The Contest of Power (Wiki-Warrior style story) (Fallout)

hence why I found writing the Karina chapter to be boring in comparison to writing about the blob monster. XD

Chapter 59-- Kajjiu Battle in District 11
Regan, Kevin, Theo, and a number of men instinctively fell back to more defensive positions inside one of the buildings soon as the giant blob monster simply stepped over the electrified wire fence and kept on moving toward their location.

"Our monitors indicate that a defector has appeared in South America, working for a S.M.A.S.H. drug enforcement unit. Of course, such transgression should be dealt with swift and summary execution, but perhaps this former minion can still be of use to us. The minion is now a trained guard, if captured he could easily be coerced into telling us his newfound skills - capture him so he can be interrogated, and his knowledge acquired."
This act requires four workers for the action to be performed successfully.

Effect: Regan, Kevin, Theo, and one other random man now get the skill of a secret agent, more specifically one designed to kidnap somebody discreetly without the enemy faction noticing at all. We shall see if this will even be of use to us down the road.

A volley of gunfire rang out, as the blob monster was showered with bullets.

All it did was make the monster's body shake and ripple like Jello, causing the slime contained in the body to splash out like it was blood from the bullet "wounds". but otherwise, it seemed unaffected. It was even absorbing the bullets into itself.

But, it appeared that the slime that spilled out of its body was having weird effects on those who got rained on by it. One man burst out laughing uncontrollably, an ugly grin spreading out across his face as his eyes popped out and he fell to the ground, seemingly laughing to death.

The blob monster reached out a tendril to drag the still-laughing man into itself, and the poor man couldn't help but drown in the slime as he couldn't stop laughing. Eventually, he died floating inside the slime body with a frozen rictus grin on his face. And then his body started to bubble, clearly being in the process of being digested and assimilated.

Another man touched by the slime "blood" broke out on boils and flesh-growing tumors like the slime was transforming him into a horrible mutant of some sort… and as he writhed about agonizingly on the ground, the slime claimed him as well.

The message was pretty clear here-- regular bullets were useless and if you got covered in its slime you were royally fucked.

"Damn, looks like our normal weapons won't work." Theo cursed loudly.

"Do you have any laser weaponry? Water vaporizes when exposed to heat, the same should be for slime… right?" Regan suggested, and Theo perked up.

"I know somebody who was working on something like that! Hold the fort while I go fetch him!" Theo yelled as he ran off.

"What the fuck are we supposed to do here? I may be super, but I don't think I can punch that!" Kevin whined, once again bemoaning that he was now facing yet another enemy whom he couldn't simply summon aquatic allies to help him fight.

This was one of the reasons why Kevin had an inferiority complex, because seriously how many times had he been made aware by others that "The Deep" was effectively useless outside of water-based missions??

Regan then handed Kevin his weapons and said, "keep on shooting while I pull something. Hopefully, I'll get something or somebody who can help us with this."

Kevin sighed but did as Regan did, and started shooting like crazy in the direction of the blob.

With this, he pulled--

https://monsters.fandom.com/wiki/Muzan_(Devilman) Roll 11
Muzan from Devilman, is a demon that can create pocket dimensions, fly, have super strength, and shapeshift.

Effect: since this was a very low roll, Regan gets smaller or weaker versions of those powers. For example, he can't fit a human being inside his pocket dimension as it is too small, but he can store things inside it for example. He is only somewhat stronger than the average human. As he already can shapeshift, not much changed there. He can fly a few inches off the ground when in human form, however.

Fuck, nothing happened. A dud this time.

It is a "quadrupedal monkey man" that evolved from a gorilla. Mainly in herds, eating grass, etc. It prefers to live in a wide-open land, such as the savanna. It has evolved into a complete quadrupedal type, and it can hardly be called a monkey.
Although it looks like it, the lifestyle is not so different from the current gorilla, He has a relatively gentle personality. When a male matures, it has silvery white hair on its back and is called a silverback. The better this is, the more popular it is. Gentle personality, but against predators and unfamiliar creatures Is alert and cannot approach blindly. The blow from the thick and strong arm is powerful!

Effect: a herd of this Kentaurosu creature is summoned for three hours just outside the boundary of the wire fence.

Regan and Kevin perked up when they saw a group of those massive ape-like men and women appear, only to be disappointed when all of them started screeching like mad when seeing the blob monster and all of them ran away into the rocks to never be seen again.

"Fuck!" Regan cursed because the Blob monster was slowly approaching and was pretty close now relatively speaking.

"No, you were on the right track. But I think you need to summon a giant creature we can control! Ya get me?" Kevin turned to grab Regan as he said that.

… oh right. He could kind of direct his power like that, right? Why the fuck had he been just summoning blindly?! He hated it when he forget he could do shit like that.

He focused on the image of a big creature that he and Kevin could control and pull.

https://monsters.fandom.com/wiki/The_Stalker_(OC_Kaiju) Roll 16
The Stalker are mutated alien dinosaur/crustacean hybrid kaiju, as seen on Monster island. Normally it lives in water and rarely ventures into land unless its' mating season and wants to show off to a potential mate by fighting other creatures. No picture of it at all, so don't bother clicking the link as it is a stub.

Effect: Normally, living things would not be summoned unless part of a building or whatever else that were summoned. Instead, Regan would get their abilities. But Regan did ask for something that the Deep could control, and he's the champion of some random omniscient bastard who's all too happy to cheat at games using technicalities and loopholes. Animals aren't technically real people and can be considered something one can own.
So this Kaiju crab monster, due to the roll 16, is two times bigger than the blob monster instead of at a giant skyscraper size and is in poor health due to being the runt of the litter who was effectively picked on by siblings and abandoned by parents.

The ground rumbled loudly, as a giant crab monster two times the size of the two-story tall blob monster, dramatically emerged from the ground much to the shock of the men around Regan and Kevin.

"Holy shit is this a Mirelurk Queen? I've heard about those from those living on the California coast! I didn't think I'd get to see one all the way out here!" one of the random guards exclaimed.

"Great, just what we fucking needed!" the other one by his side groaned.

Regan grinned. "You wanted something you can control? You got it. Now go talk to it, get it to fight the monster."

Kevin looked over at the giant dinosaur-like crab, before looking back at Regan. He then slowly grinned.

He then turned and ran out while yelling at the other men, "Don't shoot at the giant crab, it's on our side!"

Thankfully it seemed that the crab monster didn't need much convincing that the other monster was its' enemy instead of the human men, because the blob monster was already turning towards the Crab Monster. The Crab Monster did some sort of threat display in response to this, waving one bigger crab claw.

The blob monster reached out one arm towards the Crab monster, but then that arm turned into a ridiculously long tendril that was strengthened by the plant tentacle vines inside of the blob-slime, and it lashed out at the Crab monster in a whip-like movement. And just like that, the monster was wrapped up in slimy vines, being slowly dragged in by the Blob monster.

And this was all before The Deep stopped close enough to speak to the Crab Monster.

The slime had one of its random effects again, as it seemed to act like acid against the Crab's exoskeleton, making it bubble.

Kevin/The Deep was now too far away for anybody to hear, yet was close enough for the Crab to hear. He was saying something to the crab, seemingly making suggestions on what the Crab could do.

The Dinosaur-sized Crab suddenly stopped acting like a struggling animal, and its actions became calm and measured as it casually used one of its claws to cut through the arm-tendril thing at a great cost to one claw as the exoskeleton started bubbling too. That was enough to loosen the tendril's hold on it, and he was able to shake himself like a dog to get rid of the tendril which was still causing grievous harm to its body.

The Deep dodged the Tendril as it dropped to the floor and started falling apart, and shouted encouragement at the crab creature.

The Blob seemed to realize something had changed somehow and was especially upset by the loss of the tendril as that had harmed his new plant-like nervous system and caused it to feel physical pain for the very first time. So it started pushing up one of the trucks it had been holding in its body towards one of its "arms" and hurled the vehicle at the crab in retaliation.

Amusingly, that didn't seem to do much as the truck just crumbled against the Dinosaur Crab's hard shell and then fell to the ground, all without catching on fire or exploding. Which made sense as it was completely doused in slime, which wasn't conducive to fire.

Dinosaur-Crab did a side shuffling move there circling the blob before finally charging at it, its claws going for precision strikes that targeted the plant-vine-tentacle things inside the blob's body.

Even an idiot could tell that was their weak spot due to how visible they were inside the transparent body, and now the Deep was directing the Crab by pointing out all the blob monster's obvious weak spots.

Regan sincerely wished them both the best with that.

The two giant monsters parried and attacked each other for a while like that, trying to strike each other's weak spots. Unfortunately, it seemed like the Blob monster had the advantage due to having not much in the way of internal organs that could be damaged. And, the plant-vine things acting as the blob's nervous and body support system could also shift themselves around so that they were never in the same spot, making it difficult for the crab monster to land a critical hit.

It felt like forever before Theo finally came back with the man he had been looking for, and the man was a black guy by the name of Andres Booker, and the two of them were struggling along with a large catapult-like device while a bunch of random armed men escorted them and to keep them free from the armless dinosaur-like creatures roaming around here still.

"About time you come back. As you can see, there's been a few new developments since you left." Regan commented casually as he kept himself crouched behind a barrack along with a lot of other guys who were also watching the giant monster battle unfold like he was doing.

Theo groaned and cursed loudly when he saw the giant dinosaur-sized crab. "Fuck, just what I needed, yet another shit cherry on top of the fucked-up sundae."

"Wait! That crab's actually on our side… um, there's something I haven't told you about my friend Kevin over there because people are prejudiced against Muties…." Regan started eating everyone's anxiety and fears in the hopes they'd take the news better. At the same time, Regan explained how Kevin was different from others in that he could communicate with lifeforms that typically lived in the water, such as fish and crabs, etc.

It also helped that Regan could simply gesture over at Kevin, who was clearly and visibly directing the Crab in using intelligent tactics against the blob monster it wouldn't be doing otherwise.

Theo snorted. "Well, we'll all deal with that later. For now, let's focus on the blob creature."

Everyone nodded at Theo's words, and with that Regan helped the other men reorient this futuristic-looking catapult weapon so that it was directed toward the blob monster.

"So…. what is this thing supposed to do? It looks like a catapult but…" Regan wondered out loud.

"It's a plasma grenade launcher. I've been creating and stockpiling plasma grenades for…. Personal reasons." Andres Booker looked a little cagy at this, but Regan paid that no mind and just grinned.

"Yeah, you were right, Theo. this should do the trick hopefully." Regan merely said, "Anything I can do to help?"

"Can you get your friend to tell the …. Mirelurk Queen--" Theo was asking, but then Regan corrected that with "Crab monster."

Theo then scoffed. "Whatever it is. I want it to hold the see-through monster in place. The launcher's useless if it keeps on moving over the damn place fighting with the crab monster." Theo said all that while looking over at Andres to see if he got that right. Andres merely nodded.

Regan nodded back at the two of them and jogged out to where Kevin was standing. Kevin was behind a derelict old airplane husk using it to shield against any slime that might spill out of the blob's body, cheering on the Crab monster.

"You can do it, Rock!" Kevin yelled just as Regan finally caught up to him.

"Kevin," Regan said, panting slightly. He really did need to work out more. "Theo needs the Blob monster to stay in place while he uses this grenade launcher thing. Do you think this monster of ours can make them stay still?"

Kevin frowned. "Only way to do that so far would be to have Rock stand still while the blob attempts to swallow him. But I can't have Rock do that, it's already having a detrimental effect on his poor shell. What if the bombs hurt him too?"

At this, he gestured at "Rock", whose shell seemed to be scarring and weakening already from the battle with the blob, whose slime seemed to have adverse and utterly random effects on any living being it touched. And already it was weakening the Dinosaur crab's shell, making it bubble and act more like putty.

Regan held Kevin by the shoulders. He then said quietly, "I summoned that monster to help save our lives. If we try to keep the monster safe, then that giant blob will eat us and everyone else in the world. I ask you, would you rather stay alive? Even if it means your big friend here has to make a heroic sacrifice?"

Kevin sighed. "That's just…. Well. I've only gotten to know Rock a short time but from what he told me he's led a pretty rough life. The runt of his litter was so small compared to the rest of his brothers and sisters. He couldn't even fight the other monsters on the island where they lived, he was too small. So he couldn't even engage in the mating rituals for the fights were part of that once he was old enough to mate. And his siblings keep on picking on him, calling him little pebble instead of his given name Rock. I don't want to heap more shit on him by using him like that."

Regan had to fight the urge to facepalm or pinch his nose to ward off a headache.

It seemed as if Kevin got attached to the aquatic creatures he could talk with pretty fast. Talk about inconvenient and irritating…

Something occurred to Regan, and so he decided to gamble a little bit by asking Kevin, "But is that what Rock really wants? It seems like you're projecting your feelings into him. You should be asking what it is that Rock really wants."

Kevin then looked mildly abashed. He replied, "well… Rock's having the time of his life right now, despite the beatings he's taking. Because his kind lives for fights, he's feeling like a big man right now."

Regan's hands were still resting on Kevin's shoulders, so he squeezed them. "See? If you're really a friend of his then you should be doing what he wants to make him happy. And I'm sure he'd be happy to take any hit if it means his enemy falls before he does."

He then took his hands off Kevin's shoulders, waiting for his response.

Kevin nodded. "You're right."

With that, he turned to face Rock. He then yelled out, "The humans have a way to take down the blob monster, but they need your help to hold it in place. I hate to ask you this but can you stand there and tank a few hits from the blob monster to make it stay still?"

Regan looked at Kevin strangely, before asking: "Uh. Do you speak to them normally? I thought you spoke to them telepathically or something?"

Kevin smiled. "It's a mixture, really. There's definitely a telepathic component there but I need to speak to get my thoughts in order and to get across what I want to say."

"Ah."

Meanwhile, Rock seemed willing to then stand there instead of doing the side-shuffling boxer dance he did to dodge the blob's attacks, and then the blob oozed over and slowly started climbing into Rock.
Both Regan and Kevin heard Theo shout, "NOW!!"

They could then see a bunch of large grenades the size of footballs fly over to the Blob and the Crab in an arc, and the large grenades sank into the blob's body… while beeping loudly and blinking a bright green color.

It exploded outwards in a bright green color, the booming noise somewhat muffled by the slime. But now the slime was flying everywhere, so the two men had to duck behind the old airplane husk to avoid getting hit by the slime. There were also cars and other things that had been inside the slime that went flying, as well.

~~~
The Dinosaur Crab creature known as Rock himself was covered in slime, but he was able to shake it off quickly as a dog did, but that just caused the slime to go everywhere too. He then noticed that the plant vines inside the slime body were now exposed, and then quickly went for it with his claws, snapping all around it to try to cut it apart and actually managing to tear them apart.
The slime monster squealed loudly somehow, as it trashed about trying to get away from Rock's cutting grasp, but Rock keep on snipping into the slime's body to get to the vines stubbornly, even when the slime kept on making his exoskeleton bubble.
Some more football-sized grenades came flying over again, and Rock took this chance to grab the blob monster's body and lift it up towards the direction of the flying explody things, letting them sink into the blob's body again. Once again there were muffled explosions, with slime flying everywhere. And the plant vines were exposed again, this time the core of the blob's body, so Rock wasted no time diving his sharp claws into the blob's plant core, cutting it apart. And just like that, the blob's body finally fell apart.
The plant vines went limp, and the blob's body went SLOOSPH as it stopped holding itself together and instead spilled over like a glass of water that had been knocked over.
Rock let out a howl of victory, as he did a shuffling dance while waving both claws in the air to show off his manliness. It was mostly instinctive behavior, even though he knew that there were no females nearby to be impressed by his death or life battle or that he had come out of it victorious.
But now that the battle fever was wearing off, he was starting to feel all those pains and aches all over his body, as parts of his Exoskeleton were finally breaking apart from the ooze acting as an acid and causing it to crack all over. Even now he was bleeding badly, his blood a bright blue color not unlike that of a horseshoe crab's blood.
But even now Rock couldn't bring himself to regret it too badly. He had honestly thought that he'd never get to battle anybody, just as a proper male of his species often did on the island where they all lived. Monsters of all large sizes would often battle each other there, relishing the feeling of being alive and being bloodied as an adult male.
The strange two-legged creature who called himself Kevin-The-Deep came rushing over, asking if he was alright.
Rock replied that he was most likely dying now due to taking so much damage to his body, but also that he was very happy right now. For he finally had his fight as a true adult and would die as an adult instead of like a defenseless and weak hatching.
Rock found himself collapsing to the ground and lay there panting happily as he started taking in slow, final breaths.
~~~~

Kevin sniffled slightly as he held back his sobs. He always hated seeing an innocent ocean creature suffer like this. Even if this creature in particular seemed to be happy dying a warrior's death.

He then ran his hands over the giant creature's magnificent exoskeleton, and saw how it was cracked all over so badly, and that the crab's blue blood was leaking through the cracks.

He then realized that there was possibly no way to save this crab at all, and at that realization, he then started crying openly.

"You sacrificed yourself for us. You're the biggest hero around, Rock." He whispered.

================================================================

A/N: Normally, I would've let the Blob hurt Regan and Kevin. But unfortunately, there were a lot of innocents in the way, and not to mention I did have the roll with the giant Kajjiu. So I wanted to keep most of the innocents alive, no matter what. Ah well.

So keeping the giant Kajjiu in mind, I came up with this.

Well.... They do have those Healing Mushrooms?

The only problem is, Regan and the people from vault 100 is the only one who knows about the healing 1up mushrooms from Mario's universe. Kevin doesn't because he was left behind to rest in that inn room.

And well, Regan doesn't strike me as the type who's willing to give up something so seemingly valuable for a giant crab monster. espeically when they don't have enough mushrooms to heal all the biomass. Unlike Kevin, he isn't the type to bond to any creatures out there so easily, even if they may have risked their lives fighting another giant monster.

So yeah, that crab monster is dying right now. sorry.

Chapter 60--Back To Normalcy At Vault 129, Mostly.
A/N: This was originally meant to be chapter 59 and not 60, but after reading this you might understand why I choose to give Regan an extra chapter to focus on the monster fight instead. this one was also half-done when I decided to work on the Regan chapter, which is why this one is coming out so fast after the other one. XD

The trial's outcome is admittedly a little predictable, and things kind of slows down to a lull after that. I honestly didn't know what to do after the trial was over, because that meant all of the drama was over. But hey, we got some really interesting rolls this time around.

========================================================

The verdict came in-- it was clearly meant to be a compromise in that while Janice wouldn't be let go free so easily, she wasn't to be killed either. Instead, she was supposed to serve time for a year in local jail courtesy of the Buffalo Battalion in Bismarck. As that was the standard punishment for theft, anyhow.

In the meanwhile, the women of vault 129 were to come up with a way to return her back to a normal woman. And then when Janice was done serving time they were to drop her off at the nearest point close to Janice's native homeland using the airplane Iona owned and allow her to find her own way home from there. Anybody who tried to subvert this ruling by having the woman killed would become a criminal in the eyes of the Dakota Battalion since it was their ruling that they would've disrespected.

The Jurors were all quite firm about having made up their minds on that because anything else sounded way too much like a lynching or mob mentality.

With that, Janice was outfitted with a criminal collar around her neck and was warned that it'd shock her badly if she tried to rebel or escape in any way at all while she was being escorted to Bismarck.

Neither Lauren nor Freya seemed particularly happy about this, but to Karina, this was a win because of that.

After all, the best compromises were ones where neither party was happy with it, especially in cases like this. This way they wouldn't walk away feeling like they lost while the other one won. Both lost to a third party, far as they were concerned.

Karina then walked over to the two of them, and put her hands on both their arms as she said, "Look on the bright side, this means things can go back to normal around here."

Both Lauren and Freya looked down at Karina and then scoffed loudly, causing Karina to frown.

She then pulled on her power, asking it to give those stubborn women something to help them understand that this was for the best. That it was better not to give in to anger or hate.

https://heroism.fandom.com/wiki/Power_of_Friendship Roll 19
Surprisingly enough, this isn't an MLP roll at all. This is a wiki page detailing the themes of the power of friendship that many various media have, but most often found in Anime. Especially in shounen animes where enemies become friends and so on and forth.

Effect: Karina, Lauren, and Freya are all given the Shounen/Shoujo protagonist power to use friendship to their advantage, and with it, they are now being mastered into being more easily forgiving to their enemies, or understanding where their enemies are coming from even if they won't always agree with the enemy.

Nothing seemed to happen, nor did she feel anything special happen. Huh. was this one a dud after all?

But at least, the whole stupid mess was done with, they could focus on other things now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hours after the trial was over, it was now late noon and some of the buffalo men was getting ready to leave with a prison-collared Janice.
But to her surprise, Atina and Francine were getting ready to leave with them as well. She had known that they were planning to leave, but she didn't think it'd be so soon.
She asked the two of them about it, and it turned out that Atina already had a lead on her family thanks to one of the buffalo men, who just incidentally happened to belong to the same tribe she did. The man and Atina spoke in Lakotan on occasion, seeming happy to have made a connection with one of their fellow tribe members. And most importantly the man was more than happy to help her find out what happened to her family in the past after hearing her story.
As for Francine, her reasons were simple and something she had told Karina before in the past… namely that she wasn't going to stick around just to watch more weird shit happen. Staying here she'd feel like she wasn't really in charge of her own fate, so in order to gain more agency over herself, she'd leave. She didn't even care that she was a giantess now, but if that became a problem, she'd come back if she heard they had solved this problem for those who didn't want to be giantesses.
So that were three women leaving them officially… while the remaining two, Isabella and Asiri Rose, seemed to be opting to stay with them.
Half of the men were leaving as well to be part of the security forces escorting Janice to bismarck, but thankfully that wasn't such a problem as Vault 129 now had robots as backup security. But there were also a few remaining buffalo soldiers staying here to keep an eye on things.
Karina was sitting by the campfire outside with Isabella, Asiri Rose, and the rest of the soldiers as they watched the group leave.
They were dragging a chained Janice behind the cart while Atina sat in the middle of the cart with other men, who were sitting on the sides of the cart. Francine was walking by the side of the cart, seemingly chatting with one of the soldiers as they walked down the road toward Bismarck.
"It's weird, you know?" Isabella said, seemingly rambling her thoughts out loud, "I keep on thinking that I'm normal-sized and those men are really short like hobbits but then I see things like those abandoned cars out here. It didn't really hit me how big I really am now until I saw one of the rusted cars which I'm pretty sure used to be mine… and it looks like a kid's toy car to me now. Remember those kids' toy cars that they could ride inside and drive around inside? Yeah. Just like that."
Asiri grimaced and shivered slightly. "Yeah, it's so strange. I don't want to be a giant, how the hell am I going to become famous and find myself a good husband like this? Karina. Can we really return to normal?"
Karina blinked but then nodded. "Yeah, Cindy's been working on it, and once she's successful I'm sure she'll be more than happy to help you out. Also, Iona and I've been working on a few side projects which are sorta related to that as well."
Asiri nodded. "Good, that's the only reason why I'm staying."
Her stomach then growled loudly.
The men listening in to this conversation chuckled, and they then asked Karina, "Care to summon up something for us to eat? We're hungry too… we gave half our rations and our meat over to the caravan for their journey."
Karina mulled that over. Actually, now that they mentioned it she was hungry too.
"Sure, why not?"
With that she pulled--
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Fruit_Salad Roll 2
A delicious combination of summer fruits. Made with blueberries, Melons, and Apricots.
Effect: For two hours, Karina gets a huge-ass bowl of fruit salad which she can share with others.
"Sweet." Karina grinned as she held out the large bowl, which was like a large punch bowl filled to the brim with fruit. "Grab a few plates, looks like we have plenty to go around."
The soldiers wasted no time digging in once they whipped out their plates and forks, but Isabella and Asiri seemed more hesitant about eating something that had been summoned.
That is until they took their first bites of extremely fresh fruit.
"Oh, holy shit," Asiri mumbled as she bit into an Apricot and melon.
".... I can't remember the last time I had fresh fruit, if at all. This is so friggin' good," Isabella mumbled around some blueberries.
"This is one of the perks you get if you stick around me. Sure, I get a lot of weird crap but sometimes my power makes it worth everything, especially if I get food like this." Karina said as she dug into the bowl to get some fruit herself.
"Yup," one of the men agreed. "Even the weird creatures you've summoned for us were delicious so far when I killed them and then cooked them."
Isabella perked up at this. "Ohh. what kind of animals? my papa and I used to go hunting out in the wild together, we really enjoyed going after the most dangerous and most unique animals for trophies, and also for the meat."
"Last animal I summoned for them was some kind of weird-looking dinosaur, one that had buck teeth," Karina answered.
Isabella gasped. "Oh my. My father would've loved hunting those SO MUCH."
Asiri Rose looked thoroughly conflicted at this as if she couldn't tell if this was just plain weird, creepy, or even a good thing. On one hand, free fruit out of nowhere just like that? Awesome. But eating prehistoric dinosaurs? Was that even healthy?
"You know, maybe Francine had a point in not wanting to be around this any longer than she had to be. This is pretty weird, despite being beneficial most of the time." Asiri mumbled, thinking out loud.
Karina made a humming noise. "I'll admit this isn't for everyone. I did feel put off by this at first at the start myself… but I've grown to accept it."
That seemed to make Asiri feel better, knowing it wasn't just her. She then mumbled, her mouth full as she bit into the fresh fruit, "Well, this fruit salad is pretty awesome so that gets added to the mental positives list rather than the mental negative list my brain's making right now."
Everyone else agreed, more or less.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

--That night--

Karina realized yet another problem they didn't think of when waking up the others. They didn't just have a food problem, they also had a bed problem!

They had pretty much taken most of the mattresses off the bunk beds in the sleeping quarters to put them together on the floors because they wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise as they were all mostly too big for the regular beds, etc. and now they didn't have enough mattresses for everyone because Amazon women could easily take up three mattresses EACH to sleep if they didn't curl up to sleep.

That was the downside of being a giant amazon, everything else was too small for you. But thanks to that, they barely only had enough mattresses for Isabella and Asiri. What would happen if they woke up more women? Would they all have to take turns sleeping?

"Damn." Lauren cursed when Karina pointed this out. Lauren was still in a bad mood from the trial's compromise earlier on, and this latest revelation didn't seem to improve her mood any.

Karina then said, "Wait, let me see if I can't fix this."

With that, she pulled on her power, hoping for a big bed.

>ring<
https://graveyardkeeper.fandom.com/wiki/Bed Roll 20
The bed is a cozy place located in the sweet home where you can sleep for a period of time to regain health and energy. Note you can not sleep through the night.

Effect: This bed is unusual in that it gives you a ton of energy really fast as you sleep, to the point that sleeping through the night is impossible. It also has healing properties, so you'll be fine as rain after a good night's sleep.
People can sleep for four hours and then wake up completely REFRESHED. That's the other thing, you can't help but utter "I'm so refreshed!" every time you wake up and get out of this bed. This is an unavoidable but harmless master effect.

…………. This was a bigger bed alright, looking as if it was designed for a big bulky man to sleep in. But it wasn't big enough for an Amazon. They would still need three of these beds to have room for one more Amazon woman.

And she was lucky enough to have this one be permanent if the feel of this pull was correct, but would the next following beds she get to be permanent too? She could feel her power flagging a little here, which meant that the next pulls might be weak, aka nonpermanent. Great.

Karina must've said some of this out loud, because Lauren just sighed and said, "just as well, I don't think we should be depending on you for everything anyways. This might be another point towards why we all should go back to normal size. The less we have issues like this, the better."

Karina snorted. "Maria might not be happy with that suggestion, she seems to be pretty happy with her new status as an Amazon. But yeah, I agree."

With that, Lauren helped Karina push the new bed to a corner of the room.

Lauren then said, "you know, it might be better for you to sleep in this corner."

Karina smirked. "Indeed. Wouldn't want anybody to end up accidentally cuddling me like I'm their personal teddy bear again…"

Lauren flushed slightly at that, but she merely nodded.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, she skipped breakfast in favor of looking for Iona and the others since they weren't in the Cafeteria like they typically were this time of the morning.
She found them downstairs standing around the old broom closet, now a portal to another world, debating on what to do about it.
It was leaking a lot of cold air into the hallway, to the point that there were now frost and ice growing around the wall that held the doorway.
Karina was standing a fair distance away and even she could feel the cold.
"We've got to seal this thing up and find a way to properly insulate ourselves." Jocelyn was saying.
Iona then added, "But I also want to build drones to explore this other world, see if there are places we can resettle over there!"
Lauren was just rubbing her forehead, as she mumbled, "The list of things we need to do just keeps on growing, huh?"
Karina did a mental tally herself at that and then winced slightly. Lauren was right, the list of things they needed to do really ballooned practically overnight.
They had to do the following:
  1. Get the Vault as livable and self-sustaining as possible.
  2. Awake up all the women soon as possible so that they wouldn't be defenseless if Regan came back to finish the job.
  3. Make a serum that reverses the super soldier serum, or find some other ways to return people back to normal.
  4. Make Amazon-sized furniture for those who didn't want to return to normal size.
  5. Try to find a way to make Karina's summons as useful and profitable as possible.
  6. Speaking of which, have to find a way to thoroughly explore this portal to another world and get plenty of information from it.
All of that seemed simple at first until you realized how many steps and effort went into each item on the list. Like to get any one of the items on the list done it might take them a year or longer!
Karina let out a loud gutsy sigh at the thought.
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_Shelter Roll 19
Fallout Shelter is a simulation game in which the player runs a Vault-Tec Corporation vault as the overseer. As the overseer, one controls all of the vault's functions including power, food, water, and the number of vault dwellers. To advance through the simulation one needs to increase the size of the vault by adding and upgrading new rooms, each with its own function, and then adding dwellers to run each room.
Effect: A new room is created next to the Overseer's room, one that is completely stocked with Vault-Tec's top-secret project-- a very specialized piece of tech that is very similar to the C.A.M.P tech, only it's a much bigger machine and not so easily transportable… and instead of allowing users to build houses aboveground, it's mainly specialized in creating new vault rooms! But it does come with a catch… while it can create empty rooms wholesale, it needs a lot of resources and energy to be able to use the VAULT tech to create rooms with its' own furniture or to be able to customize the furniture/theme of the rooms any way you want it to be.
The entire vault rumbled, before finally slowing down to a stop.
Lauren turned to look at Karina sternly. "What have I told you about activating your powers inside the vault?"
Karina suddenly felt like she was being scolded by her own mother all of a sudden, and she smiled sheepishly. "I couldn't help it, that one just slipped out on its own!"
A/N: this chapter seems somewhat mixed to me. It's a dull chapter but also one with high-rolled wiki pages and stuff. And most of them actually interesting!
Wow some lucky rolls and a slightly squicky one. Mastered by your power eesh!
This woman has absolutely no idea! Giant Amazon Woman capable of splitting your head like a watermelon with her hips is item 8 on the "Real Man's Romantic Dreams" list!
In Asiri's case, I tend to blame it on cultural conditioning.
I mean, seriously I've seen so many times how men and women both have no idea what the other one thinks is sexually attractive or whatever.
like how dudes think women would love a total beefcake or whatever as shown in this one meme:
When in reality women like the opposite most of the time.
likewise, a lot of women seem to think that men want dainty little princesses with huge breasts and asses, etc. it doesn't help that a couple of men do want that, but then people need to understand more about individual tastes and things like that.
see the meme "What women think men want vs what men actually want"
Hmm, opposite... Salad bread? I think, people sometimes not really know what they want. Because to truly understand this we need to use our brain for reflection and self-analysis, but it is energy intensive. Much easier to get some standardized social patterns and voice them. However, there should be some appearance parameters that are statically more likely to be perceived as attractive and give more advantages. But I don't know how often this happens and what parameters are most important.
You are forgetting something about the Power of Friendship, namely that usually they and the friends they make team up to destroy something/someone truly evil... For example Regan, usually with some kind of attack powered by their bonds of friendship.
That will be kind of awkward when they realize they can weaponize friendship to destroy truly evil things...
That Fallout Shelter roll will be very useful though they will have to be very careful balancing things, but then they will likely have access to skill training rooms that will actually improve skills in minutes, hours, and finally maybe a day. Might even unlock Perks for some of the women, which would be...funny really.
Imagine if one of the women accidentally unlocked a Perk that allows her to shift from human to Amazon based on intent or something, then the rest of the women would likely also work towards those perks to learn to control their abilities.
Thematically it is always one of those who are literally puppy torturing evil just because they like to torture things for their own amusement, this is ignoring the brain fart of bringing back Frieza and having him help them in Dragon Ball Super. Because Frieza is literally irredeemably evil and the whole situation is baffling.
But no, it would be for beings like the Master who rallied Super Mutants to conquer America, or the really evil for their cause fanatics. Essentially the threats that could end the world, take over and enslave the area their home resides, or just really evil for no reason and too powerful for anyone to take out separately.
Usually at that point and against those people, the friends band together and blow the crap out of them without mercy or regret...
I beg to differ, a male friend has big expresive eyes and big lips making him look androginous and some girls in our school bullied him for looking "girly".
they were probably jealous of him for having traits they wanted themselves. or they thought he was gay and were peeved off that he might look good enough to be competitive when it came to the attention of men. or it could be just plain straight out hetronormative bigoted ideas of what boys and men are supposed to look like and internalized homophobia.
but I think it's just speaking generally, not all of this is going to apply to every woman out there. But, there is a reason why anime men seem to be VERY popular with girls and some women out there, and why they seem to be so big on bishounen.
but of course, not all of this can translate to real life perfectly, because what looks good in a fictional world doesn't always translate to reality well.
I think it's because kids are cruel. Xenophobia is stronger than anything else when there is no opposing force. And that usually takes some learning. The unknown and strange must be treated with caution. This program is located deep in the human brain. For its rewriting, higher structures of the psyche are needed.
but of course, not all of this can translate to real life perfectly, because what looks good in a fictional world doesn't always translate to reality well
Amen, a lot of cosplayers do need a shit-ton of make up to manage that "anime look".
And there are reasons of why the fashion models are so frikin tall and slim.
Chapter 61--Testing out the Shrinking/Growing Ray, part one
Everyone was ordered to spread out and explore every cranny of the vault to find anything unusual or out of place, and eventually, they found the new room that was connected to the Overseer's room.
Inside it, there was a large CRT TV monitor screwed on against one wall and computers lined up against the same wall. And in the center, there was a machine the size of a van that was labeled Fallout-Shelter version 2.5. On the opposite wall, there were also a bunch of robots inside their recharging pods, one made for construction work by the looks of them.
Iona quickly went over to the computers to check if they had any information on what this room was, and what it was meant for.
She clicked on a few files, and that triggered the TV screen into activating a prerecorded message.
"Welcome to the new Vault-tec overseer program!" It cried out in a cheery-sounding voice, "This is a brand-new way to create your vault to certain specifications, just how you want it to be! Today, we'll be educating you on how to use the Fallout Shelter machine, and how you can customize your new vault to your liking!"
Lauren, Karina, and Iona quietly watched the video as it went on and on talking about what the machine could do and what it couldn't do.
Lauren's spirits lifted when she realized what it could do exactly, and she chuckled. "That'll certainly help us fix a few issues with our vault. It said we could customize the furniture we make with it. Does that mean we can make beds large enough for us at our current sizes?"
Iona was more intrigued by how it worked exactly. "Wait… so this thing somehow converts mass into new rooms and objects? Some kind of matter converter?"
"No taking this thing apart to see how it works, alright?" Lauren sternly said as she loaded up the tutorial programs that were meant to teach an overseer and the builders how to work this shelter machine thing.
Iona pouted slightly. "I haven't done that sort of thing in a long time ever since I was a kid!"
Karina snorted in response to that somewhat childish response.
But the three of them focused on learning everything they could about this room and shared their findings with each other which took some long minutes of silence as they wandered around the room looking at things and in Lauren's case, continuing to watch the tutorial videos.
Finally, they came together again and discussed everything they found out.
"I don't think it can transform the vault at once. It seems like it'll only do a single room at a time, and that it'll probably take weeks before the room's transformation is complete." Karina spoke, once she and Iona had taken a good look at the machine. and between their technical knowledge combined, they were able to determine that it wasn't powerful enough to transform a room quickly much less do the whole vault at once.
Lauren nodded. "According to the videos I watched, it only can convert similar masses into other masses of the same type. For example, if we put a bunch of rocks into there we would only get concrete out of it and possibly some metals if the rocks had some inside. Crystals and other gems would likewise get converted into glass-like items of similar composition. That sort of thing. So I guess we can't cheat by converting garbage into precious metals. Such a pity."
"Ah, so it's like a high-tech verison of recycling? Alright." Iona nodded in understanding.
"Does it say anything about the sort of rooms we can build, or is it limited? As in, it only makes bedrooms, bathrooms, that sort of thing." Karina couldn't help but wonder.
Lauren nodded. "We can make up to 23 rooms that fit our basic needs, most of them which seem very reasonable. But get this, we can make a Nuka-cola bottling plant."
"What?" Karina blinked.
Lauren then gestured over to the computer, before bringing up a file for both Iona and Karina to read.
On the screen it read:
This document is to signify the formal agreement between the Nuka-Cola Corporation and Vault-Tec Corporation. In the event should Nuclear Armageddon occurs and none of the Nuka-cola manufacturing plants make it through the bombings, then Vault-tec has my permission to create a Nuka-cola manufacturing plant inside their vaults. This agreement is also part of the technological exchange between Nuka-Cola Corporation and Vault-Tec Corporation as both companies cooperate together to work on new technologies for the sake of America's future.
However, as part of the Treaty 41-63 Legal Document, It must be noted that any profit that the vault manufacturing plant makes must give 50% of its shares to any surviving Nuka-Cola Corporation companies in the local area. Also, Vault-Tec's Vaults are only allowed to make the basic Nuka-Cola formula as the rest of Nuka-cola's flavors such as the popular Quantum flavor are still highly classified by Nuka-Cola Corporation. Should the Vaults produce new flavors using Nuka-cola technology, then Nuka-Cola and Vault-Tec shall come to an agreement on how to market it worldwide with Nuka-Cola taking 40% of the profits.
Signed, John-Caleb Bradberton, CEO of Nuka-Cola Corporation.
"Huh, neat." Iona nodded slightly as she read the screen.
Karina smiled. "Well, this is certainly another way for the vault to become self-sufficient… we can set up a trading post outside to sell Nuka-cola."
Lauren shook her head. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. From what I've read of the documents and the tutorials, the Nuka-cola bottling plant room takes an insane amount of resources to build. So I think it's best if we hold off on that for now. Instead, I think we should focus on making better bedrooms and a real garden room. The one we made in the storage room isn't cutting it if I'm being honest."
Both Karina and Iona nodded in agreement at that, as that did make a lot of sense.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With that, the rest of the women were brought in on what the "Fallout Shelter" program could do for them, and Lauren stressed how important it was to be able to redesign and reshape Vault 129 into a place they all could see themselves living in for a good while, even if not forever.

So Lauren decided that they should all vote on what kind of rooms they wanted, although new Bedrooms and a new Garden room were highly important that they should do those first.

So this started up a round of discussion on the future of Vault 129.

After a while of back and fros, Both Karina and Iona realized after an hour of this that they didn't feel that engaged in the conversation. They were both likely to just go along with whatever everyone else wanted, after all. And not to mention if Iona had her way she'd want a shitload of Medi-bays and science labs to be built which she knew the other women would nix the hell out of.

And, Iona had really wanted to test out that large raygun thing that Karina had summoned a while ago on the same day she had summoned Yoda today. It was even on a homemade calendar thing that Iona had made, so that she could keep track of all her projects and which days she was supposed to be working on them.

Karina agreed to help her with that, and so the two of them excused themselves and went to carry it outside.

~~~
--Moments later, at the limestone quarry--
It seemed that Iona had built a small battery pack and a small portable CRT-tyle computer to help control the massive weapon, and was now attaching them to the large ray machine while Karina herself was setting up targets in front of the machine at a fair distance, mostly consisting of large boulders.
As Karina hurried back to Iona, Iona herself was now setting up a camera on a tripod to record the whole experiment from start to finish.
Iona grinned. "This is going to be so fun, I can tell."
Karina snorted, before adding, "I know the daily meetings on what to do about Vault 129 are important and all… but yeah, this is far more interesting. No offense to Lauren."
Iona nodded at that, and with that, they went for a little bit of target practice on the limestone rocks.
First, they studied the ray gun and any settings it might have and noted that it had two labels on one switch and a bunch of buttons on it. The two labels on top and bottom between the switch itself were labeled in this order, "Shrink" and "Grow".
Iona and Karina looked at each other, wondering how they had missed this until now. Not to mention this was implying something about this ray… it couldn't be what they thought, right?
"Log number 34.1, Date is… umm… What date is it today?" Iona was facing the recording camera when she spoke out, before asking Karina about the date.
Karina looked at her pip-boy. "It's Wednesday, December sixth. the Year 2292."
"Right! What Karina said just now." Iona nodded at the camera. "Anyhow, today we're testing out a HUGE ray gun that Karina summoned a while ago. And according to the buttons on it, we have our suspicions that it may be a sizing raygun, that allows you to shrink things or enlarge them!"
Iona let out an excited squee at that, as she added, "but we won't know for sure until we test it! Thus, we start with test one!"
With that, she moved the camera so that it could stand to the side of the shrink ray so that it could see what it was aiming at, and what it shot at.
She then set up a small scanner next to the computer and then told Karina: "Go ahead and power up the Raygun machine now, there's a switch next to the battery pack."
Karina did as directed, and the machine jolted, moving as if coming to life. It whirled loudly as Iona typed on the computer, giving it directions on where to aim.
Iona then ran over to the machine itself, giggling giddily as she flipped the switch towards "shrink". And laughed loudly when she pressed the bright red button that was practically begging to be pressed.
Karina couldn't help but think that Iona was acting like a total mad scientist right now.
The machine powered up fully, glowing as it shot out a dramatic beam of white light that was wreathed in blue lightning. It hit the limestone on the left, and the stone glowed before disappearing completely.
Karina then hit the off switch for the battery pack just to be on the safe side, before jogging over to check for any sign of the limestone. Sadly, she couldn't find it at all, because surprise--the Quarry was full of tiny limestone pebbles too!
Karina sighed, and then called out to Iona, "Next time we should have something that stands out more. Maybe a bright red object? Because I can't find shit over here!"
Iona blinked as if it occurred to her too that maybe using stones in a Quarry probably wasn't the best idea, as there were too many of those stones around to be able to differentiate between them.
Karina jogged back and switched back on the connection between the machine and the battery pack.
Iona flipped the switch from "Shrink" to "Grow", and hit the bright red button again.
This time, unlike the rock on the left, the right stone grew bigger…. And bigger…. Until it was ridiculously giant, having ballooned over 80 times its size!
There was no losing this stone, unlike the other one.
https://pdsh.fandom.com/wiki/Flashing_Blade Roll 8
Apparently, public domain superhero wiki also reports on real-life heroes?
"The Flashing Blade has only been involved in one incident so far, but it was definitely bizarre. A gang armed with chains and knives attacked two detectives in South Shields in 2007. The detectives were unarmed, but out of nowhere a man leaped into the fight, swinging a katana and shouting, 'Leave him alone, he's a police officer!' The sword caught one of the gang members on the arm, and the rest of them turned and ran.
After the detectives were safe, The Flashing Blade disappeared and was never seen again. The only description the police got was that he was white, in his 40s, and had a mustache. So, be on the lookout."
Effect: For up to 8 hours, Karina can now do surprise attacks using a katana. Too bad this is useless right now. She doesn't even have a Katana or any other swords right now!
"Holy shit. //Wow!" Iona and Karina said at the same time, as they gawked in shock at the giant stone.
They then looked at each other and then giggled loudly like giddy little schoolgirls. They even went as far as to hold each other's hands as they jumped up and down while squealing loudly.
But Karina didn't think anybody would blame them for acting that way, because the implications here were HUGE! There was so much they could do with this thing… from making food giant to shrinking down things so that they were easy to move, etc. the applications were endless.
"I'm gonna get us more stuff to test on. We need to study how it interacts with things like wood, food, and other things…. Right?" Karina said once the two of them calmed down.
Iona grinned widely. "You read my mind."
Karina hurried back to Vault 129, wondering when she had become more like Iona to the point that they bonded over something like this. But then again, a shrink/growing ray was universally pretty cool even if one wasn't a science maniac like Iona was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An hour later, they had tested it on everything they could think of and had a growing audience in the process who watched Iona and Karina giantize and shrink everything from wood logs to metal, as well as food, which was how they had a giant boy chok now, even though it was getting on its age and were wilting.

Lauren snorted as they finally completed the tests for today. She then commented as she glanced over at a giant metal pipe wrench, "Looks like we do have a way to cheat with the Fallout shelter machine, after all. And, with this, I suppose we could also enlarge the mattresses to our specifications?"

"And don't forget the food! This solves most of our food problems doesn't it?" Jocelyn piped up.

Iona then spoke up. "Actually we should probably screen the food first to see if it's safe to eat. What if eating the food causes us to grow bigger than we already are? We should make sure there's no leftover residue from the exotic particles that enables the ray gun to shrink and enlarge things."

"You can let me test it, I won't mind being a human lab rat if there's food in it for me." one of the buffalo soldiers volunteered instantly upon overhearing this part.

The other soldiers laughed at that. Another one said, "that's Canamid for you, he's up for anything if there's food."

The soldier, who was apparently called Canamid sniffed loudly as he yelled back, "And there's nothing wrong with that!"

Karina blinked and then frowned slightly while she commented, "I dunno. Shouldn't we do animal testing before doing human trials?"

Iona nodded. "That's a good idea. Maybe we could use one of the two-headed cows?"

Jocelyn then spoke up, speaking defensively. "Hell no! You stay away from my cows! I'm going to start a meat business with them and I ain't about to let you taint any of my cows."

"But aren't they already tainted--" Iona said but Jocelyn cut her off with a loud "NO!"

Karina smiled. "I can summon animals anyway, Iona. it might be better to do tests on something that hasn't been altered by FEV or radiation. We might get a purer sample of what happens to our bodies this way."

Iona pondered that and then nodded. "I guess you do have a point. Alright, no touching the cows."

Jocelyn glowered at Iona as she walked away to check on the cows.

At that moment, Karina's stomach rumbled loudly.

"Um, speaking of food… I skipped breakfast today, so could we take a break to eat brunch?" Karina wondered.

Iona's stomach rumbled too. She then chuckled slightly. "You know, so did I. Alright, it's time for a break and then after Brunch, we're done we should do some animal testing!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After eating some bland canned food stuff from 200 years ago, it was back to work so to speak.
Karina rubbed her hands together and then thought hard of animals to summon that they could test the shrink machine and the effects of giant food on.
Snubbull, a bipedal dog-like pokemon with pink and black fur, with some blue spots.
Effect: For seven hours, this Pokemon is summoned. If it will cooperate remains to be seen.
Both Iona and Karina blinked when a strange creature appeared before them, and the creature blinked back and then tilted its head in a dog-like way whenever dogs were confused or listening really hard.
"Snubbull?" It said in a questioning tone of voice.
Karina quickly got to work sending a wave of calming aura towards the creature, while she spoke to it in the hopes that it was intelligent and could understand her.
"Sorry, I've summoned you to help us test something, and then I can send you back home. We aren't looking to capture you or anything. You will be unharmed throughout the whole thing, so I hope you'll cooperate with us." Karina said.
The creature scratched at its ears with its arms as it responded, "Snu….. Bull."
"Is that a yes? I hope it is." Karina could only blink in confusion.
Iona then commented, "We don't even know the biologies of creatures like this one. Do you think they'd make good test subjects?"
Oh. that was a good point… animals from other worlds might have evolved differently from what they were used to.
"So we need an expert in monster biologies to help us with this, then?" Karina suggested.
Iona grinned. "You're gonna summon one?"
Karina nodded. "I'll try."
She then closed her eyes, trying to think of an expert in that field they needed….
