Star Wars: A Padawans Tale: Episode II: A New Galaxy (A CK2/Adventure Quest)

Let me just say that a head count was needed and Papa Palps exit from coruscant… lead to a Schism of Jedi who still idiotically believed that the Jedi were in the wrong and exiled them selves and became dark Jedi.
Lemme guess, Krell is one of them?

Not to worry, Grand Admiral Yularen is holding the line with skill and gusto.
What about Tarkin? I actually read a pretty excellent story where he found out that Palpatine was a Sith-Lord who orchestrated both the War and the Fall of the Republic just as the Clone Wars came to an end and actually became one of the Founders and Leaders of the Rebellion. In secret, of course, while officially still being a Grandmoff.
Did he stay loyal to the Republic here too or did he join Palpatine?

There were a lot of Jedi who up and jumped ship… close to 100.

Yes… he's an admiral now and is lobbying to become Yularens chief of staff.

You joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the Clones turned to write stuff like this to cope. Being placed under mind-control without warning and forced to murder your (for the most part) trusted and respected Leader, sometimes even Friends, is not a pleasant thing...
Jedi Order: Come here guy's your Family now, put down the Gun.

Clone: I need to atone!! I hurt someone I trusted.

Jedi: You can't atone if your DEAD!!

*Hug Clone-like Child!!*

Clone: I have to do something!!

Jedi: You don't need to I already forgive you!!

--------------

Senate: Wow...they are taking what happened really hard. Well get them back to work. It helps.

Padme: Pull them back...they need to figure things out.

Good Guy Tarkin: Still an ass, but on the side of Good.

[X]The Force: The force feels… Clearer… Clearer than it has been...since… Ever in my life… Like there is no more darkness clouding us.

But just remember this that the Young Padawans belive this now:

Revan did nothing wrong.

And that the Jedi and the Republic are one in the same.

That sounds....not good.
That sounds positively delightful!!

at this point, the young shouldn't listen to the old at this point...at least for a while.

The Old got them into this Mess.
remember the clones went through accelerated aging and were like 9 ish when they started fighting, it's cannon that a lot of jedi were extremely confused by the fact that their soldiers felt like children through the force
"HUG THEM HARDER!! THEY NEED OUR LOVE AND UNWAVERING SUPPORT!"- Plo Koon probably.

...I wonder if part of why the jedi pulled back was both to lessen the shroud placed by palps and his master, and to try and figure out how to best actually handle reality after that nasty wakeup call of SUDDENLY CHANCOLLER IS A SITH.

You make it sound like the Jedi are acting competent in a situation…

No it's the senate that is wrong!

The Senate: Am I so out of touch that my constituents believe the Jedi are the more trusted form of government and our entire curropt system has been exposed and we need to change?

No it's the Jedi who are at fault we must investigate them because 100 betrayed the order and we need to root out the traitors.

It's alive! Alive!

I will need to come up with some omake ideas. A republic with a chance to redeem itself doesn't happen very often.

Oh the Senate is asking for a return to the era of the Jedi Lords. See this is why Palpatine had such a easy time. Not because the Jedi were incompetent but because the Senate was just a garbage form of government in desperate need to reform

The force is very much unhappy about the whole… Papa Palps hurting it on coruscant is is going o make things very… difficult.

A republic that can actually reform into what it was in the past is also very unlikely.

The problem is, the Jedi lack the numbers and the will to return to the days of the Jedi lords.

The Jedi see themselves as peacekeepers not as administrators for a Galaxy that does not want them.

How hard is Padme head-desking at this?

I guess one of the biggest questions currently is what to do. There is only so many jedi, the Sith are back, distrust everywhere, so what should the jedi be doing to try and fix the everything broken. And the younglings need to be talked into not doing something stupid probably, suspect they are pretty restless, and with their opinion on Revan....
They might try and go army of Light, which likely isn't that good of an idea.

honestly keeping Jedi as the watch dogs of the senate might be the best bet, treat them as something like marshals mixed with bodyguards. their lack of attachment should idealy allow them to look over the senators to make sure they are both doing their job and not being evil. with the jedi high council to look over the jedi watchdogs and the senate to look over the jedi high council. all issues can be brought before a court and the truth can be found via open dialog.

same with deploying jedi, they should idealy be sent out with a representative of the senate to act as insurance that the laws of the republic are upheld and treaties and deals are made with the good of the whole galaxy in mind. i'd imagine that the officers of the senate would be elected by the people of the system and planets they are to rep, like sheriffs

this does completely ignore the need for reform with the jedi itself though, got no idea there

All well and good, but it doesn't exactly answer the question of what happens in wartime, and/or if the Sith becomes resurgent again for some reason. Both requires something a bit different, and the lack of an idea how is part of the problems in the clone wars. They were almost goaded into unilaterally becoming commanders unprepared for such a task, and they weren't really prepared to handle a possible sith resurgence either.

the jedi should be treated as elite infantry or actual knights, ostensibly under a general but able to act independently based on what the force tells them (this is how knights were treated historically as they were pretty much never required to follow the orders of the general or king leading the army) and the senate should have generals or at least capable officers ready to lead, it could be argued that the NCO core of a military is far more important than the COs though obviously it's best to have both.

tldr: passivists space monks do not make good generals
