Huh, that's interesting.

It's a shame this is set before cellphones were really a thing or we could have taken a picture. We should definitely tell anyone we do contact to bring a camera in case it's still here when they arrive. Other than that, we should probably try to call out to it and see if anything responds, but we probably don't want to get too close in case we end up getting abducted or something.

For the hammer name, maybe something like Demon's End or Demon's Rest. Seems very fitting considering that within about an hour of obtaining it we were busy hammering a gigantic Haxil Beast to death!

For names I rather like something judgementy. The Law, Executioner, Justice. Something that plays into being Law and Order girl. Or perhaps the most annoyingly painful part of her new job: Zoning Regulations.

I'm not quite sure what to do about the UFO right in front of us, but leaving it to hover and going off to give Cortez a shake also seems viable. I'm pretty sure that Ian''s cousin would know better than to mess around here, so it has to be Cortez as the only other named movie person. He will either squeal st thr threat of violence or the threat of pulling Buffy, Cordelia, the demons and all of his extras off set until he caves.

I am half-tempted to call him here, with the cameras and all, and shoot something while its still there.

I mean, we have authentic aliens here. The movie films itself!

Well, that was productive enough, let's pin things down. This will be a 24 hour vote, locking at the end of that. As for the hammer, I'd like to let that simmer a bit longer and gather some more suggestions.

Vote: What does Buffy do?

[] Buffy is the slayer, and thinks this thing must be a threat. She sneaks over to get her hammer so she can attack it more productively. Harmony can throw rocks if needed.

[] Buffy is the mayor, and this thing hasn't attacked anyone yet. She announces herself to it loudly and asks it to identify itself and its intentions.

[] Buffy has a lot of specialists. She sneaks over to get her radio, and tries to call for people on the SDCW who might have a better idea what to do about a flying saucer.

[] Buffy is filming a movie. She sneaks over to get her radio, and directs the SDCW to get Director Cortez down here so he can film this. Might as well take advantage of the latest Sunnydale weirdness.

[] Buffy doesn't know what's going on and is hesitant to make the situation any worse. She and Harmony keep hiding stealthily by the shore and watch to see what the flying saucer does unmolested.

Maybe that's how Harm gets her part.

So I think it is kind of clear that this thing came from the movie somehow, and Cordelia's character is going on about how there is a threat to her town. Putting those two together I am going to assume the UFO is hostile and should be krumped now while it is close to the ground. After it is broken or flies away we can go give Cortez a good shake and demand some answers.

Let's not call a whole bunch of people over to our clandestine date.

I'd rather not attack it until we know whether or not it's hostile. For all we know, it's just some poor little green martian man trying to make first contact, and what does he get for his trouble? Buffy going all JUSTICE on him. 👾🔨

Name the hammer Dragons Bane or Scale Cracker.
O wait, we spayed the dragon before that, hmm, well, still could go with that.
The Demolisher than.

I'm torn between this and attacking. Mostly though I want access to a flying saucer. Just imagine the possibilities. It would put ole Rack within reach again among other things.

@DeAnno, I have three questions:
  • When did Angel learn we were the New (Interim) Mayor of Sunnydale?
  • Did we ever warn Angel about Spike's presence in LA or at very least had someone else warn him?
  • When did Angel team up with Doyle ITL (In this Timeline)?

"Oh," Buffy said. She was acutely aware of how covered in ick she was, how bad the factory smelled, and how this was totally an awful format for this conversation in every way. It didn't help that he got to run in looking smooth and perfect. She soldiered on. "I've been kind of busy lately."

"Yeah, I heard. Well, read," Angel said. "It's a lot of responsibility."

Angel read about it in the papers sometime before S3.5E6 (June 20th); Buffy doesn't know when exactly. Also, we saw he was already working with Doyle by then (and as far as we saw, nobody else), which he wasn't in the canon TL (In canon that happened in Angel S1E1); it hasn't been directly indicated why this team-up happened so early.

As far as Buffy knows, Angel stopped his stalker calls to 1630 Revello drive after that episode. Anya and Cordelia interacted with Doyle in E6 but neither exchanged contact information with him; things were a bit fraught and they could read the writing on the wall, plus Cordelia was still trying to avoid demon activity in LA at the time. The upshot of all this is that Angel is totally out of contact right now; such is the way of being double-broken-up, as Anya puts it.

Buffy isn't even 100% sure he's still in LA; he had only been there for a month before she saw him, and that was over a month ago.

I wasn't inquiring for information from Buffy' perspective, I was after Information that Buffy or any of the characters in the quest doesn't know. I was planning a Nega-quest omake (An omake from the perspective of the players of an Angel Quest).

Kill! Kill! Kill!

Next time they'll know to keep Buffy in the loop. Unless this was an actual alien invasion... Regardless, better safe than sorry. :p
If I wasn't super conflicted about the vote, I swear I wanted to vote for every option.

Goddammit, it's an arc about a movie and we aren't doing our damnedest to make it the best movie there could be. I was hoping that making a cult classic would promote Sunnydale as one of the best filming grounds for the supernatural and sci-fi. Think of the economy boost!

Oh well, let's hope we get some killer props out of this. Hopefully, not literal ones.
