SV Warframe Thread #1: But I don't wanna go on the Solar Rail

So I wished I had realized this however long Warframe.market has had this function for:

Ducanator - Ducat to platinum pricing ratios

Every time Baro comes around, I take quite some time going through my Prime items inventory comparing ducat price with current platinum price (calculating ducat/plat) and judging which items are best to sell to people and which are better to trade for ducats.

No more.

This site does that same calculation automatically, and as far as I've checked seems pretty trustworthy.

Now whenever Baro comes around, I can just go to the ducat kiosk, check what I got and check this list (Ducats/Plat column) instead of having to calculate all that stuff.

Basically, everything that has a Ducats/Plat value of 5 an higher gets traded for Ducats. Everything with lower than 5 D/P value, gets saved for trading with other players for Plat.

There is only one more point of consideration; sets in Warframe are sold for more than the addition of their individual parts, so you might want to keep a part with high Ducat/Plat value instead of trading it for plat, if it lets you complete a set that has a low Ducat/Plat value. But you would have to check and calculate that set's ducat/plat value manually.

Taking that living nightmare of the Infestation, the undead flesh of Technocyte, and moulding it specifically to resemble a normal military uniform, is so funny to me.

Addendum:

Taking that living nightmare of the Infestation, the undead flesh of Technocyte, and moulding it specifically to resemble a non-traditional anime-style armpit-and-shoulder-baring miko dress, is so funny to me.

Balas: We, who have for so long stood pristine, untouchable, have forgotten the urgency of an avalanche of arrows. For we who gaze upon the grazing beasts below, the graze of a bullet is but a distant forgotten memory. We now reconnect with the ancient truth that only kids play on easy. For your consideration, Touhou.

For the people who got her, what do you think of Koumei?

I really like how she looks and her general theme of Dice Maiden/Mistress of Fate, but I'm struggling a bit with making her work. To be fair I haven't played her much, but the general vibe I got was building for range and duration to boost her 1 and 4, while her 3 combined with some armor (since she's surprisingly tanky at base) should keep her alive for most non-endless SP content..

I think Caliban is going to be my new main. Visually he's quite boring, but his abilities fit my playstyle perfectly (though I have no idea what he was like before his rework).

Before the rework, I only used him for evolving Incarnons that required killing Lifted enemies. His second ability was excellent for Lifting enemies without killing them.

So I don't know if this has been figured out before but I found that for the "kill enemies affected by 4 status effects" Incarnon challenge, Nyx is really good for adding statuses via her abilities which crucially deal no damage other than her 4. I did this in Cavia missions which can also add status effects via the breakable objects and completed it for my Dera Incarnon surprisingly fast.

There's a discord that organizes newbie instruction hunts... or at least it used to.

It's been a few years since I last looked into it... I think you can find it by googling Eidolon Hunter Discord.

There's the clans for SB and SV; ping the alliance channel if there's people on and they can probably help.

If you've got a necramech, that can help a decent amount against the tosses and gives good damage to limbs.

Man, you know media literacy is in shambles these days when you get into an argument with someone where they claim that the story of New War was bad because "they made Ballas a one dimensional monster who never really loved Margulis and was fine with humanity dying." Apparently the dialogue in Second Dream and the Sacrifice was him showing genuine love to Margulis and also showed he cared about human society, somehow...

New War's writing was okay.

Unfortunately, that means it wasn't good enough to make up for a lot of the gameplay being ass.

The issue with New War was that it felt like a lot of the story was tied in events and if you weren't there, sucks for you.

(could also be that some people prefered Steve's direction to Rebecca, since that was when the shift happened iirc)

Important story beats being locked behind old events feels more like a Steve era issue, how many people here were even around for the story arc pre-Second Dream, where the main crux of the plot was in things like the Mutalist Incursion, and Tubemen of Regor? Or the Gradivus Dilemma?

For me, the only major complaint was that it felt too abbreviated - it felt like it was a story arc that should've taken place over a much larger set of cut-scenes and gameplay segments.

Which has been a non-uncommon criticism across Warframe quests for me - where it feels like at the end I (or my character) is meant to feel strongly about something or someone I've only seen for the first time a couple minutes ago, or where I've skimmed ahead in a book and missed a dozen scenes that filled in the details that make the climax meaningful.

Don't get me wrong - what's there I've been satisfied with, and there's been some very memorable lines in Warframe cinematics. But this 'abbreviation' does make it hard to immerse oneself at times.

True. I was mostly listing possible issues, so given it was a transition period, we got both the Steveness of events for story, and Rebecca's less evocative (imo) direction.

Shift didn't happen until well after the New War, not publically anyway. Rebecca didn't take over until post Duviri. The first content directed by her was Whispers.

It's funny you link that scene in particular, because while I will agree that it's a very memorable scene and that line in particular is very powerful, it's also kinda disconnected from the New War because if you use Umbra.. there's no reactivity.

Ballas doesn't care. Umbra doesn't care, hell Umbra doesn't even move under his own power when you transfer out during cutscenes which was kinda his main gimmick and all..

Iirc they said in a devstream that Steve coached her during New War and that it was as much hers as his? Might be wrong on the timeline, but that's what I remember at least.

how many people here were even around for the story arc pre-Second Dream,
i was around since closed beta. i didn't participate in all the ephemeral events at the time and it made the story a pain to keep up with sometimes, but most of them are in my clan's trophy hall.

second dream (and the build to it) was a pivotal change to that, huge improvement. (not to mention the big reveal part, obviously - absolutely wild thing to be a part of at the time)

rebecca officially got the role immediately subsequent to new war's release, though it was only announced months later at tennocon. but it was clear already at the time, and subsequently confirmed (and unsurprising in a corporate environment) that this had been in the works for a significant time already, and that rebb was riding shotgun for at minimum the tail end of new war development.

and both the official promotion (feb '22) and public announcement (july '22) were long before duviri's release (april '23). she was in charge for all of duviri's development. whispers was far from the first content she directed.

Ahh important thing to remember tho, he's still a Dax in the blood.

Ballas can just tell him to pound sand and without us he'll be left helpless.
Granted, and this is perfectly reasonable headcanon.. but it's still headcanon.

Ballas could do this, but he doesn't and doesn't have to because Umbra is motionless just like any other Warframe, likely because any amount of meaningful reactivity is a huge pain in the ass development-wise. I've just learned to accept it tbh.

On the other hand, there's some things that would be very easy for DE to do, for instance.. where's my Garuda lore DE?! Where's my bloody tale about the Gore Queen?! (-signed by the garuda gang)

PS: I think one of the latest devstreams actually mentioned reworking the early narrative a bit by giving more context to each planet and each assassination mission, so maybe that could help?

Finally got the shards and ducats needed to craft the fancy sentient killer sword.

and my mastery level is too small
