Storm Trooper Mafia

A Meow! That's as good as a confession!!

[x] Lynch 1kBestk

Also doesn't account for a potential vig/1shot type role, so not too bad of a communal slip.
I'm a first time player and I noted above I hoped power roles would be smart enough to lie. I mean seriously. It might have been better had no one called it out and everyone simply confirmed they got the same message because then the only information given was Meso making the initial statement.

... People did not take that the way I was expecting.

With the thread being very quiet and nearly half of the game claiming to have not had any events in the previous night, there can be an assumption that nobody got particularly actionable info. A lookout didn't see the murder, a Cop didn't find someone trustable or scum, etc. People are usually willing to confirm that they got roleblocked just to let everyone know that there is a Roleblocker, because it doesn't actually say anything about your own role or alignment.

Half of the thread stepping up and saying "Nah, nothing here" tells scum something. Getting roleblocked and claiming to have not been roleblocked can lead to the Roleblocker revealing in order to call you out for lying, so people usually don't lie about it. This in combination with the thread being incredibly quiet and a decent portion into the Day really helps narrow targets for them.

Like, five people claimed to have had a quiet night. If we assume that those are all Town, and that the earlier number of three scum is accurate, that knocks down scum's target selection to three people. It's not a guarantee, since there might not be any roles that would give those messages to begin with. It could be that there is no Roleblocker or Jailer. But it still helps them pick out a more likely power role.

One or two people volunteering information isn't too bad, half of the thread deciding to tell everyone what didn't happen isn't helpful to Town.

See, this reasoning doesn't work because getting visited is more or less disconnected from being a power role.
Having a quiet night might not be- it's possible some roles will have nonquiet nights by virtue of their own actions- but it's pretty goddamn trivial to be honest about incoming visitations and lie about outgoing ones.

You're looking at it in a void. I already said as much, being roleblocked doesn't mean anything as to your own role (Unless if kills suddenly stop, then you get some questions :V) which is why people are usually willing to mention if they got roleblocked or jailed or anything similar. Combine that with the lack of activity, questioning or pressure from players this Day and you can see a sort of possibility for why.

...I really can't see much of anything here. On the other hand, it's not super important, so I'm just going to drop it.

Vanillas want to look and sound like power roles to be shields for the real power roles. Lets just hope Technician isn't our cop, I don't know how it could be a cop, but I also don't know what its power could be to be completely honest, its a tech guy so mind goes to Jailer (locking people in rooms or something) but I'm sure there are plenty of other possible powers but that could work, that's just the only one that comes to mind.
I would guess the Technician is a Tracker of some stripe.

I'm not sure if I'm suspicious of Meso or not. Did an ISO, their latest post doesn't seem to be part of a trend except for claiming VT Day 1.

I'm conflicted. It feels new, but it also feels like Meso was already told why that would be a bad idea. Thoughts?

I think Meso is more or less making a different than mine but still clear series of beginners mistakes now that he doesn't have ES holding his hand on how to avoid them. In my case I have a bad habit of forgetting the value of null information. Meso seems to be forgetting the value of accurate but minor information.

This may be a smokescreen for a surprisingly risky early play as scum, though.

So I'm just kinda flipping through the pages, and I'm having a bit of an issue with Hobo. He says that his main suspects are me and Byzantine, but that seems to have gone up in smoke as far as I can tell Day 2. There doesn't seem to be any progression on that, he just starts pressuring Nani and joins Byzantine in pressuring QT. He said that he wouldn't lynch Meso or Rosen Day 1, but then votes both of them. I'm still not entirely sure why Hobo was voting me to begin with, but apparently it doesn't matter anymore?

Something about Hobo is bugging me.

Gonna need more from you on this. You are very good at railroading people into a lynch with no real evidence, from what I've seen. And this is weak evidence indeed.

You've seen me get people lynched, but you think that this is me railroading someone?

Take a look at Hobo for me, what happened to his read on you? What happened to his read on me? Why did he decide to switch from voting me to voting Meso after saying that he didn't want to lynch either Meso or Rosen? He said that as he switched over too.

This isn't me locking in a lynch, this is a light questioning of some stuff that seems off.

Anyways, am tired and will be busy tomorrow. Hobo is bugging me, but that comment from Byzantine is bugging me too now.

That wasn't an intent to lynch from me, not yet anyways. Hobo is just person I am most comfortable voting right now.

Some easy explanations for those.
Last night the vote on you entirely died. I was second to last to switch off it. At that point, the options were Mesonoxian and -Rosen. I chose to join a vote that would matter, rather than leaving a fancy looking null.

This Day, I've barely participated- read the thread, responded a bit, but not put in the effort to really be useful. Questioning Nani was easy and worthwhile, joining the QT pressure even easier. Retreading old suspicions of you and Byz is worthless, and anything more would take more effort than I have yet put in.

So I'm looking at responses below my post, and I don't think Nictis responded to my question about what the red numbers in brackets mean?

@ComiTurtle I can't tell if this is an uncharitable read or not. Meso's Day 1 Statistics posting, claiming to not be in a Quick Topic second post, unprompted claiming Vanilla Town, and first post of Day 2 asking everyone if anything happened to them in the night. The followups of claiming not to expect people to tell the truth about that stuff... It kinda feels like he's trying to get info to me.

Wish I had more time to engage the thread, but yeah.

@Byzantine Disregarding whatever I say unless if I present a power point presentation with it is bad. If you've seen me get people lynched, you should know that I am very good at making large posts to showcase why someone is scum, even if they're not. Look at what I say and consider it yourself instead of ignoring it. Also, this bugs me towards a Byzantine Scum thought, mainly because just flat dismissing things like that when you're not scumreading the person always twigs me.
@InterstellarHobo Ties can resolve in one of six ways. The first is that the first person to reach that point is lynched, the second is that it is a coinflip, the third is that it becomes akin to a Gladiator match. The Day gets extended and the first person to have a higher wagon between the two (All other votes are void) dies. The fourth is that someone entirely random gets lynched (I don't think this has ever been done here), the fifth is that both are lynched (Also fairly rare to prevent anyone from trying to game the system) and the last is that nobody is lynched.

I'll give you a bit of quick advice. If you think that both of the people being lynched are Town... Don't switch onto them. Wagons can swing around remarkably fast at the end of the Day, but they usually move onto another existing wagon. Vote who you suspect, and if you can then explain why you think that they're scum. Voting to lynch someone you openly think of as Town is never a good look, and you are on record for thinking that both of the people that you were voting were Town. This is also my main suspicion on Hobo.

I think that's all I got right now, I'm going to leave the thread for a while, might be back on tonight. To everyone else though... Post!
