Springbreaker - A Forever Winter Planquest

Hmmm, there is this spread of concept art where on the left are clearly Euraskan concepts units and on the left Eurasians, with some scavs in the middle. I wish I could link it here. Anyway, in that one, the toothy recovery mech is on the Eurasian side, which I think is an easy way to give them a recovery unit.

One thing is the presence of "scramblers" which are basically super method up cyborgs/zombies that sprint/leap/crawl at you and are fucking terrifying compared to everything else. It's why I always keep a shotgun on hand because they outpace everything else by a lot and do insane damage. Also shotgun is the real MVP in game.

Well shotguns and zombies are a classic combination for a reason.

If you still prefer it being a three-way war, you can just invent a different method of body collection for Eurasia.

Frankly I like to think Eurasia and Euraska are tentative allies on Lost Angels in order to retrieve whatever prize lays on the city but in the moment something valuable crops up all bets are off.

In essence Eurasia and Euruska have something of a gentlemen's agrement to carve up Europa territories among themselves, although after the moment Europa is defeated, it's likely they would fully focus in killing each other.

Or it could simply be the case that Mother Courage was so much better then native Eurasian recyclers that they went "fuck it, we are stealing this bitch" and reverse engineered it.

Fantastic news for everyone, which is a list of faction-aligned NPCs in the game. This list does not include any exceptionally heavy units that aren't implemented yet, but they should be a good point of reference for image writers. That is to say, the selection here probably represents what most people could spot while slogging through the mud instead of the building-sized monstrosities beyond mortal comprehension. I have, however, bolded entries I found the most interesting or relevant to the quest.

You can threadmark this or choose not to. I just hope this is helpful for anyone who's afraid of contradicting the setting when they write.

Soldier: Basic conscript.

Sniper: Guess.

Spotter: Keep Guessing

Elite Soldier: EAAF regular. Better than conscripts.

EOD Soldier: An EAAF specialty. So named for the recycled heavy armor they carry into battle, rather than their actual job. Think CoD Juggernauts.

GRINN: Europan special forces. These guys are hardcore, wielding a semiautomatic SCAR-H chambered in .50 BMG.

Bodyguard: Exactly what it sounds like. Escort for HVTs.

Officer: The guys bodyguards are responsible for.

Pyro: Use recycled space suits to provide resistance to their own incendiary weaponry.

Tormentor: A heavily armored one-man army and possibly the best individual soldiers among this faction. If you see a Tormenter, it means that Europa fucking hates you.

EXO: Standby for titanfall.

Medium Mech: Exactly what you think they are.

Pilot: Mechs are manned.

Tank: This is a tank.

Corpse Tank: This is a tank with human corpses strapped to it. Europans can be morbid too.

Turret: What do you think?

Drone: Clunky and silly looking UAVs. Probably because of technological degradation.

Infantry: Cyberpunk foot soldiers with cutting edge armor and weapons.

Cyborg: These zombies are perhaps some of the most recognizable NPCs in the game.

Brawler: Not all cyborgs go naked into battle. Brawlers charge in with exceptionally thick armor plating bolted to their frames. More expendable than the EXOs and Orgamechs in their weight class. Think the Soldats from Resident Evil 8.

Bomber: They drop the cyborgs.

Mother Courage: They recycle the cyborgs.

Super Hind: A symbiosis of man and machine. Piloted by AI, while a living person mans the gun.

Drone: More sophisticated and better armed than Europan drones. Essentially flying machine gun nests.

Infantry: Better than Europa and worse than Eurasia.

Armored Infantry: A more sophisticated version of Europan EODs. Namely because their armor isn't salvaged from bomb defusal surplus.

Rider: Light skirmishers. Possibly special forces.

Officer: No, they don't look like 40k Commisars.

Stalker: Quadrupedal infantry killer controlled by a living person's head installed inside. Fast and highly aggressive.

Tank: This is another tank.

Orgamech: The Euruskan answer to the EXO and Eurasian Brawler. They're basically Adeptus Astartes adapted to Forever Winter.

Euruskan Medium Mech: Better than Europa's.

Pilot: Happy he's not a European pilot.

"Toothy": Non-rogue copies of the insane autonomous war bot exist.

Drone: Everyone has UAVs.

If you've noticed that Europa's list of specialized stuff is longer than the other two, this is because Eurasia and Euruska are the only two factions in gameplay that occasionally work together. It's also because the basic cyborg has many unlisted variants.
A few more things but Eurasia has "Assaulters" with automatic shotguns and other high end kit. There's are also elite brawlers that just one shot anything they punch.

Arizona, may I have some metal?

No.

I am starving, brother. The war is at our doorstep.

As am I, brother. Eurasia and Euraska have cast their eyes on me. ME, BROTHER. I believe they will strike soon, and I must prepare. The metal is mine, for they have taken a liking to my lands.

No, brother, I have seen this before. I have witnessed much, far beyond the oceans. You are not Europa's favored child, Arizona. You are a fool if you think your metal will save you. They will overcome you when they have no one left to conquer. Do you not see? We are bound together by Europa's will. They will do terrible things to you, brother.

LIES! YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND, CALIFORNIA. YOU ARE A FOOL, AND YOU SHALL BE LEFT IN THE RUINS OF YOUR OWN HUBRIS.

No, brother, you must believe me. Share your metal with me, and together we can weather the storm. Without unity, we will both be consumed. Your metal will not be enough to shield you when Eurasia and Euraska come for your gates. You will perish, Arizona, just as others have before you.

AHA! SO THIS WAS YOUR PLAN ALL ALONG! You wish to drain my metals for your own survival. You truly are despicable, California. I will not give in to your schemes. The metal is mine, and I will use it to prepare for the storm to come.

Brother, I have seen the storm. I have fought it, and I know its fury. When they came from the western lands beyond the ocean, they did not seek alliance or mercy. I was there, beyond the oceans. I saw what they did to the lands that once stood defiant. They consumed them, brother. They ground them into dust and iron. Eurasia, Euraska, both seek to devour us. They will not stop. They will not leave you in peace once I fall. They feast on conquest. They will strip you of your metals and your lands, just as they have done to countless others.

Your tale amuses me, brother, but it does not convince me. I shall guard my own and wait for the time of reckoning, alone. Perhaps then, Europa will smile upon me. I will forge my path, without you.

I am sorry for you, brother. You are blind to the truth that looms over us all. You cling to your metal like a prisoner to false hope. When Eurasia and Euraska come, and your walls fall, I will mourn for you. But I will stand, for Europa wills it. I will survive, and I will win this war. Even without your metal....However, brother, I do possess something else.

Oh?

Yes, brother. Capital goods, the finest you have ever seen. New electronic systems, high-efficiency processors, advanced manufacturing tools. All of it, fresh from my factories. It would be a shame to waste them when you could use them to prepare. After all, metal is nothing without the means to shape it.

Hmm... Advanced goods, you say?

Indeed, brother. The best Europa has to offer. With these tools, you will be ready for any threat, long before it reaches your doorstep.

Well, brother, perhaps I was... hasty. I do have some metal reserves I could spare, of course. For the sake of Europa, and for proper preparation, I would be willing to trade. Yes, I think this is a fair deal, brother. Let us begin.

Ah, brother, I knew we would see eye to eye. Europa wills it.

The towering factory VI raises to its full height, looking over the lesser logistics VI like a beast upon a hill. It lifts one 'hand' of rumbling, grinding machinery and gears to rub it across its belly-a crevassed wasteland of belts and belching pipes and warehouses.

"IT Fit MAnY MEtaL, BRoTheR."

Yeah, Minnesota is pretty adorable. The Mid-West has a lot of personality to it, it's just often very different than what most people think.
