The College of Jewels (Magical Academy Quest)

[X] That there was still so much more to learn.
[X] Methodology-Ver1.7

I think it's one think to believe there's a bunch more magic to learn and master, and another to discover that you've been viewing your core type of magic wrong.

[X] That there was always a better way to do something.
[X] Methodology-Ver1.7

I was also considering [] The Twisted Path, but I'm torn between the two and I think Methodology is more likely to win.

I was also considering just spending the points on not-100-point-cost-perks, but the voting thus far shows that's pretty much a guaranteed loss.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong lesson learnt. Fixed.

[X] Methodology-Ver1.7

I like how our spells essentialy become a sort of "High Magic", in which they are conceptually superior to pretty much everyone else's.

If it takes a Monster like the Archmage to begin countering us, I'm more than happy to maintain our general powerlevel when we will be no-selling the Special Snowflake bullshit off mostly everyone.

No that is completly wrong
I never said anything against twisted paths and was agreed on Methodology
I would prefer if you wold argue instead of outright lying
No. Don't doubledown on failure, your suppositions were outright refuted. You have no credibility.
Harry Potter teleportation, incredible useful, especially since it's implication say that it autobuys the teleportation spell to max from my understanding
Twisted path is it's own thing, Teleportation does have significant use even with it though, because Twisted path is all about getting back to reality from Nowhere, while Teleport is also exceedingly useful at putting things Nowhere or Somewhere from reality.

Bullshit Math, incredible useful, basically makes our DS magic nigh invicible, or at least does so until the TA publishes her papers and everybody figueres out what they are doing wrong
Which in turn should technically make this trait useless once she does so
I will say that the TA won't be publishing for a very long time, so I wouldn't worry about the trait becoming worthless anytime soon.

While the special upgrades are tempting it seems to me that currently it would be more beneficial to take all the various basic upgrades and bank some of our points, we can get the high level stuff when we have firm grasp of the basics.

Hmm. Given that no one has as of yet brought it up, I will point out the synergy between Methodology and The Twisted Path and Etherealness. Methodology means that magical barriers will almost never stop the Twisted Path from working and that adding a Dimensional Science component to attacks is no longer enough to defeat Etherealness.

Obviously it's a very expensive synergy, but I thought I should bring it up.

Is there any way we can get another 200 points? I don't think this quest rewards Omakes.

...Though I'm theoretically opposed to giving out massive in game rewards for out of game things, I'm also vain enough that if someone did write an omake I would probably reward them.

And because I've admitted that I now have to have a system for it, so call it 5 points in whatever you want at base, 10 for an omake I really like, and 20 if it's good enough that I consider it canon. Feel free to PM me or ask questions in thread if you want to write about something I haven't given much information on.

Honestly, now that we've started in on the 'mid-game' as it were I'm not really super concerned about it. Diadem is a hard setting to break. Even if you got a few hundred extra points more than I planned for, you would still be within reasonable power levels for what I have in mind for the plot.

Nice, there are several quests where the authors had to really scramble to keep the game on track in the face of additional points earned by players outside the game. Its good to see that you've planned this ahead of time.

Of course this assumes we can get any Omakes. I can't write. I have tried before.

Gotta have to say that after looking back on it that I have to apologize to @Nevill and @Spectrum in regards for the whole argument about Etherealness, I misunderstood it and confused it with being a trait and not as spell, thus believed it couldn't be turned off and would have been a permanent choice for us, kinda like the trait a few chapters back or the elemental pledge, when this wasn't the case

While this does mean that it is much better then I initally assumend and that I take back my arguements about it, I still hold the firm believe that a solid base on which we could expand upon would serve us way better and a single uber skill, no matter how good it is

Just going with my own opinion here.

The Twisted Path and Etherealness both are nice.
How long does the first one take to use? Can it be used to evade attacks?
If yes
[_] The Twisted Path
Otherwise I'll change the vote.

Edit:
[X] Etherealness
it is.
The Twisted Path as soon as possible.
