The State of the Force
Empress Ederlathh Pallopides
---
In the Empire...
Empress Ederlathh Pallopides, now some ten years old, has continued to immerse herself in the Force under the careful tutelage of the Empress' Hand, Mara Jade. In order to ensure the utmost secrecy for this training, which has proven vital due to the Empress' increasingly temperamental state, the former Jedi Temple has been made to serve as a makeshift training ground for the Empress with COMPNOR overseeing the renovation of the ruins to that end. With a ruined temple to serve as a training ground, the Empress' training has proceeded as one might expect with Ederlathh displaying enough raw talent to make being her sparing partner a death sentence as evidenced by the "accidents" that COMPNOR has been made to remove on a regular basis. Although the Empress has not lost her youthful exuberance, which still surfaces regularly, Ederlathh has nevertheless become increasingly volatile and prone to violent outbursts as she, like most others introduced to the Force with no boundaries and only a woman trained by a Sith Lord to guide her, struggles to find a balance with her emotions.
In the New Republic...
Having grown to a grand total of three members, the Jedi Order has continued to forge it's own path independent of it's past history under the leadership of the Jedi Knight, Ghes Ordo, who has become the defacto head of the Jedi Order by virtue of being the only Jedi with a lightsaber. In between chasing after his current fling, while questioning why Borsk Fey'lya insists on ringing him only to laugh maniacally, Ghes Ordo has taken to teaching his two pupils what may best be described as his "gut feelings" on "the way things ought to be" which has made for an interesting training regime to say the least. Not contenting himself with merely teaching them his current philosophy, which largely amounts to doing the right thing and not getting carried away too much, Ghes has also begun teaching them Mando'a, because he's tired of trying to speak Basic and Huttese at the same time, and generally allowed his own upbringing to colour his teachings. Due to Ghes' own inexperience, these Jedi remain fairly weak in comparison to other, better trained force-sensitives but all who have observed the trio to date agree that, if nothing else, they look "fucking rad" in the jackets Ghes Ordo picked out for them.
Princess Leia Organa, on the other hand, has continued attempting to work with the philosophy outlined within her own holocron, a task in which she has been aided by writings by both Luke Skywalker and the ancient hermit, Ben Kenobi. Continuing her lessons whilst traveling throughout the New Republic on diplomatic missions, Leia has made some progress to date with developing the self-control necessary to embrace her emotions in the fullest, as advised by the holocron, without being consumed by them though it will still be some time before she may do so reliably. She has also managed to master the basics of levitating objects using the Force which has proven to be a really neat party trick to say the least.
Meanwhile Captain Alix Krennic, after being released by Republic Intelligence after an extensive debrief, has begun applying her own force-sensitivity in a different way while assisting the New Republic in training it's own commandos. Still only vaguely aware of the power at her fingertips, Krennic has begun to subconsciously use the Force to enhance her own physical capabilities, unwittingly drawing upon it to allow her to run faster, fight longer, and put bigger holes in solid walls than the less gifted might be able to. As the New Republic has made a point of keeping her in the dark about her talents, fearing that she might well be less than reliable, it is unlikely that her abilities will develop along more traditional lines due to her own lack of awareness though given the Captain's nature, it is possible that she would not develop them along such lines even if she were aware of them.
In Sith Space...
The Twi'lek known as the Crimson Death has continued to spiral further into the Dark Side than anybody else running about in the Galaxy at this time with the Crimson Death having established a residence for herself on Bothsirda where she has begun plotting to kill just about everyone. Stewing in the Dark Side energies left behind by the now deceased Prophets of the Dark Side, the Crimson Death has developed her own talents in a wild and unrestrained way, displaying a tendency to use the Force recklessly in the pursuit of murdering just about anyone who stands in her way. At her side, however, now stands an apprentice, or a sidekick as she refers to him, namedKyp Durron the Red Rage whom the Crimson Death kidnapped liberated from Kessel after recognising his talents. Filled with a great deal of rage himself, the Red Rage has proven to be a willing student and displayed some aptitude for the Force under her tutelage even if he has not quite mastered the knack of using the Force to make people's heads pop open.
On a minor note, the Crimson Death has also bucked the trend displayed by her fellow Twi'leks and invested in a suit of body armour, that covers the midriff and the rest of her body, in order to avoid nearly dying the next time she gets shot in the chest again.
On Yavin IV...
Under the careful watch of the Layer-of-Hands, the Disciples of the Force have continued to pursue inner peace and enlightenment whilst also serving as the erstwhile shepherds of the refugees now living on the oft-forgotten moon. A veritable beacon of peace and tranquility in a region ravaged by war, the Disciples of the Force have proven to be something of a growing attraction in the region with more than a few people choosing to willingly travel to Yavin IV in order to view the Disciples and hear the Layer-of-Hands speak. Naturally the Disciples have striven to ignore such attention, focusing instead on their studies and on keeping the peace on Yavin IV, though word has managed to filter back to Grand Moff Zsinj regarding the force-sensitives within their ranks with a particular focus placed upon the Layer-of-Hands himself who fits descriptions of an ancient race of aliens originating in Sith Space.
In Ssi-ruuk Space..
The Xhwee Hounds, the force-sensitive servants of the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium, have begun to develop in their own unique way. Ignoring the rather obvious corruption by the Dark Side, which was more or less given away by the lightsabers powered by the souls of their loved ones, the Xhwee Hounds have fast become something of a curiosity to the Ssi-ruuk due to their outright veneration of them. Believing the Ssi-ruuk to be gods sent to cleanse the Galaxy of the unworthy, the Xhwee Hounds would appear to have accorded themselves the role of executioners, hunters tasked with hunting down their masters' foes and slaying them in their name. Such worship of the Ssi-ruuk has made itself evident in the markings that Hounds have etched into their bodies, the corpses they keep leaving piled up in the hopes of earning their love, and the reverence with which they treat their masters. Although the Xhwee Hounds are decidedly off the mark, the Ssi-ruuk have done little to discourage such beliefs and everything to encourage them, playing up their "godhood" in order to maintain the fervent loyalty displayed by their servants.
Summary
Moff Yittreas annexes Rothana.
An expedition dispatched by Grand Moff Kaine, that would be led by the decorated Captain, Joran Oannes, into the Unknown Regions has stumbled upon the ruins of a long dead civilisation of some interest to the Empire. Believed to have belonged to one of several space-faring entities that originated in the Unknown Regions, the expedition would discover a planet that had literally been torn apart from the inside out in a cataclysmic event that almost certainly killed all those caught on the planet's surface. Though anything of worth has long since been stripped bare since the planet was destroyed more than a thousand years ago, the expedition has recovered a number of artifacts of cultural significance including works of art and a number of artifacts believed to be a record of the civilisation's history. Said artifacts are noted to depict a gaseous species that spread across a no doubt significant swathe of space before being undone by three-eyed conquerors wielding the power of stars that drove them from the heavens and confined them to the clouds below. Aside from this the expeditions would find little else of note.
Elsewhere the Empire of the Hand would continue it's own exploration with a number of newly discovered planets and species coming to join the Empire of the Hand after careful negotiations between their representatives and Imperial officers which has served to strengthen the Hand as always. More importantly, however, these expeditions have begun the painstaking process of mapping out more viable hyperspace routes that will eventually link Nirauan to the southernmost reaches of the Hand at Lehon. Though this work is expected to take years, if not decades before reaching completion, it will nevertheless prove vital in further binding the Hand together and extended civilised space ever further into the Unknown Regions.
In Sith Space...
An expedition led by the famed archaeologist, Trask Ulgo, and his Dathomiri wife, Teneniel Djo, has made landfall on Korriban and begun excavations. In spite of complaints about ghosts, which have purportedly been driven off by Ulgo's wife, the excavations have proceeded according to schedule and already begun to yield dividends for the Empire which is finding itself better able to piece together the history of the region using finds on the planet surface. Confirmation that Korriban was indeed the homeworld of a red-skinned race that had invaded Republic Space many, many years ago would be found along with references to the species' mastery of various sorceries and other such things which have admittedly been dismissed as nonsense by most scholars.
On Dantooine...
Intrigued by the Empress' force-sensitivity and knowing something of Dantooine's history, Grand Moff Kaine would also order excavations of his own with an eye towards discovering something of value on the planet's surface. Discovering the ruins of an old Jedi enclave, the expedition has discovered little of actual value though the historical significance of the site is considered to be overwhelming with the archaeologists responsible for the dig pleading with the Grand Moff to finance the preservation of the site for future generations.

The Capture of Rothana
Moff Yittreas
---
Taking advantage of the general lack of attention paid to his particular stretch of space, Moff Yittreas has quietly dispatched forces to Rothana where he has folded the planet and it's shipyards into his private domain with little fanfare or conflict. Under other circumstances, such a move might have been noticed or even been outright eventful however with the Hutts still bickering and the Empire and New Republic distracted by more pressing affairs, the Moff has managed to make the move without stirring up anything of note. The Capture of Rothana
