Ugh, now I'm the one who's been busy all week. Glad I haven't held up proceedings - I should have time to reread and figure out something to do tomorrow.

Hey folks, so, my presence in these threads is going to be spotty about best for the next week and a half or so. My maternal grandfather passed away and I've got his funeral this weekend, and I've got my brother-in-law's wedding next weekend. My access to anything with more ability than an iDevice will be on-and-off.
 
Iiii think we can do a little cut of scene right now and jumping into the next scene-whatever that may be- while we say that Bats informed Kathe of what he thought relevant she should know so far.

And stuff?

I 110% dropped the ball here, and I'm so sorry, but it's just been stupid-busy for me the last week and a half; work was busy and I went on-call, and I had a busy weekend. And now I'm leaving tomorrow for another few days with limited computer access.

I am really, really sorry this fell to the wayside. Hopefully we can get our feet under ourselves next week, and work from there?

Starting sometime between this Friday and this coming Monday, I will move you all into your first Field Mission!

This will be something that runs in, while not quite "combat rounds", at least something loosely resembling that. You will be doing a combination of combat, stealth, investigation, all the vigilante-type stuff.

You will be going after a bit weapons dealer meetup at a warehouse on the outskirts of town. If you manage to bust it up and preserve evidence, the cops will arrest these guys and some of it might stick (most of the law enforcement types aren't huge fans of rocket launchers and miniguns being out on the streets).

You all will be working together on this, you can hash out in PMs or here in the OOC how that'd work. You don't have to know all of each other's secret identities, but I'd like to see at least some general teamwork going on. I think @Teron has laid some great groundwork here.

You all don't have to do all the same stuff on the raid, but everyone contributing should be happening.

I'm hoping having a solid idea for us all to work with helps some creativity crystallize for all of us!
 
Not even sure where I am in all this anymore. As I said, maybe a closer member of the batfamily would've been a better character. But lets see where this goes.

Well, how about this. We play out this Mission, and then the Social scene afterward (a big fancy dinner/gala thing a few days after the weapons dealer raid). At that point, you'll have had a chance to play Cavalier to the hilt (pun intended), and if you still aren't satisfied, we can explore options. You're a good writer and RP'er and I'd hate to lose you to having no motivation for your PC.

As for "why is he coming along now", Batman pretty blatantly recruited him early on.
 
Apologies for my radio silence. I've been having a ridiculously busy time with moving out to the midwestern US, getting married in less than a week, and job hunting. I've been settling in and anticipate having time during this coming week and definitely a lot more time after getting married.

I think you give me too much credit. :M

But no worries. I wasn't planning on leaving as such, just sort of hanging around (both OOC and IC) until the plot advances.
 
So, is this still planned or is the whole thing canceled? The waiting makes me anxious and I don't want to keep checking in several times per day anymore in the hopes that something might have happened.

I hope you all don't mind that I had everyone kind of pitching in. That was the general stuff.

You've got another 45 minutes before the merchandise shows up; right now they've got security on-site, and some of the grunts are getting the display areas and refreshments and other stuff set up, all the fiddly details.

I'd like each of you to give me 1 roll. You can decide which skill and describe how you're going about using that skill to get some more specific or helpful information, or preparing some kind of "surprise" to tilt the scales in your favor. You justify your skill pick to me, but you only get 1 roll! Please put both the roll and your "fluff text" in the OOC thread here. We'll incorporate your results in the IC once we get an idea of how well you did.

Feel free to be posting IC for all 5 of you meeting up, scoping out the area, talking strategy, etc. I'll get thing moving once I've got all the rolls I asked for and you all seem to have reached a point of consensus, at least marginally, IC.
 
Hmm...well this is hard. I don't believe I have anything to use in my skill list. I'm cursing not taking trapping as a skill.
