@PoptartProdigy, how are you going to be playing the races in this quest? Because if you're going to play according ME2/3 politic issues galore... then our optimal ranking for races, in descending order of disappearing if we don't do as our home race government tells us to, and ascending likely hood of doing as we're told as well is;

[ ] Volus
[ ] Asari
[ ] Batarian
[ ] Salarian

Irrespective of advantages or disadvantages... However, if you're going to skip that whole beast of established governance telling our MC what to do. Then I've no clue how to rank them.

Your home government is the government you are presently running. You're not a subject of the Citadel.

And just because I'm paranoid; our MC has no obligations to their specific species unique government? It's all our empire, and no outside influences telling us what to do (if we reestablish contact with the outside at least)?

Technically speaking, you're a colony of the Citadel, subject directly to the Council.

In practice, the Council abandoned you, and should you survive on your own merits, they will find forcibly reintegrating you without provocation to be quite unfeasible. That's not to say they won't try to acquire lines of influence.

That's good to know about our colony... and of our MC that you deliberately skirted around the issue of? What influences are pressed upon the MC, which would affect the colony, and subsequently gameplay.

No, it's just that as with the colony, so with the PC. The PC has centered their entire adult life -- their whole life, for the salarian PC -- around Virmire. They've essentially broken ties with anything elsewhere, in the case of the others. You really don't need to be worrying about me magicking up past connections by which you may be screwed over.

*phew*

*Hugs OP* Thank you... sorry for the third degree. To many GMs would have done just that, and I couldn't figure out if I was just not being clear or if you were just being vague. So, thankfully there isn't issues of past polities in play... which means I have absolutely no idea how to rank preference of PC species. ... dang.

What I don't understand is how Asari have Martial penalty if personal combat skills fall under Martial umbrella and all Asari are biotics and many of them spend many years of they maidenhoods as biotic commandos?

They're encouraged to go on decades-long vacations, with mercenary work being one of a few things they tend to do. But they have a Martial penalty because Martial represents the ability to command first and foremost, and by all indications the Asari don't have much of a military in terms of discipline or doctrine. Individual skill, sure, but not a military. Personal combat is secondary, and usually won't come up. But when it does, being biotic makes them more badass, as it does for all biotics. Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it at all.

You all are playing a Martial-focused Asari. In descending order, your other traits are Stewardship, Learning, Diplomacy, and Intrigue -- that last one of which in particular will be abysmal. I'll start putting together the first turn and post later today!

Many do but that doesn't mean we did.
We already have WoG that we spent all our adult life on Virmire, even putting aside the assumption that she would have gone and spent time as a commando it's pretty likely that we skipped most of our maidenhood, either out of an unusual lack of interest, and inability to get off world with the Rachni and all, or just that we found politics more interesting that stripping.
E: Also what Poptart said.

Kek. Man, if we don't kick the bucket early, we're only going to be 842 if/when the Krogan Rebellion rolls around. Our Stats are going to be crazy by that point.

Perhaps the rise of a multi racial Terminus Empire depending on how many centuries it takes the citadel to push the rachni back past us.
Will you be rolling for how the citadel does in the background?
Would be interesting if nothing else.

As a quick note, folks, all dates, ages, and such will be listed in Galactic Standard, since the Gregorian calendar and Earth times obviously aren't a thing. Your PC, by this measure is actually 143 (1.09 GS years to every Earth year) instead of 156. I had that in Earth years originally for your convenience, but I'll be converting over now.

I shall indeed. For instance, the salarians discovering the krogan depends on which Relays they roll to explore. So they may not even find them at all.

Man our racial choice and stat distribution do not match up well. Primary martial on a martial focused character. Our bonuses are to our distinctly middling learning and diplomacy. Time to be master of none I guess.

Sigh. People can't seem to get over their stereotypes about Batarians, can they?

But it could be worse.
I mean, Batarian was my second choice, I just wanted the Asari first because of how long they live, which will let us build up a super strong MC if we don't get killed off early.

It's a good mix of current ability and late game potential. We have time to specialize later, but we have a mostly solid base of starting abilities to cover us during this war, we just need to make sure to get our abyssal intrigue up to scratch.
