Sonic The Hedgehog live action movie

I went and saw the film as promised. My thoughts:

Briefly: the film is extremely good. There are drawbacks, but the quality, acting and pure care that are invested in the production clearly outweigh them.

This movie is good. Even very good. The film is not as funny as the remake of Jumanji. But the film is surprisingly emotional and even mature at times with these emotions. Cons of the film is one noticeable hole in the plot and a somewhat fast pace. I would like the film to go a little longer.

There are few battles in the film. But they beautifully and somewhat cleverly made them. Plus, Sonic's strength is clearly related to emotions and this is important for the plot.

Jim Carrey is an evil villain. But his evil is explicable and understandable. He is magnificent in role and I will even say believable.

And yes, they almost scream about the sequel ... I would be glad to see that. If they put the same amount of energy that is ....

About the comparison with Detective Pikachu. I think this film is good as detective Pikachu. Only differently. Pikachu creates the world of Pokemon. Sonic the movie is more concerned about creating Sonic as a character with his own emotions, feelings of prehistory, shortcomings and more. And the film does a good job in this matter.

And finally. I did not go to a movie with low expectations. I went to the film with high expectations from all the reviews. And they were right

I don't understand how to make such a good film and miss the design. Sonic's first design was surprisingly the only real, big issue in the film. He was not a sign that the film is bad. Somehow the design was a bad sheep in a good movie. I am very glad that they changed it!

They showed a drawing of a Sanic!

A little moment that I wildly liked. I do not think that this is a serious spoiler. In the film there is a village madman who believes that Sonic is real and calls him a blue demon. It is he who shows the drawing of Sanic. In the end, people understand that Sonic is real and that same old man says it directly. For some reason I really liked it.

They have a good reason why the government wants to find Sonic. I would even say that they sent little effort for him.

They left the scene with meow!

The moment where Sonic gets his iconic sneakers was very sweet and sincere!

I was surprised how sad the beginning of the film was, no matter how short it was. Sonic lost everything in one day and it was really sad. I think the Long Claw design was a bit more realistic than the other characters, but surprisingly this is not a bad thing. So she looks more impressive, plus this does not prevent her from being a mother figure for Sonic.

Finally, my thoughts from the very beginning of the film were about how Knuckles in this universe will have to explain Sonic a lot and quickly. Because the last time Sonic saw someone like him, they tried to capture him and most likely killed his adoptive mother ... Yes, this will not be the most fun conversation.

The credits of this film are a masterpiece. They made them in the style of old Sonic games!

I just wanna talk about how Dr. Robotnik was apparently a war profiteer in the middle east, because wew lad
I don't think he was a weapon manufacturer. I took this scene as if he was a Military Enforcer. Aka is something like an agent of special services. But I have to say an important thing about my review. This is a review of a film translated into Russian and something might have been lost in translation and, accordingly, I might be wrong somewhere.

I'm mostly talking about the absurdity inherent to the concept "Eggman helped commit war crimes in the middle east as a tool of Western imperialism as an amoral mercenary."

Well yes. Most likely this is what happened. This adds to his character, although it fits into his modus operandi

The concept of Eggman doing anything for profit is inimical to his character. He has no need to gather wealth because he can produce an infinite number of advanced robots and giant doomsday machines within hours.

That is why he opens amusement parks and casinos? I am not sure that I would be so categorical. Moreover, there are different versions of Eggman and this one is obviously a completely different doctor Robotnik.

I just got it. Sonic speaks through references to popular art because he grew up entirely on it. He had no communication with living human beings and his entire socialization consists of stalking people in the city near his house.:(

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik has two favorite things: world conquest and tax evasion. Making casinos fulfills both.

Eggman makes Casinos and amusement parks because it amuses him to do so. His flights of fancy can instantly become reality, in the form of an easily traversable level made out of springs, spike traps, and loops. :p

He definitely does things for profit. Albeit, granted, I think the profit is more about the joy of hosing people than about actually having money. Quoth his PA announcements from his amusement park in Colors

I am still thinking about the Echidna who wanted to kill or kidnap Sonic. What are their motives? Do they really want to kidnap the child and use him, like that?

In any case, this is an amazingly good premise for non-Eggman villains. I really doubt that they will be good guys. And to be honest after they doomed Sonic to suffering by their actions ... I personally want to see how Sonic will kick their asses.

My theory is that in this universe, Sonic's power come from the Master Emerald and so the Echidna are going after him because they don't want to risk the powers of their precious relic being misused.

My one hope is that this film does good enough to get a sequel, so they can tease the possibility of Sonic the Hedgehog 3... & Knuckles.

And yes, I'm not a fan of conspiracy theory about intentionally bad first Sonic design. But given the quality of the film (from my point of view), I begin to wonder. How this first design blends with everything else in the film. And I can't understand, because it is obvious that everyone who worked on the film clearly cared about it. Just how did this happen?

so why didn't Owl!Mom go through the portal as well?

'Sonic The Hedgehog' Runs Faster With 4-Day Of $64M+

Article:
UPDATED, Saturday AM final: After a string of pricey duds with Gemini Man, Terminator: Dark Fate, and Rhythm Section, Paramount gets back on track with its net $87M production of Sonic the Hedgehog. The film could potentially score the best video game feature adaptation debut of all-time, with a 3-day of $53.99M and 4-day of $64.3M, according to industry estimates this morning.

Anything over $54.3M in 3-days beats the previous record set by Legendary/Warner Bros.' Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. On a 4-day basis, Sonic does beat Detective Pikachu as the best start for a video game feature, the former pic earning $58M over a non-holiday period last May. Paramount is seeing on their end a $50M 3-day and $60M 4-day for Sonic which is still great.

My only fear with the success of this film is that I hope it doesn't happen like with Marvel, with the movies starting to shape the rest of the franchise in other media to their image.
