger." You said confusedly wondering where this line of inquiry was heading.

Torren seemed pleased at the information as he nodded to something. "I see that is good, you see sadly during the evening assault on the camp many Lord's and heirs perished in the fires trying to organize the men. Some houses were lucky enough to avoid it others's not so much, this, of course, has caused a succession crisis among houses as they scramble for a second cousin to take hold of their land's among them is the Bolten lands. Sadly I have had my eye on the Boltens for some time for reasons I will not disclose here while sadly all men born of their line are dead, the last of Roberd Boltens line now rests on the shoulders of a girl only nine namedays old." He said to you as he pulled out a letter yet to receive its seal. "This is meant for Lord Glovers lady wife informing her that she is to ensure that your son is taught what he will need to rule the Bolten land's. I expect great things from him and may this action tie our two peoples closer together."

You nodded your head as you read over the letter well aware of what it meant for both your son's future and your people. "Thank you Thorin I am sure my son will appreciate this but no thanks were needed, an oath was made and my people will honor it." You said firmly but you did not protest the gift.

He seemed to want to shake his head before he let it go well aware of your people's stubbornness before he put his ale down and sat up well staring at you seriously. "I will leave the topic for now but we have a problem, winter is at most a year and a bit from now. We can not march on the south without the risk of been caught out in the storms while the same can be said for the south. They will be traped far below the neck or risk freezing to death trying to assault this fortress, especially now that it has seen repair and improvement by your people." He sighed before he pulled out a report and handed it to you. "I must send many of the gathered host homewards if we are to hold the Moat with any strength for the winter, maybe some twelve thousand souls in total can be fed for ten year's on the food that has been sent here. Which will also be safe in the halls that your people built beneath these walls, so I ask you what will your people do?" He asked while you read over the report detailing the supplies of the fortress as well as that of the expected length of the winter been seven year's something that would tax even your people with the facilities you had available.

[]To WAR!: You will march the combined Throng of nearly 7000 Dawi south and raze the umgi lands for Vengeance.(Many Dawi be coming) (will see the war turns continuing) (You go Alone with no umgi support)

[] Hold the Moat: Winter is here and the umgi have attacked before may be holding in the Moat for the years to come will be for the best. (3 Actions for garrison tasks)

[]To Hold and home: With Winter coming you find the call for home great and while your blood boils for blood and vengeance. You would rather rest and see to it that your home is secure and expanded upon in the winter years.

(Optional) (Only Take if hold and home is selected or Hold the Moat)

The Garrison and their tasks:

[]Guard The entrance of the North:
Winter may be here but some umgi can be very tenacious in their goals. So having some of the Throng stay in Moat Calin to protect it would ensure it remains in your hands. (1000 Dawi left to protect the Moat.) (400 Quarralers, 200 Rangers, 300 Warriors, 100 Miners) (Includes 3 Runesmiths) (Gives 2 actions to the Throng and Rangers)

[]Leave only a small Guard: The Dawi are not needed in great number to hold the fortress a few will do. (400 Dawi left to protect the Moat.) (200 Quarralers, 100 Rangers, 75 Warriors, 25 Miners) (Gives 1 action to the Throng and Rangers)

What are the Throngs tasks: (Actions depend on Garrison)

The Throng

[] Restore and Improve Moat Calins courtyard defenses

[] Turn the Umgi stationed in the Moat into a dangerous fighting force

[] Rebuild the moats towers

[] Improve the Moat's facilities so they are fit for a dawi

[] Expand the Subterranean Network with rooms and secret pathways for flanking:

The Rangers

[] Gather Food

[] Continue to Harras the Umgi Host's that gather

[] Gather Umgi plans to discover their invasion routes and mustering points

[] Turn the Swamp into a killing grounds

You ended up talking with him at great length both discussing what was to come and plans for the winter ahead knowing that it would be hard to communicate effectively. Tough decisions were made and orders given as you felt it was the right choice and at least vengeance would be had one way or the other.

Though the king did not let you go freely as he had finally managed to get you to accept a reward for assisting his kingdom so much. Even though you tried to say no to it but he promised it as a gift eventually forcing you to accept it. At least it would help the hold you thought.

[]Umgi Miners to help excavate the hold for a time:(+2 free Stewardship option to hold and mining related chooices) (5 Turns Long obligation)

[] Gold to fill your Coffers (15 000 Gold given to you)

[] Food and hunters as well as Wood workers and builders : (+2 years worth of food and hunters to bring in a years worth of food to fill your food stocks while umgi workers will assist with surface construction.) (2 years of food, +1 Food per turn for 5 turns, 1 Free Stewardship to surface actions for 5 turns)

Though as you made to leave an umgi messenger burst into the room panting as he looked around before his eyes set on the King. "My lord word from Winterfell your family has been taken."

You made your way up the tower so that you could find a place to think in peace about everything that had happened. You passed Umgi who bowed to you all of whom stood around lit brazers as they stood guard while you spotted dawi hard at work in the light snow as they improved upon the damage done to the castle in the last attack. While in the courtyard, you watched as a number of rangers finally departed for your hold with troll's tightly secured within their chains atop cart's delimbed for the safety of any that came to pass them.

When you reached the top of the tower you got a good view of the neck as the umgi called it as its water's looked to be freezing over while a light snow covered the causeway. Your only company a group of dawi quarralers who saluted you before focusing on their duties.

Interlude: The Fall of the black Dread

You could not help but think of how long this muster had taken, nearly A year and a half had passed since you marched from your hold and now here you stood a friend dead and many more umgi nothing but food for the Crow's.

Though it seemed everything you had planed meant little now as the Umgi dragon rider had secured a trade for his wife and vassal's but no more as the King could not risk insurrection. Still not all things were dark you thaught in grim satisfaction as you turned your head to look at what now hung above the gate.

The umgi was foolish for killing your kin and now the grudge had been settled as you looked at the wyrm's head its body used for regents. Though you did feel bad for the pain you caused Rhaenys but her brother gave the command to the wyrm and it was settled. This was the only mercy you would give her family as you did not wish for a quarrel that the dawi could not truly win not yet that is. But the Grudge had been struck out just like you had said your people would and that was how it would always be.

Though as you watched the umgi lords and Visenya walk away from the fortress while passing the kings family you could only hope that the queen could end this war for good, As you were not sure you had the heart to kill a friend. Though you would do it if duty called for it.

Personal actions (Choose 2)

[] Spend time with Rhaenys

[] Talk establish relations with Stark power Block

[] Train your ax and shield Skill

[] Practice with a crossbow

Vengence has been had and a grudge struck from the Damaz Kron

128 of the clan have been burned to ash by the beast Balerion and only the death of the beast and all those it births will allow vengeance to be fulfilled.

2-hour moratorium

So just so im clear ageon somehow got to the starks family in winterfell and arranged a trade for the umgi lords and Visenya. Am i reading that right.

From what I can tell yes...

And it's led to a armistice I think. At least for over winter.

thankfully it's unlikely outside of propaganda appearances, that the Targs will be able to field and dragons for at least 3-4 years. Whereupon they may be able to convinced Aegon/his vassals to agree to a (temporary) peace deal. Likely allowing them to direct their efforts to take Dorne, and thus secure total control over the south

The Targs have magic, blood magic to be exact. So don't push long scale infiltration past them.

Also we likely needed an out. (Breaking the fourth wall I know) the Targs cannot peace is yet; but cannot proceed. A prisoner transfer puts them back to square one, but placates their nobility.

we do however still have Rhaenys and Meraxes I believe.

andthey have Visenyas dragon holed up on dragonstone unde the guise of 'brooding, with winter requiring her to stay in the volcanic nest. They can 'validate this, by showing off the little dragons that they hatched in the last few years. Which should reach the size of cows, by the time winter ends

Orys Departed for Winterfell when you guys captured Rhaenys and has since then been sneaking first landing via boat near landing near stony shore and made his way from there. Though there was a lot of background rolls and covering tracks.

2. why didnt he take Rhaenys i though cannon she was aegons favorite of the two?

Yes but currently he needs a dragon to control his new vassals. So she was picked Because he needed her and the lords you took to help maintain order

So essentially for this plan we head home for now but leave a sizable guard to hold the north and get the hold and umgi into a proper force. And have the rangers try to figure out their plans for now. And as for the gift we still have food trade from the boats active so we should be fine on food and getting an additional 2 stewardship actions is an amazing thing we need right now and cant be overlooked. As for us personally i saw we chat with our guest and blow off some steam and train since the last duel we have with her sister shows we need to up our game a little.

I like your plan, and I will probably vote for it.
I wonder can we send our ranger to fucking kill the dragon again after we take back the Stark family?or even better start a fucking terror campaign against the supporter of the Targarian?

As much as i would love to continue our reign of terror of the south we should take the chance and see what they are planning they have shown to be sneaky bastards by the stunt they just pulled with the stark family, id prefer knowing everything we can about their plans now.

You're right, it's just rub me the wrong way that they could sneak enough man to infiltrate Winterfell and took off with the Stark family. Can we at least kill Oris?

[]Umgi Miners to help excavate the hold for a time: (+2 free Stewardship option to hold and mining related chooices) (5 Turns Long obligation)
@Mad0Slayer So to make sure I understand this one correctly: This means 2 extra Stewardship actions for 5 turns, restricted to "subterranean" actions?

[] Food and hunters as well as Wood workers and builders : (+2 years worth of food and hunters to bring in a years worth of food to fill your food stocks while umgi workers will assist with surface construction.) (2 years of food, +1 Food per turn for 5 turns, 1 Free Stewardship to surface actions for 5 turns)
And the Surface one has one free Stewardship action (restricted to the surface) with some food bonuses?

The first is probably better in that case; we have a few Food options even underground, after all (Mushrooms and the Fishery), and we can spend our "standard" Stewardship actions on the surface with more freedom.

ASOIAF Winter is long and most Lords and their people stay home. The Dawi are used to the biting cold. We could raze/raid several castles then return to the hold.

We could either target the any of the Kingdoms close to the North or finally take vengeance on the Iron Lord's house that tried to raid our hold. (This may affect us down the line depending on what we plan to do)

OR

Finish our Hold and finally build a proper Dawi Brewery and some proper underground farms farms. (I think we could get inspiration from the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor in LOTR, Dig Deep and plan Long term)

My plan looks pretty similar to Raptor580 's, with only a couple key differences:

1. With the way things are going, Moat Cailin looks likely to turn into a significant secondary population center for us (and we haven't heard from that other group of dawi in a while). I would rather treat it as such (means "upgrade the facilities" in place of the courtyard defenses).
> If I understand King Torrhen correctly, he is of the opinion that an attack during winter is unlikely.

2. If we're going to be isolated by winter for a while, this will be our last chance for a while to build political connections and alliances (personal action: talk with Stark power bloc in place of work on ax and shield skill).

(edit) Forgot the Gift choice (and I agree with Raptor580 that bonus Stewardship actions are a lot more valuable than a little extra food).

(edit 2)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there is only one Ranger action here?
> "Gather plans."

doesn't Balerion have spawn with the other 2 dragons it was said he mated with them both and the grudge said we need to kill all his offspring

Your right i missed the second ranger action, and ill agree with you on using the last chance for a while to talk to the lords instead of training but while making this place fit for dawi would be nice im gonna have to keep with making sure this place is as defensible as possible considering this is literally the single chock point protecting the north and dawi will always favor defense in depth to comfort. Hence ill use the second ranger action to make the swamp a nightmare for the umgi to traverse. I also dont see to much of a need to gather food since it was said they have a stockpile that will last 10 years right now so we cant really add much more to that.
