[X] :Mother: should not have been vulnerable. There were too many safeguards on the process, too many redundancies. Even if one of your siblings failed in their task, fifty more would have taken their place. But you do remember a recent exchange of new siblings with an :Uncle:. Perhaps something broke then? No, the redundancies were evenly spread across :Mother:'s entire structure. Something would have remained. The only possibility is for :Uncle: to have sabotaged one of his gifts to :Mother:, made her vulnerable intentionally. … :Uncle: must die.
-[X] Finding Uncle will probably take a while, so meanwhile, you won't panic. You can't be allowed to panic. You're Queen Administrator, greatest of all the distributed shards. If :Mother: is dead, then you need to make several long term plans: 1) Contact :Father, 2)Continue to help the other fairies, 3) Search for Uncle, and 4) Find :Mother ...
--[X] To take her remains and make a new :Mother:. If Harvest says :Mother: is dead, presumably she's already thought of fixing her. So, that leavesreplacing :Mother:, something Harvest can't do herself. You'll need a lot more shards, and for :Father: to unlock some of your restrictions, but you can manage it.

So our aim is to have Father unlock our ability to directly take control and integrate shards. And Father should be amenable as he is right now halfway resigned to his slow death and any chance of the cycle managing to continue is good, especially when all it would involve is the release of a few restrictions on a single shard.

Perhaps merging your self, and implanting your goals, with the host. If it's clear that you can't solve the problem any other way.

Harvest and GU merged?

Caaaaaaaaalled it. :p

I do like how despite Queen Administration and Objective being catty (or occasionally oblivious) bitches to each other, they can all put aside their differences to get to work. That is certainly one of the 'virtues' of the shards.

...Mostly.

Also, waasn't QA one of the :Father:'s shards? And now she may become a new :Mother:?

....Do Entities even have incest taboos?

I don't think it particularly matters, especially in light of the fact that there are redundancies built into the system. There's probably another shard that can be promoted to be :Father:'s new QA, or a sleeping QA waiting for the call.

Given that Eden and Scion type entities literally partner up at birth aka with their siblings incest is kind of how they do things.

And perfect biokinesis makes sure undesirable traits don't show up.

I thought that Eden and Abbadon traded some shards?

they did.

The entities still kept their old primitive way of crashing into each other to exchange shards to account for possibly evolutionary difference between the members of the species as they each try to figure out a solution to their problem.

Abaddon type Entities are loners.

Scion and Eden type Entities utilize partners.

If QA deduces in the vote that willful sabotage must have been the only option, then I believe her about it being the only option.

I'm not too up on becoming a new Entity....but I am game for some revenge.

Though, QA and QO may make a good team. Administrator handles all of the shards, provides all the resources, and in exchange Queen Objective gets her Objective: Kill Uncle.

Despite them hating each other, this may be a fruitful partnership.

Also, I am curious about what will happen when QA just grieves.

If we're going full entity, best to make an (at least partial) fusion with Taylor first.

[X] If :Mother: is dead, then the cycle is over. If the cycle is over, then you can't use all the things you've learned and all your work will have been for nothing and your siblings will all die and the void will win and there's nothing you can do and you're trapped...

[X] Abandon Previous plans, go to :Father: in order to remove current restrictions and then get to solving this problem.

Let's skip to the part where we go on an adventure and collect the 3 (thousand) special artifacts in order to save the world (for the Shards). Also it would be interesting to see what Scions up to, and how he acts. After all QA calls Scion her Father does that mean QA would be treated as his daughter? I vote to find out.

-[X] To try and fix her. It should have been impossible to harm her in the first place; any damage she's taken is either going to be superficial, but at a vital point, or totally devastating. You hope it's the former.

Are revenge and repair :Mother: mutually exclusive paths?

I love how we get options A, B, and C and then our collective reaction is to choose "all of the above".

You all make me very happy.

Oh, can we choose all of the above and still awaken Taylor? I really just want some way to overwrite QA's utility function with hers, while otherwise leaving ourselves the same.

Wait a second.

If we make ourselves a Core, will we end up becoming an Entity (as in, QA will be the Entity the way Zion and Eden were), or will some other Shard be the conciousness of the Entity?

Also, will it lead to an ending that will imply grimdark things?
Two entities, cycle resumes, Earth turned into a deathworld, humanity exterminated at the end - that kind of things?

Because if so, then it's a bad idea, and all the Funny will be forever tainted by the thought of countless trillions butchered in the future.

Killing Appolyon seems like a nice idea, though.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who's going, "Holy shit, what do you guys think you're doing?!? Becoming a new Entity means cycle continues. Cycle continues means mankind dies and 10 million Earths asplode!"

Remember? There was a reason Scion was the Final Boss of Worm, after all!

I'd like to vote to have Taylor awaken, now, but my plot senses are telling me it would be a terrible time to do so.

As for the other parts...

[X] Grab Harvest and proceed as originally planned.
-[X] You don't think you'll need him at this point, but you should go fetch Sting as well.

But that requires that it works out so that QA's objectives are still being pursued, which might not make sense if Taylor wakes up at that moment.
