Hah, can you imagine the salt? Poor bastards are trying to play Ymygn v2 and keep getting bashed with an unreasonable enemy who just doesn't give a fuck. Boats? We'll steal yours. Religion? We've got one too! Surrender? What's that?
Wouldn't they celebrate? They found a civ that is a dumb bully who took a strong hit. If they have any warrior units left they would attack us, or have an ally attack us while they recover.

Meh shame it wasn't iron, would have been funny if we got it early!

At least we would be safe from werewolves once we start mining silver.

Man the Bush-Negaverse must be so pissed at us.

We're like a recurring villain that the GM is throwing at them, just to keep them off balance.

lol. Can someone make a nega-verse omake? Maybe Azel would throw us a bone as a reward.

It's funny to think being in their shoes. Some raiders keep showing up every few turns, stealing your shit and your pops. So you build to try and stop them, build a fort and pull off an ambush only to get smashed aside anyway! Like what bulls hit is that.

That they have other experience at war and allies worries me significantly, but that also solidifies the fact that we need to keep the pressure up. Although I doubt we'll be able to deal a fatal blow, giving them time to regrow and get stronger is clearly a mistake as the next time we roll in they'll probably have soldiers of their own and more fortifications set up. The objective here will be to cripple their food supply and gather manpower to even the population game, so next turn we can deliver the finishing strike. Perhaps we can desiccate their religious icons? Our method of 'conquering' is just spreading our religion, after all, so we need to keep the actual objective in mind.

@Azel So, how would vassalizing Bushcrest work? Is there anything we need to do specifically other than just beating them? How does it work?

We have 3 food stored so lets reduce the risk of the attack by bringing all hunter pops.
I also went with Artisans (Textiles) instead of woodcutters for longhouses as longhouses only protect against bad weather but Artisans (Textiles) do that by better clothing and we can start offering textiles to the clans for help.
Artisans (Textiles) might lead to us developing better armor as well.

I did say I want a recurring visit. :V

Ok, I think it would be very unwise to make the same mistake twice and underestimate Brushcrest again right after last turn and I think smaller less risky strikes that dont depend completely on allied support whilst building up our forces would be wiser.
This plan trains more heavy to replace losses and some shipwrights for more transport and subjugating fishers will get us more food leading to a larger army nest turn.
I really dont want to gamble on us depending so heavily on getting hired support and Brushcrest not, especially when they have friends they have supported in the past.
This plan would hold the longhouses back until woodcutter are trained/subjugated however but that would easily be done next turn.

Whomever it was they helped out. Why wouldn't their good rep allow them to request someone to attack a dumb bully?
Because it'd be dumb for them to do so. We MIGHT have been able to get the Antler tribe to do our dirty work once they accept the Mandate. But thats because they essential serve us. They would have to at Minimum give steep trade concessions to get an ally to travel all this way to attack someone in an unknown land with unknown capabilities without Any aid from the requestors.

They could just pay people to help garrison their settlements, they are on the defence so they can pay hunters to hole up behind palisades and unless we can sneak past their satellite villages and experienced scout's then they will be able to get most of their hunters to or around Brushcrest.

Yes, ofcourse. I just don't think they can make people attack us on their lonesome without steep concessions in some way.

Probably, getting someone to travel to the valley of the mountain raiders on the attack would be very hard, but thats not how they are fighting, they don't need to attack to win, they have never attacked us, they are completely on the defence and they know we will attack, they just need to rout our army far from our Valley, causing massive hunter losses and stopping us from attacking for long enough to reform their hunters and build more forts.
