[X] Angel got himself into this, he can get himself out. Buffy sticks close to her dad and just tries to help him and as many other people as possible evacuate the stadium.

I think that we have a pretty good case for defensive action instead of offensive action, since Buffy is there with her human father and it's getting cold enough to bother a god.
In that case, I feel like "defensive" would likely only go so far as "protecting ourselves", not "jump into the fray and get involved". That feels kind of textbook "offensive" action to me?
I think if they cared enough/at all about the chipmunks, Lilah would have been upfront and told us not to attack them. The whole deal in general is only kept so long as Wolfram and Hart see it as advantageous. So long as we aren't actively going against them, they probably don't care.
Would she, if this were a setup to get the ceasefire thrown out? Not to mention, her word is immaterial per the agreement; only Holland Manners' (and his express permission) is relevant.

I think I have to go with

Unless @DeAnno feels that Buffy would understand "any employee of the Sunnydale city government" to not include her? (not necessarily that that's even an accurate assessment on her end, more I'm asking if she would believe that to be the case).

We are talking about a firm specialising in the supernatural and particularly the evil/evil-inclined, in a setting where words, oaths and contracts have power. I wouldn't be so dismissive of what they put stock in.

It's also worth noting, as far as I can tell, that aside from the payment sunset clause, the only way the contract is dissolved is by direct action on the part of the Scoobies.

If this were a serious threat, like the kind of threat for which Angel Investigations "lights the beacons", maybe I'd reconsider. But it doesn't appear to be. And it's far too convenient that we're here, with our civvie dad, and a lawyer for WRH as witnessing party, for this to be going down entirely by coincidence.

Buffy's vague guess is that if WRH wanted to end the deal early over her splatting a bunch of ice demons here, they probably could. There are some arguments you could make about "aggressive" and who technically attacked first, but it's worth saying that while Buffy feels cold, she doesn't feel like that cold is dangerous or lethal, yet, at least to her (whatever that means. It's not exactly something she's tested lately.)

It's more a question if WRH actually wants to end the deal early or not, as opposed to waiting out the 13 full months. Answering that thought is a judgement call you have to make.

A complete coincidence? No. But if they really wanted us to break the contract, I'm sure they have better scenarios they could arrange.

I think what they're doing here is simply trying to get a better psychological profile of Buffy. She's changed a lot over these past months and this is them trying to figure us out better.

If this entire fight is a setup aimed at someone I don't think it is Buffy. I think that the WRH scheming version of this is aimed at discrediting Lilah. She went and got a bunch of clients killed after insisting that the ice demons could be......cool, and so could Buffy when she upgraded the tickets. Now she looks kind of incompetent.

IIRC we didn't actually sign anything. Holland specifically brought up that that would not be necessary, presumably because he was worried it would be a deal breaker from a magical law firm.

[X] There are at least a dozen chipmunks out there, and Angel might be in over his head. Buffy better go bail him out.
-[X] She tells her dad to stay put where she can keep track of him.

This quest has been mean to Angel. Time to recover a speck of that, though it probably goes bad anyway.

Angel would be the Tattletale of Successor if Faith wasn't already the Tattletale of Successor.
