The Battle of Saleucami

Tyber Zann

---
Ever a focus point for the hatred of many a criminal, Tyber Zann's fortunes have not improved greatly since the Battle of Endor. Between the loss of assets to a rogue Nightsister, who has not been seen since making off with an army of Sith warriors, and the breakdown of the truce between the Zann Consortium and the Hutts in the wake of Jabba the Hutt's death, Tyber Zann's fate has rested upon a knife's edge. Even the proposed alliance between the Black Sun and the Zann Consortium would fail to reverse he steady decline with the Conference on Nal Hutta resulting in Durga the Hutt's death and the Black Sun's disintegration whilst his foes rallied and plotted his death. It is little wonder then that as the Zann Consortium found itself assailed from all sides and Tyber Zann himself found himself to no longer be in control of his fortunes that he would withdraw, paranoia gripping him, and prepare for whatever came his way.

It would be on Saleucami that that whatever would come with the Corporate Sector Authority, the Galactic Empire, and Drakkus the Hutt all teaming up to put down a figure who had managed to cross nearly every major player that the Galaxy had to offer. Led by a former Imperial officer who had gone into private security nearly a decade ago, the Corporate Sector Authority would be the largest backer in this particular endeavour with two fleets being contributed that would include a number of droid fighters and other toys picked up by the CSA. In contrast, it was believed that the Zann Consortium had rough parity with the forces arrayed against it, constant fighting with the Hutts and the Empire had led to Tyber Zann accruing more than enough assets to ward off most contenders, combined with his own strengthening of the Saleucami System in the wake of the Conference on Nal Hutta. Even by the most generous estimates, it would be a tough fight however it was believed wholeheartedly that between Hutt subversion and Corporate arms that Tyber Zann would be ejected from the system and potentially beaten once and for all.

Initial attempts to sabotage the Zann Consortium's forces behind the scenes, whether by Drakkus the Hutt or by other actors with an interest in bringing Tyber Zann, would fail in the wake of tightened security and constant patrols by Consortium forces. Sacrificing any semblance of a lenient presence on the planet for total security, an unpopular decision to be sure, Tyber Zann would make it a point to execute anyone even remotely suspicious looking as he holed himself up in his palace and delegated day to day operations to his subordinates. With the attempted sabotage having failed, the Corporate Sector Authority's plan would reach something of a hitch with the entering forces encountering a Consortium that was far from weakened and more than capable of engaging the half fleet dispatched to lure them out, something which they would do enthusiastically.

Dispatching several Keldabe-class Battleships to engage in the trespassers, adopting a shoot first, ask questions later policy, who promptly began to withdraw once it became apparent that they lacked the strength to best the ships nor to draw out further ships from around Saleucami itself. At this point the rest of the Corporate Sector Authority's forces jumped into the system and engaged the forward elements of the Consortium's fleet, an engagement which they would initially triumph in before the rest of the Consortium's forces engaged. Outnumbered and with the costs mounting, in terms of credits rather than lives as it was well known that credits were far less expendable, the Corporate Sector Authority would choose simply to withdraw and reevaluate their plan to deal with Tyber Zann from a safe position.

Whilst the Corporate Sector Authority drew up new plans, however, Tyber Zann would immediately go about plotting his vengeance. Sensing that it was Drakkus the Hutt behind the attack, Tyber Zann would launch a series of attacks on Drakkus' assets in the northernmost reaches of Hutt Space whilst rallying whatever pirates, gangsters, and other criminals he could to his side. For the briefest of moments it even seemed as though the Zann Consortium would force an engagement with Drakkus' assets over Nar Shaddaa before it was all ended with barely a whimper. Awaking several months after the Battle of Saleucami, Drakkus the Hutt would find Tyber Zann's head neatly deposited in his room, his own guards unaware of the intrusion, along with a note detailing the location at which payment for his death should be deposited. Meanwhile in the Zann Consortium, Tyber Zann's death has proven both a curse and a blessing with a number of his subordinates breaking off while the more level-headed Urai Fenn would taken over and begin making efforts to undo some of the damage done by Tyber Zann in his final months.

Summary

Battle of Saleucami a success for the Zann Consortium with the Corporate Sector Authority made to withdraw with only minimal damage done to either side.

Zann Consortium briefly surges after the battle before Tyber Zann is killed by an unknown assailant and his head deposited in Drakkus' room.

Drakkus the Hutt now up for several million in credits.

Urai Fenn in charge of the Consortium.

Power Plays in Hutt Space

Boss Lauli

---
Elsewhere, the infighting that erupted in the wake of the Conference on Nal Hutta has continue to rage on. With so many prominent crime-lords having perished in the bombing, such a state of affairs is unsurprising as is the plethora of characters and factions engaged in the feuding and bickering on Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta where the loss of these figures is felt the hardest. Some have used the chaos as a way of regaining prominence, like the Exchange which has gone from being a veritable non-entity to possessing weight once more, whilst others as a way of settling scores, like the Huttling, Rotta the Hutt, who has proven to be a terrifying tyke. Naturally, however, there are some who take umbrage with this state of affairs and of those who do, it would be Drakkus the Hutt who would be the most prominent with the Hutt proving to be decidedly against this particular sort of lawlessness.

As a result, Drakkus the Hutt would be the first and only Hutt to take an aggressive approach to the matter at hand. Gathering together a particularly large force, comprised mainly of Hutts and Mandalorians, Drakkus would opt to make something of an impression on the feuding factions by jumping into the system, blowing away at least two hundred freighters, starfighters, and other small vessels, and then politely telling everybody to stop fighting. Naturally some would see the writing on the wall and choose to work with Drakkus the Hutt, Rotta the Hutt and Boss Lauli, the latter a Quarren in charge of the so-called Syndicate, whilst others would take umbrage with being told what to do as is often the case. The Exchange, believing itself able to resist Drakkus, would be among those who would defy Drakkus with it's Jawa leader taking some very angry shots at the sky after being informed of his offer, something that would see these brave souls on the receiving end of Drakkus' temper.

Between the Mandalorians, a large number of bounty hunters, and a PMC group working for the Corporate Sector Authority, which would scoop up various businesses owned by the deceased, Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta would both become utter bloodbaths. Mandalorians would shoot up a number of palaces, the leader of the Exchange would be tossed into the exhaust of his own starfighter, and a measure of peace restored to the heart of Hutt Space by forceful means whilst Drakkus the Hutt said his huttly prayers. By the time the shooting stopped, both Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa would be returned to a measure of peace and quiet, though they were by no means back to their usual selves, and other factions in Hutt Space would be made to pay wary heed to Drakkus' activities.

On more minor notes, the involvement of Mandalorians in these activities would cause something of a stir when the Mandalorians started recruiting slaves into their ranks in the process of putting down Drakkus' foes with several thousand former slaves finding refuge within the ranks of the infamous warriors. This has naturally pissed off a lot of people, which is so normal that the Mandalorians have a song about how little they care about what they think, though it has benefited the Mandalorians in that they have found themselves a number of new recruits. At the same time, the Qunaalac Kadijic have publicly thrown in with Drakkus the Hutt with the warlike Hutt Clan finding, in their words of their leader, "Drakkus less disagreeable than the other nerfherders."

Summary

Drakkus the Hutt restores order to Nar Shaddaa and Nal Hutta.

Rotta the Hutt and Boss Lauli, the latter leading the Syndicate, align with Drakkus the Hutt.

Mandalorians pinch slaves from vanquished foes and recruit them in order to bolster their numbers.

Corporate Sector Authority establishes a presence on Nar Shaddaa.

Qunaalac Kadijic aligns with Drakkus the Hutt as well.

Concord Dawn

---
On much more quiet news, the planet of Concord Dawn has returned to the fold with the planet's leadership answering the call from Mandalore and pledging it's support to the leader of the Mandalorians. Having failed to answer the initial calls due to the distance between Concord Dawn and Mandalore, it is believed that the arrival of envoys from Mandalore have managed to entice the planet over and seen it throw in it's lot with Mandalore. Due to the planet's general obscurity, this has largely gone unnoticed especially as the planet has little to offer aside from soldiers, crops, and sets for Westerns.

ExO Milo Mensix of Mensix Corp addressing the CSA assembly. "We have made remarkable advances, at repairing our reputation with the major galactic powers. Our trade network has expanded to cover a quarter of the outer rim, and has projected it self deep into the core worlds to the gates of Coruscant itself! Our trade missions were once deemed a joke, are now a center of trade that moves billions of credits every day! Truly, we are reaching a Golden age!"
* Thunderous applause*

"But with all our success we have turned ourselves into a target for roaming pirates hunting our brave men and women, stealing their cargo, and our credits!, are very lifeblood! This cannot stand! This is no way for a order to galaxy to be. Therefore I ExO Milo Mensix of Mensix Corp, have released several units of CSAN from their standard duties to make clear to these pirates that we will project our power. As many of you know our attack on Saleucami is meant only as a probing attack to prove to the Pirates that there will be a price to pay if they strike at our vessels!"

* Applause, but it's clear the crowd is little less convinced *

"As you all know we began construction of battle droids as a force multiplier, however, there's a reason why such droids were abandoned in the first place, they lacked motivation, they lacked the ability to adapt. In effort to make up for their shortcomings are scientists have come out with a new droids series, superior to those used by the CIS. In time, I expect these droids were become a vital component of our military doctrine."

Okay Regency, it seems we both have a very large ulcer called the Crimson Empire. We both want him wiped out but we can't if we are watching our backs. So could we strike a deal to stay out of each other's way for a couple turns while an offensive is mounted against him?

Some of the chaos in Hutt Space and nearby areas had begun to calm down, but by no means had all of the fallout of the deaths of so many criminal leaders faded away. Indeed, for nearby space the ongoing consolidation of power in Hutt Space itself might drive many criminals, pirates and others to take refuge nearby. It is with this thought, that many criminal loose ends remain to be tied up and might actually be more trouble for the Kashyyyk region now than they had been previously, that Trandosha seeks to make its defensive Alliance with a number of nearby worlds more efficient.

Actions:
-Try to work with Defense Pact worlds and their fleets to more effectively patrol the worlds and shipping in the Kashyyyk region in which they are concerned, to protect them from pirate raids and other criminal activity
-Seek to coordinate with other Kashyyyk region police forces and other organizations, even those not in the Defense Pact, to keep the region free of undue Criminal influence
-Increase production of Ubrikkian Frigates to act as picket ships and patrol boats to guard against encroachment and serve as an early warning system for major incursions

Group study, rest, and be sure to cultivate a hobby or two. It can be hard to view anything outside of study and advancement as valuable in the academies, doubly so in the trooper program I can imagine, but you'll need some time to just shut off all of that and enjoy being. Don't be afraid to question what you're taught or told, not on a whim obviously, but we need to be critical and vigilant of the assumptions we make and the things we take for granted.

Best of luck cadet.

The Fall of Gendarr and Lott's Empire

Captain Iolan Gendarr

---
Driven from Bilbringi, the fortunes of Captain Iolan Gendarr and General Arndall Lott have been far from promising for the two Imperial Warlords. With the Empire bearing down upon them from the north where Grand Moff Kaine continues to mop up rebellious elements in his sector of space and with figures such as Natasi Penin denying them safe refuge elsewhere, there has been little opportunity for either warlord to expand or dig in in the face of Kaine's advance. Therefore when it became apparent that Grand Moff Kaine was indeed heading their way, with a Super Star Destroyer in tow no less, there was little left for either to do but dig in and hope for the best with Gendarr and Lott digging in at Mrisst and preparing for Kaine's arrival. With their remaining ships in orbit around the planet, fortifications erected planet-side, and every gun trained towards where Kaine would arrive, they would certainly succeed in making themselves difficult to be dug out even if Kaine possessed the firepower necessary to do so.

Jumping into the Mrisst System, Grand Moff Kaine would order his forces to engage the warlords in the Battle of Mrisst which would last all of a spectacular three hours before concluding. Outnumbered in any meaningful way, both Iolan Gendarr and Arndall Lott would fight with all they had for those three hours, taking out six Imperial Star Destroyers and damaging the SSD Reaper, using several ion cannons on the planet's surface, on it's arrival after the fall of Palanhi. Stubbornness, however, is no substitute for numbers and in short order Kaine would sweep the remnants of their forces from the system and move to secure the planet itself where Gendarr and Lott, on the brink of death, finally turned on each other as they sought to escape the system. Engaging each other and Kaine, the two would briefly fight before Iolan Gendarr managed to shoot and kill his former partner and escape the system on his personal shuttle, only narrowly avoiding capture at Kaine's hands, before making for safer grounds elsewhere in the Galaxy.

With Palanhi and Mrisst secure, one of the most nagging threats to the Core Worlds has been removed and Grand Moff Kaine has managed to continue adding yet more territory to his domain.

Summary

Kaine sweeps aside Gendarr and Lott.

SSD Reaper suffers damage.

Captain Iolan Gendarr escapes to live another day.

Mad Science

Colonel Voltarr

---
After having secluded himself on Manaan for more than a decade, the Imperial scientist, Colonel Voltarr, has finally resurfaced after being unceremoniously evicted from the planet. Forced to vacate the ocean-world with all his research, equipment, and experiments in tow, Colonel Voltarr has returned to the Imperial Center where he has placed his unique talents at the surface of the Regency Council and Empress Pallopides. Though the surfacing of eccentric, often deranged scientists is not an altogether uncommon event in the Empire, where mad scientists are a dime a dozen, the nature of Colonel Voltarr's work has proven enough to draw the attention of many within the upper echelons of power in the Empire. Revealing himself to have been involved in a number of top secret...experiments, to use the word generously, ordered by the late-Emperor, Colonel Voltarr has laid at the Empire's disposal more than two decades of research into the Force, including notes regarding the creation of several three-eyed mutants using the Emperor's genetic material, in the hopes of being allowed to continue his experiments. That said experiments have, to date, proven obscenely unethical as judged by the some two hundred preserved corpses labeled "research material" by the scientist are considered irrelevant by some in the face of his ability, in his own words, to identify force-sensitives and "create" more.

Whilst awaiting word from the Regency Council on his offer, Colonel Voltarr has taken up residence in an apartment offered to him by a high-ranking Moff with whom the Colonel shares a history which is now being guarded by a team of misshapen monsters the Colonel lovingly refers to as his children.

Summary

Mad scientist places his services at the Empire's disposal.

Everyone made to remember how weird and creepy the Emperor was when he was alive.

The Empire of Oplovis

Emperor Gaen Drommel

---
Deciding that the Galactic Empire has lost it's right to rule the Galaxy with the death of Emperor Palpatine, Admiral Gaen Drommel has made the step from renegade to rebel with the native son of Oplovis crowning himself Emperor in a grand ceremony after declaring independence from the Empire. Using the SSD Guardian as the basis of his fleet, Drommel has since begun securing territory both in and around the Oplovis Sector whilst both Kaine and Zsinj are distracted with matters elsewhere, taking Caderis, Agamar, and Cademimu with those fleets at his disposal. With these planets secure, the newly crowned Emperor has since begun to dig in and await the inevitable Imperial counter-offensive whilst also reaching out to the New Republic in the hopes of striking a deal that would be beneficial to both parties.

Naturally this has turned more than a few heads and Grand Moffs Kaine and Zsinj are now already finding themselves called upon by their subordinates to turn back and deal with the rather well armed thorn in their sides.

Summary

Gaen Drommel declares Oplovis' independence and crowns himself Emperor.

Oplovis takes Caderis, Adamar, and Cademimu.

The Telos Offensive

The Battle of Telos IV

---
In order to deny Admiral Chart potential reinforcement as Grand Moff Zsinj pursued him to the Raxus System, the Galactic Empire would dispatch several fleets under the command of Rear Admiral Ozzel to the Telos System where Admiral Lee and a noteworthy detachment of Republican vessels were in orbit around the planet. Hoping at the very least to bleed the New Republic a little more, Rear Admiral Ozzel would jump into the Telos System to find that the New Republic had more than prepared for the Empire's offensive with at least three fleets in orbit around the planet along with substantial orbital and planetary defenses. Having already been attacked by the Empire once before, such a development would be unsurprising with the Telosians having spent a great deal of time and effort after joining the Rebel Alliance, and later the New Republic, in strengthening the isolated pocket that was their home system in case of such an eventuality. Such preparations would therefore go a long way to explaining the outcome of the Battle of Telos IV and the subsequent capture of Doniphon in the wake of the battle's conclusion.

Engaging froward elements of the New Republic forces in the Telos System, Rear Admiral Ozzel would allow himself to be slowly drawn towards Telos IV itself as he sought to sweep aside the Rebels and secure the system for the Empire and by extension secure glory for himself after the death of his uncle, the more infamous Admiral Ozzel. This would prove to be a mistake with Admiral Lee allowing the Imperials to come close enough to Telos IV for it's extensive fortifications to play a part in the battle with a number of battlestations in orbit around the planet, turbolasers on it's surfaces, and other toys consequently tearing into the Imperial fleet. The Battle of Telos IV would then unfold in a predictable manner with the Imperials being driven out and Rear Admiral Ozzel killed after the Onasi rammed the ship, causing it to split in two due to the extensive damage already suffered, leave the New Republic free to follow up on their victory. Leaving the Imperials to withdraw to Ord Radama, Admiral Lee would secure Doniphon and then begin repairing and replenishing his forces whilst awaiting further commands.

This would, of course, be welcome new for the New Republic in light of occurrences elsewhere.

Summary

Rear Admiral Ozzel fails to take Telos IV and dies in the ensuing battle.

Doniphon captured by the New Republic.

The Centares Campaign

Rear Admiral Hionwwe Siel

---
Activities along the Perlemian Trade Route undertaken by the newly promoted High Admiral Betl Oxtroe would occur as a result of similar reasoning with the High Admiral being tasked with preventing Rear Admiral Siel's forces from relieving Admiral Chart during Grand Moff Zsinj's operations to the north. Unlike at Telos where the New Republic had the benefit of a heavily entrenched position, Rear Admiral Siel's position at Centares would not be so fortunate with plans to hold the planet being deemed untenable by High Command and by Siel himself which would force the New Republic to withdraw before Oxtroe even arrived in the system. Taking everything that wasn't nailed down and sabotaging everything that was, Rear Admiral Siel would withdraw just in time for High Admiral Oxtroe to take the system and then, having learned of Siel's withdrawal, pursue him all the way to Velmor.

At Velmor, Rear Admiral Siel would finally turn and fight High Admiral Oxtroe with the pleas of the planet's substantial Alderaanian population proving too much for the career officer to ignore. After dispatching most of his forces from the system, ostensibly to save them from destruction, Siel would establish defensive positions around Velmor and allow Oxtroe to engage him rather than rushing out to meet her. Initially the battle would go in High Admiral Oxtroe's favour with Siel rapidly losing ground however an influx of distress calls from Garos IV, Aargonar, and Centares would force the High Admiral to withdraw after it became apparent that Rear Admiral Siel's stand was little more than a distraction. Sending his forces around High Admiral Oxtroe, it appeared as though Siel had banked everything on forcing Oxtroe to withdraw to defend established Imperial assets, a tactic that would work with Oxtroe withdrawing in short order after hearing of the raids and, more importantly, of Kosh Teradoc's attack on Centares.

The raids on Garos IV and Aargonar would cost the New Republic heavily with Siel's gambit seeing countless ships destroyed in order to hold off the Empire's strike into New Republic territory whilst Centares would see Kosh Teradoc resurge with the Battle of Centares ending in a victory for the sole-remaining Teradoc Brother. Taking advantage of the stripping of Centares' defenses and Oxtroe's distractions, Kosh Teradoc would swiftly retake the planet and then, at the Second Battle of Centares, decisively defeat High Admiral Oxtroe and force her to withdraw back to Aargonar yet again. Though Kosh Teradoc is in no position to press his advantage any further, the damage done to Centares requiring significant attention in order to stop it from being a bleeding ulcer in his side, it has managed to buy both Kosh and the New Republic breathing room.

Summary

Siel abandons Centares, taking everything that isn't nailed down.

Oxtroe attacks Velmor, force to withdraw after attacks occur at Garos IV, Aargonar, and Centares.

New Republic raids on Garos IV and Aargonar quashed with heavy losses.

Kosh Teradoc retakes Centares and forces Oxtroe back to Aargonar.

The Raxus Campaign

The Battle of Raxus Prime

---
Telos IV and Centares would be mere sideshows to the Raxus Campaign, however, with Grand Moff Zsinj personally leading a sizeable Imperial task-force up the Perlemian Trade Route with the aim of re-securing this particular stretch of the Outer Rim and capturing the Republican shipyards at Raxus Prime. With the New Republic having withdrawn in the wake of Zsinj's advance, the initial phases of the Raxus Campaign would proceed as best as could be expected with Zsinj retaking Galidraan, Rhen Var, Felucia, and Lianna for the Empire with minimal trouble from the natives. At this point in time, Zsinj's primary concerns would come in the form of constant harassment from Republican forces with Endless Ocean and Republic Special Forces launching raids, harassing supply lines, and successfully assassinating at least two high ranking officers as Zsinj made his way up the Perlemian Trade Route. Such harassment would not be enough to stop Zsinj and in spite of the pinprick raids launched by the New Republic, Zsinj's armada would soon come upon the Raxus System where the New Republic was preparing to make a stand against the Empire.

It would not be Admiral Chart who would be leading the New Republic in this fight, however, but King Raddus of Dac who had arrived at the head of several ships from the Calamari Defense Force after receiving word of Admiral Chart's intention to abandon the system to the Empire. Having lost a father to the Empire and having seen many of his people killed or enslaved by it's war machine, it is little surprise that when informed of the fact that one of his own subjects planned on running from the Empire so close to home that King Raddus would move in person with the blessing of the New Republic. Arriving in the Raxus System just ahead of Zsinj, the King of Dac would inform the Admiral that he had been stripped of his command and that he was to either redeem himself in the coming battle or die with what little honour he had left before then going on to command the defense in person. With both General Crix Madine, many of Chart's subordinates, and Endless Ocean throwing in their support with King Raddus, the matter would be settled there and Admiral Chart made to return to the Pride of Dac and join the defense.

It would be at Raxus Prime, the junkyard world that had become host to one of the New Republic's newest shipyards, that the showdown would be had with King Raddus making the decision to engage the Empire before they could reach Raxus Secundus and risk the lives on the planet surface. Occurring just as a number of Imperial infiltrators were brutally put down by a large contingent of droids on the planet surface, having stumbled upon a large droid facility with CIS markings, the Battle of Raxus Prime would be a bloody one that would have a major cost in lives and materials. Outnumbered by several fleets and heavily outgunned due to the presence of the Super Star Destroyer Iron Fist, King Raddus' strategy would be a desperate one with his plan being more to make the act of taking Raxus too costly to justify than to defeat the Imperials outright. Zsinj, on the other hand, was devoted to crushing the Rebels outright, committing every last ship he had at his disposal in a bid to wipe away every last ship the New Republic had in the sector in order to clear the way for an assault on Mon Calamari.

Delaying the Imperials with mines, the New Republic would eventually engage in the typical manner with King Raddus leading his ships right down the centre of the Imperial formation, playing havoc with their ships which managed to hit each other almost as often as they hit the Rebels, in a move pioneered by Admiral Ackbar. The fight would itself be a brutal one that would cost many lives but one that the Imperials would ultimately have the upper hand in for most of the battle before Zsinj's uncharacteristic aggressiveness bit him in the ass. Overextended and having been harried from Columex to Raxus, Zsinj's forces were far from the most effective which would show as mistakes were made as the battle dragged on whilst the fresh and rested Rebels maintained their cohesion in the face of heavy firepower. The turning point would ultimately come when Admiral Chart, faced with the prospect of disgrace, chose to plow the Pride of Dac into the Iron Fist as it was torn apart by turbolaser fire and damage the vessel in a redeeming act of heroism.

Overextended and suffering heavier than expected losses before he had even reached Raxus Secundus, Zsinj would chose to make a tactical retreat leaving the battered Republican forces behind in the Raxus System. Losing at least three fleets in the fighting, to the New Republic's four, it is likely that Zsinj will be forced to wait sometime before launching a second offensive though the New Republic's inability to effectively act in the region no doubt makes up for that particular sting.

Summary

Zsinj takes Rhen Var, Galidraan, Lianna, and Felucia.

Rebels harass Imperials all the way to Raxus, assassinating several officers, and generally keep them on edge.

Admiral Chart forced to stand down by King Raddus after attempting to flee the Raxus System.

Battle of Raxus Prime a narrow victory for the New Republic with Zsinj made to withdraw with a damaged SSD Iron Fist.

Admiral Chart perishes in the fighting a hero.

Republican X-Wings

---
There would be similar scenes of bloodshed in the Galactic South as the New Republic and the Galactic Empire, with a brief cameo by the Crimson Empire, continuing to duke it out in and around the Inner Rim as the two powers continued their struggle for survival. Although the New Republic initially had plans to forestall conflict with the Galactic Empire in order to pursue a fight with the Crimson Empire, over the objections of Senator Shea Hublin, the Minister of War, the massing of Imperial forces at Fondor, Kiffu, and Bestine would put an end to that. Striking out from Kiffu, Grand Admiral Thrawn would create a makeshift route from Kiffu to Moorja, using improvised hyperspace beacons to create a safe route there, and engage the New Republic's rearguard over the planet, swiftly forcing it to ground and from there heading down the Corellian Trade Spine. With the Empire now heading down into the heart of the New Republic, Ackbar would be forced to dispatch several fleets south in order to head Thrawn off whilst Ackbar attempted to discern where the Empire would strike next.

It would be at Yag'Dhul where the strike would come with Fleet Admiral Sloane leading ten fleets and several Super Star Destroyers against the vital hyperspace junction while Ackbar's forces were distracted. For the New Republic, it would be a disaster with the huge edge possessed by the Empire allowing Sloane to take Yag'Dhul even after Ackbar hurriedly jumped into the system in order to defend his rear. Leaving Thyferra to fall to Grand Admiral Grant, who had been poaching multiple systems whilst everyone else was distracted and proved more than willing to add Thyferra to the collection, Ackbar would briefly engage Sloane over Yag'Dhul after being forced to withdraw himself due to the hopelessness of the situation. The only consolation in all of this would be that Grand Admiral Thrawn's forces would be wiped out bar a handful of ships, having been caught between Kinyen and Javin by forces from Thyferra and Endor, and that the Grand Admiral would find his position in the Empire increasingly tenuous with his officers threatening mutiny if made to bleed and die for the Empire one more time.

The loss itself would put an end to planned offensives into the Crimson Empire, with General Hera Syndulla being recalled after a brief skirmish by the Chief-of-State, and force the New Republic's forces in the Southern Theatre onto full alert as one might expect. The Empire, on the other hand, is riding high on it's victory with the capture of Thyferra and Yag'Dhul being celebrated in Coruscant even as Kuat is swiftly taken over by Prince-Admiral Krennel, who did so under the guise of putting down a revolt by local Imperial forces, and Mimban is taken over by a Moff dedicated to the worship of the Dark Side.

At the same time, on a minor note, Garm Bel Iblis has begun raiding up and down the Corellian Run as far north as Osarian to good effect with the Rebel finding himself awash with more recruits whilst causing trouble for the Empire.

Summary

Imperial offensive sees Thyferra taken by Grant and Yag'Dhul taken by Sloane.

Ackbar forced to retreat after defeat at Yag'Dhul.

Thrawn loses nearly four fleets and is now under increasing pressure to break with Coruscant.

Kuat seized by Krennel.

Mimban rebels.

Grant poaches multiple systems in his vicinity.

Pirates

A Pirate Who Looks Like Nym But Isn't, Honest

---
Throughout the Galaxy, pirate activity continues to surge with groups such as the Pirates of Centares and the Lok Revenants hitting Imperial convoys, private freighters, and more with increasing regularity. With Hutt Space still in a state of disarray and the Empire still slowly imploding, the number of pirates in the Galaxy has only grown to the detriment of all and shows no signs of abating with the opposite occurring as smaller bands of pirates join up to form veritable pirate fleets. This now poses a threat to all powers and has served to demonstrate the dangers of allowing a civil war that has raged for more than a decade to continue going on as neither side can afford to maintain peace within their borders and wage a galactic war at the same time.

Summary

Pirates continue being a plague upon the galaxy.

Ssi-ruuk Continue Doing Things

A Xwhee Dog

---
Several more worlds in and around Ssi-ruuk Space have gone silent after the Imperium definitely did not cut worlds like Rattatak off and then conquer them while using a group of human force-sensitives that had been selected after putting them through a grueling selection process involving fights to the death, experimentation, and the odd entechment before being given lightsabers powered by human souls and told to make their new owners proud.

That would just be silly.

Summary

Ssi-ruuk take over planets.

Sidheach loses all motivation to do reports today and devolves into two sentence summaries.

To: Grand Admiral Thrawn @UbeOne
From: Director Ysanne Isard, Regent of the Empire

For your inspiring valor in our victory in the south, you have been awarded the honor of Hero of the Galactic Empire. May generations hence remember the heroism that you and your fleets have demonstrated in service to the Empire at this most trying hour.

The Ethereal Brethren

The Pirate King of the Ethereal Brethren, Ulicx Jeisel

---
Though the greatest toll wrought by the Galactic Civil War would be extracted by the feuding powers that were the Empire and the New Republic, the influence of pirates and other criminals upon the increasingly lawless state of the Galaxy cannot be understated. Driven by greed and desperation, the Galactic Civil War would create the perfect storm for opportunistic scoundrels across the Galaxy with planetary defense fleets being stripped of ships and experienced manpower to fuel the war effort, previously small-time captains catapulted to new heights as both sides financed piracy in the hopes of weakening their foes, and the damage done by passing fleets allowed the vultures that followed in their wake to have free reign over the carcasses. If there were ever any hopes that these vultures would dwindle in numbers, they would fast be dashed as many smaller bands of pirates began to consolidate both in order to better withstand the efforts of the Empire and New Republic to dislodge them but also to better capitalise on the weaknesses in both of the entities as their constant warring left hyperspace lanes open and planets undefended.

Some groups such as the Lok Revenants and the Pirates of Centares would merely grow in terms of ships and manpower, absorbing smaller bands of pirates and adding their numbers to their own, however there would be several more ambitious pirates who would aim higher than that. One such pirate, Ulicx Jeisel, would go so far as to gather representatives from one hundred different pirate bands operating in the Expansion Region and form what would be called the Ethereal Brethren, which was a fancy name for a large number of pirates, which would fast become a source of terror for many. In the month following the formation of the Ethereal Brethren, Imperial reports would show more than one hundred attacks on Imperial assets in the Expansion Region and the Inner Rim, that at least a fifth of the some eight hundred ships flying the Brethren's banner were bought using Imperial funds allocated to the payment of pirates striking New Republic positions, among other dire facts.

Although the Ethereal Brethren lacks the sheer firepower necessary to takeover Imperial worlds, they and other such groups serve as a stark reminder of the cost of constant warfare and the toll it takes upon a society.

Summary

Pirates everywhere.

Constant warfare revealed to have a detrimental effect on galactic stability and order.

Pirates revealed to favour really pretentious names and titles.

Expanded Ssi-ruuk Report

A Xhwee Hound

---
Having largely been left to their own devices by the rest of the Galaxy, the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium has continued to consolidate itself in the space surrounding Bakura. Materials sent back to Lhwekk have seen engineers and other specialists make their way to Xhwee in order to oversee the creation of planetary defenses, infrastructure, and of the colonisation of Xhwee itself whilst allowing the local commander to go about pacifying yet more planets for the Imperium. Using the so called Xwhee Hounds, force-sensitives given lightsabers powered by entechment after surviving a grueling selection process meant to reveal force-sensitives through brute force, as shock troopers, the Sss-ruuk have secured planets such as Rattatak whilst the rest of the Galaxy focuses it's attention elsewhere to the detriment of those that fall beneath their talons. Millions have vanished into void that are Entechment Facilities whilst the Ssi-ruuk themselves continue to refine their weaponry and their tactics in such a way as to ensure their viability against whatever the rest of the Galaxy has to offer.

Not that anyone notices because the horde of soul-stealing space lizards gets overlooked like that.

Summary

Ssi-ruuk entrench and expand.

The Imperium fields so called Xhwee Hounds, force-sensitives enslaves by the Imperium that use lightsabers fueled by souls.
