Or to make a Long Story Short:

The Jedi today are not the jedi of the Army of Light.

And that is a problem.

I was under the impression that the Jedi's involvement in the war was a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" thing. Because the idea was that the clones would be created and the Jedi would be forced to be the generals not asked.

They could have turned down the positions of general. But Palps used their pride against them. And also, the very first battle was before that decision happened. They treated it as more of a police action, relying on the enemy not being willing to fight an unprecedented gathering of jedi. Except, they had a droid army that did just that, and none of the jedi deployed bothered trying to push into the building itself to relieve the sheer pressure from getting fired at from every direction, leading to an insane death tool.

I need to see the cite on the "Used their pride against them". Because the way I understood it was that the Jedi couldn't sit out the war because, you know, they are peacekeepers and it's not going to look good for them both externally or internally if there is a war going on and the Jedi are in their ivory towers but at the same time if they do come in as Generals then they are actively abandoning their role as peacekeepers.

The problem is that the mission of peacekeeping was when the Republic was unified, and the Sith weren't tactically trying to GEnocide the Jedi with a huge fucking war.

once the war started, the Jedi, at least in the beginning, lost.

Now in canon, they continued to lose. Where as here, Laron Null has saved the lot of them due to luck and just plain old awesoemness.

That is why I specifically stated 'turned down the positions of general'. They could have easily have been directly involved in the war effort in positions other than being officers in the main fighting army.

I guess that's fair. I am just of the opinion that kids are right about the Republic not having their best interests at heart and that Jedi might need to bring back some of the old "Army of Light" doctrines

But some of those old Army of Light doctrines are not feasible in the Modern Republic.

At all.

Mostly because War has changed.
 
How has war changed isn't the same more or less just less tech and the highroll with the more than 50 traitors that was the result of a good roll right? In regards to armour you mean to tell me the jedi never blew the dust of old heavy armour schematics to arm them selfs

THe War has changed with Papa Palps having more dark jedi to work with.

Lets just say things will get very good.
 
Ahhhh so now it has become a clasic sith empire vs rebublic+jedi but i kid. I agree thou its going to get bloody and we will definitely have jedi casualties with sith geting competent force users now, from low chance previously

    The clash of your lightsaber against your opponents echoed throughout the valley of the Jedi as you both collided in a blade lock then backed up for another go quickly examining each other for an potential weakness to lethally exploit. You heard of Jarec but didn't know him back when he was an Jedi, He was usually mentioned by Master Nu or Master Aggruva since he left for the unknown regions before the clone wars started but now it seemed sometime after the clone wars he fell to the dark side and after an getting a message from Aggruva (Who you still don't know the location of!) through the rebellion about Jarec and his threat you've been chasing him throughout the outer and unknown regions of galaxy.

    "When I'm done with you Null, I shall take the energy from here and be more powerful than the emperor himself and no one can stop me!" he said with utterly mad zeal and charged you.

    "Sure you'll be." You snarked back in the same tone as your late master Obi-Wan did and immediately went into an Soresu stance to block Jarec's strike and then responded with a slash which he dodged with a roll and leaped to an higher ledge and lifted his hand up and you heard the sound of loosening stone.

    "It's over Null! I have the high ground!" Jarec shouted while aiming to crush you with the stones.

    "I don't think so." You said and with the force you pulled the fragile ledge out from under him and as he fell you quickly lept using an Ataru strike to decapitate the dark jedi.

    "Sometimes having the low ground has it's uses." you said landing back on the ground looking at the headless corpse before turning your head when you feel an ancient force presence.

    "We thank you young jedi for preventing an horrible calamity from falling on the galaxy but it is not your destiny to free us for it belongs to another." The nameless force ghost said nodding his thanks then disappearing.

    You let out an tired sigh and make your way back to the Ebon Hawk as the adrenaline started to wear off and your thoughts wondering how in the force Master Aggruva was going to know about your success but knowing the old Gen'Dai he had his ways that would let him know.

    As you entered the ship T-3 greeted you with an series of beeps and boops

    "I'm fine T-3, just exhausted from the fight. Do me a favor and get us off this planet please?" You answered while heading to the captains quarters.

    T-3 asked you where to and you answered after some thought "Outer Rim, orbit of Xal 3"

    T-3 answered in affirmative and you entered your cabin falling onto your bed and quickly fell asleep to the sound of the hyperdrive being engaged.

    Outer Rim

    You awoke to a soft beep from T-3 informing you that you have arrived in system and you got up from your bed and went to the refresher for a shower and then back to your quarters for a change of clothing and then sat in the galley while eating your breakfast before you felt a tug from the force as if trying to get your attention. You quickly set down your drink and and sat down on the floor and entered a meditative state.

    You saw the moon of Endor and the second death star over it while a battle raged in space before the vision ended.

    You went to the star map and set a course for Endor with T-3 voicing his concerns "Yes I know that system is dangerous right now but the force is guiding me there. We have to see why."

    You sat in the pilots seat and you were gone in a flash.

    Outer Rim
    Orbit of the Forest Moon of Endor

    Right after your arrival you see the second death star go up in an massive explosion which brings a smirk to your face and joyful "Weee Woo!" from T-3 but something tells you that this war will not be over yet.

    "Ebon Hawk to Home One I'm requesting landing clearance" You respond into the comms as you approach flagship of the Rebel Alliance. "Ebon Hawk this is Home One your request is granted but it's gonna be a tight fit." The Comms officer said "Proceed to the landing bay."

    You let T-3 guide the ship in while you straighten your jedi robes and make sure you look presentable. You feel the ship land and the ramp to exit the Ebon Hawk lowers and you see two familiar faces Senator Mon Mothma one of the higher ups of the Rebellion and surprisingly Ahsoka Tano, an old friend.

    "It's good to see you two." You say with a smile and greet Mon Mothma with a handshake and Ahoska a hug.

    "Good to see you as well Laron." Ahsoka replies "Did the force guide you here too?"

    "Yes. I don't know why but I was brought here." You say while you three begin to walk to the bridge of the ship while getting some stares from some the crew members. It's not every day you see someone part of an order thought extinct.

    Once you arrive at the bridge you settle into conversation with Ahsoka while Mon Mothma attends to her duties.

    While making conversation with Ahsoka doing some minute work on the bridge you feel a familiar force that you haven't felt in twenty-three years and freeze in place and both of you over hear Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar "He's brought him on board?" "Is he insane?!"

    You and Ahoska only share one look before you both leave the room having to restrain yourselves to stop breaking into a run.

    Once you two arrive at the hanger bay you and Ahsoka move through the crowd seeing a young boy with sandy blond hair, a young woman with brown hair and a man with black skin and black hair carrying an man in black armor that Ahsoka and you shared a past with.

    "Let me help." You say to the black haired man and grab a leg while Ahsoka grabs a wheeled stretcher to put the intensely wounded former sith lord on.

    "Ahsoka...Laron..." He wheezes out while your small group quickly wheel him to the ships medbay

    "Don't speak Anakin. Save your strength." You say while the young man and young woman look at you and Ahsoka with quizzical looks at your words.

    "They look like their parents" You think to yourself while Ahsoka starts to quickly argue with the ships doctor before Mon Mothma arrives and orders them to put the wounded man in the bacta tank since as Palpatine's enforcer he could have vital information that could help the rebellion and you suck in a breath looking at what your friend has become beneath the armor.

    After he is put in you and Ahsoka turn to the young duo and say "Right, I believe it's time for an introduction and an explanation."

    (Sometime later)

    You look at Luke,Leia's and Ahsoka's expressions with some amusement considering the circumstances.

    "Huh, Makes sense now that I think about it." Ahsoka says putting her chin on her hand in thought "and you only learned about the marriage because one her handmaidens was murdered?"

    "Yes, I was basically sworn to secrecy after I learned about it. I tried to see if their was a loophole in the laws but I couldn't find anything."

    "I should've stayed." Ahsoka said

    "Anakin respected your choice and Palpatine outplayed everyone." You responded

    Ahsoka nods at that and you turn to the twins with a sad smile on your face. "You know your mother died believing there was still good in your father. It gladdens me to see that she was right." With that said everyone decides to take their leave and go about their day while you take one last look at the bacta tank.

    (timeskip)

    You look out the window of Home One frustrated with Mon Mothma, Luke and Leia with Han,Chewie,Ahsoka and Lando behind you.

    "We can't expect the imperial fleet to remain in disarray. They'll rally quickly with the emperor still out there." Luke says to Mon Mothma

    "We've seen no sign of activity are you certain that the emperor is still alive?" She queries

    "If he were dead, we'd feel it. That means we have to go out and find him before he finds us." He responds back

    "You can count on me to help." You say for yourself while Ahsoka replied she had other business to attend to but would keep an eye out for information on Palpatine's whereabouts.

    "Count us in!" Lando replies while Han who is suffering from blindness from being stuck in carbonite replies says "Yeah, Turns out I'm still a pretty good shot."

    "I'll help as well..." a voice you haven't heard for many years replies as Anakin enters the room. "I may be of some use in locating my former master."

    "With all of us together, Father, The Emperor doesn't stand a chance. No chance at all!" Luke says while you and Ahsoka walk up to him.

    "It's good to have you back Master." Ahsoka says with a glad tone

    "It'll be just like old times." You say with a smirk.

    "It's good to be back you two." Anakin says with a smile.

    A/N: took a small bit of dialogue at the end there from Star Wars:Infinities- Return of the Jedi #4 which is a "what if" comic for this omake. I highly recommend reading it.
