The College of Jewels (Magical Academy Quest)

...so?

Does this contradict anything? To me it looks like it just sets the rules for helping.

@Wander - any chance of a pantheon list? I want to make sure we're throwing our lot in with the right god!
Hrmm. There are a lot of gods and goddesses. I don't want to tip my hand too hard on which are going to be relevant to the plot beyond any that I've made special note of already, so you'll get those write-ups now. Feel free to ask about any you have particular interest in though. As for 'right' god... Well, it depends what you have in mind.

Fallen Glory- The gods may meddle in mortal affairs. They may empower champions. They may scheme across eternity. They may never intervene directly with their own power. Glory broke this rule and sought to change the world herself. It is said that she looked upon the world one morning and could bare the suffering she saw no longer. The stories are unclear and muddled as to what she actually did, but what is known is that for her crime she was cast down. It is said that she wanders the world to this day, though any supposed 'sightings' have all proven to be false. Morgan Blackreach would know- He spent so much time searching.

War/Battle/Conquest/Strife- There used to be many gods of war. Many gods for the infinite variations of mortal conflict. Conquest was never one to share, and her dreams of domination encompass all creation. Indeed, though she is a god, she is often included with the demons and devils among many culture's methods of worship. Eventually stymied in the heavens, she turned her attention to the mortal world. Learning from the lesson of Glory she found a way to intervene in mortal affairs while skirting the edges of the rules. She found a mortal champion. One so compatible with her that she could be invested with enough divine power that she became less a mere blessed mortal and more a living avatar of a goddess. The Listener is what she was called, for she heard her Goddess and spoke in her voice. Before her defeat at Diadem, many feared that her rule would encircle the world.

The Divine- Less a god or goddess and more... An idea left behind after the creation of the world. Much as echoes of the words that shaped the world are left in the space between spaces, fragments (although calling them fragments would be a misnomer. Each is a complete Wonder in and of itself.) of divinity itself still exist, pure and absolute. A single fragment of the Divine holds immense and unquestioned power, but for a mortal, or even most beings that call themselves 'immortal' to wield one is to invite destruction upon themselves. The gift of imperfection is not one that should be given up lightly.

Anyways, vote closed in an hour. (Not at my computer at the moment, so I can't tally myself.)

Nice try, Conquest, but I refuse to be tricked that easily. Find someone else.

I personally just want to stick to deadicating our victories to her. That and her allowing us to do Non lethal combat well using lethal moves.

Yay we apparently sold our soul to the devil, next time I would appreciate to know this before doing so

She found a mortal champion. One so compatible with her that she could be invested with enough divine power that she became less a mere blessed mortal and more a living avatar of a goddess. The Listener is what she was called, for she heard her Goddess and spoke in her voice. Before her defeat at Diadem, many feared that her rule would encircle the world.

and once she finds us useful enough for her plans she will take over and we will become a willing meat puppet for to control

Then listen to the godess, and tell her that, rather then hanging up the phone the moment she calls. Doing that is really rude, and might completely distroy our current relationship.

Yes because listing to Goddess who wants to take over all of creation and wishes to do so via turning us into her perfect little pawn is what you do when you wish to life a long good life :V:V:V:V:V
How about no ?!??
Also as it is, we have no relationship with her, we gave her acknowledgement for the one battle where we needed her blessings and now we better do our dammnest to ignore her before she gets us killed
I'd rather never have anything to do with her again and would prefer if some players would think beyond 'for the lolz' before making something that might as well be a major decision in this quest

Do you enjoy a hobby of saying that things mean what they don't?

I dunno, do you mean we didn't metaphorically sell our soul to the Goddess of victory, because in most cases getting the attention of a particular god/goddess is the equivalent of this

And it's not like it's not true, Conquest wants another avater, so give her a chance and she will do everything she can so that we will become her good little meaty pawn out of our own will

That's kinda presumptuous to assume that we've been chosen to be the avatar when we've been told gods give out blessings like candy. Especially since we know someone's already communicating with multiple gods with their body. Plus so far our choice of blessings have been shit not the options of the god of conquests personal champion. Just cause you hate something doesn't mean you should misconstrue it.

Updated vote for the Yes/No clarifications.

1. I don't think a God just choses somebody to be theirAvatar in the mortal world, the way I see it, especially because Gods hand blessings out like candy, that they will throw it at random people who want something and who they like and then look for those who will comeback for more, like we are here doing right now, until they are deep enough in it that they qualify for the stuff
After all there was a reason, why the path to witches house in the woods is ofent called the 'sweet trail' and if we follow this 'sweet trail' for more candy we might end up at the witches house and get eaten before we know it
2. We are fairly attention grapping to Conquest, we were introduced via Sammy, the former Listener, hold Sammy's favor, are in the city that has denied her before, have a skill that let's us circumwent most of the cities defenses and have access to some of the Dragons of wealths, well wealth
3. Sammy might have been lying to us about how common such blessings are

Especially since we know someone's already communicating with multiple gods with their body

Yes cause Conquest is so prone to sharing *points at all the other gods of war & strife that are left*

Plus so far our choice of blessings have been shit not the options of the god of conquests personal champion

Yes cause a blessing from the goddess of conquest can't be used for conquest :V:V:V:V

Dude, if it could not be used to somehow create War/Conquest/Strife, she wouldn't have been able to give it out and bless us with it since it wouldn't have been part of her domain

Which is why some people didn't want to associate with the god at all, the more you all go down that path the hard it will be to stop, and this deity wants this city to be wrecked.
Does it? I know its champion tried to conquer it a while ago but he is a god of conquest that probably isn't a sign of anything personal against the city. I imagine he would want us conquering things not destroying them. The city probably isn't special either other than being a hard target.

It is the one place that wasn't conquered by the listener on this planet.
Think about that for the moment.

Her plan was to find someone so like her that making them her champion and then dumping power into them would be effectively the same as if she had an avatar. Never was mind control brought in as far as we know. Many cultures call her a demon or devil because she conflicted directly with their gods. Never was it said that she is actually similar in any other way to our conception of what a demon or devil is.

Stop making stuff up.

And just because you love it doesn't mean you should blind yourself to its faults. -_-
When did I suggested I loved it or a wanted us to focus on godly blessings/powers?
I don't think a God just choses somebody to be theirAvatar in the mortal world,
I think this is your problem blessing≠Avatar. To become Conquests Avatar we would first have to be her champion and not just her champion we would have to be exceptionally compatible of changing divine energys and willing to become her host your asumming theirs no steps between one and ten
at they will throw it at random people who want something and who they like and then look for those who will comeback for more,
The reasons they can give out so many blessings is because the blessings being given out are minor and just cause you have a talent doesn't mean that your gonna use it or that it'll be useful to you.
like we are here doing right now, until they are deep enough in it that they qualify for the stuff

You assuming this was a plot from the start the only reason we have a blessing is cause we asked for Sammy's help and I doubt we just instantly become her Avatar cause he wants it or they'd be records of way more avatars instead of the special exception it was noted to be.

I'm not exactly sure what point your trying to make here but we just got the counter magic upgrade so that wasn't planned for and I doubt we can steal from the dragon without dying.
3. Sammy might have been lying to us about how common such blessings are
True but theirs not much point in lying about it since it's we can easily fact check and lying doesn't give that much of benifit to Sammy over just telling the truth.
Yes cause Conquest is so prone to sharing *points at all the other gods of war & strife that are left*
I don't really get this point since we haven't asked for help from other hod
