(personally in favour, but GIRL MARCOBIN gang feels like they'd want National Assembly Supremacy)

Common sense limits is a tough choice, but I think we need it to stop the Monarchists from trying to relitigate the issue forever , and to keep a lid on anti-republican operations being sent in from Austria and Russia.

We must not pretend that the existence of trans people or gay people is something that is up to debate.
I don't get what you are trying to say with this honestly , the vote as the QM said is to

What? No. This is a broader ban on anti-republican expression as opposed to a targeted ban on anti-republican parties and advocacy of the violent overthrow of the state. The second thing is already in the constitution.
It's more a vote for " you can't criticize the state and other democrats apparatus" vs " you can criticize, but you can't propose an overthrow and vote for Xs nondemocratic parties" etc
At least that's how I interpreted

My concern political right vote is that "defend the Republic from those forces seeking its destruction" is far too wide of a definition. Taking at face value, this might mean we would have to ban anarchist publication since they sought the eventually dissolution of the state. Also, as other point out, it has nothing to say about hate speech, so it's not like that will stop people from being racist or sexist.

They're not small yet? We haven't seized property in territory that wasn't held by the UF yet. We're going to need this law to finish the work of restructuring our gains in the east. It's likely we'll need it again if we gain any new territory too.

I wasn't actively participate in the quest back then, but wasn't the peace treaty said there will be compensation for the seizure? Or was that more of general propose that got changed later?

No it's not!?

Our system is a multiparty democracy. That's not something you can brush off as OOC while looking at the other parts of it IC. It's integral to it.
I really have zero stake in things by this point, but I think that's honestly going to be part of the problem. Politics have the chance of being incredibly ugly- between the recall and the referendum it will potentially never stop being campaign season, the moment a delegate goes to a national assembly their opposition is going to undermine them and pounce the moment the public loses a bit of support. You're going to have fiercely competitive politicians filibustering and sabotaging each other's programs in a bid to get a turn at the wheel- because you need to deny your enemies as many victories as possible given the inherent instability of your position, and the churn is going to be utterly horrifying as there's no incentive for a party to ever stop campaigning against the opposition and parties demand ever stricter party discipline to retain coherence over broad areas that are insanely competitive on the ground.

Then we risk seeing the politicians conclude that the solution to this is to bring the battlefield into the zoning of electoral districts, and everything runs the risk of being gerrymandered into party strongholds where competition's no longer the order of the day. I'm probably going to get lambasted as undemocratic for this, and I could be fearing the worse- but I think by creating such a politically competitive environment on the ground level, we've lessened the ability for an average citizen to get involved in favor of ultra-dedicated party elites centered around increasingly powerful party machines due to the sheer ferocity of local elections and the ease by which your political opponents can oust you being an extreme case of political natural selection.

Simply put, if electoral victory margins are a few percent, the losers have no incentive to stop campaigning once the winner has 'won'. And considering there will always be far more losers than winners given most votes will be won on pluralities, it's going to be a political game of king of the hill. The worst case scenario is tons of gridlock and self-defeating turnover leading into a gerrymandered mess, but I think even a better case scenario basically involves the need for some kind of coalition governments all the way down to the most local of elections just to try and remain stable.

I hope it works out for everyone, but I'm a bit skeptical.

[X] [ECON] The guarantees in the preamble are sufficient to establish the Republic's interests in the welfare of the citizenry.

[X] [LOCAL] Cities, communes, and towns should possess limited enumerated rights and responsibilities separate from the power of the national government.

I feel like no compensation is just going to result in a bunch of Statists nationalizing co-ops and worker owned factories. Private Capitalists have been defeated, the bigger threat are now those who like the tyranny of the state and will wish to establish Bureaucratic State Capitalism.

Why do everyone keep saying capitalists have already been defeated? We haven't seized property in any of the territories the NC was still holding when they surrendered.

What you're voting for is capitalism continuing to exist because we can't afford to strike the decisive blow against it, or the workers we have yet to liberate having to pay for their own liberation.

Is Prussia still around as a Rump state? I completely lost track of what the map of Europe looks like atm.

No, the German Republic conquered all remaining parts of the Kingdom of Prussia during the January Uprising in Poland, in a move that was referred to as "A betrayal of all free people" and "an infamous contract with the Devil incarnate, signed in the blood of the innocent citizens of Poland."

The events of January 1869

I guess some of us are just less enthusiastic about a centralised and bureaucratic authoritarianism.
