    • Well, whatever issue I was having that preventing me from posting ROULETTE over here on Sufficient Velocity has apparently cleared up, so chapter one has now been posted and can be found here! :D

    Summary:​

    A fluke event during a confrontation between Rouge the Bat, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Dr. Eggman leads to the manifestation of a chaos-generated clone of Rouge who happens to be the mental amalgamation of all three (plus an unknown Outsider).

    Join Roulette on her journey to determine who she is and who she chooses to be. And be ready for a ride, because this girl doesn't just have issues, she has subscriptions!

    Chapter 01: The Daughter

    Rouge The Bat looked over Central City, or at far as she could see from the tallest rooftop.

    It was Central City but not her Central City, it was both darker and cleaner.

    No humans as far as her eyes could see, no Overlanders either, only Islanders. Quite a few more Bat Islanders that she was used to however.

    Rouge spotted what looked like the some sort of robot cleaning the streets, said robot being the size of an average human motorbike and no one around was holding a remote control.

    Not that strange... but it wasn't based on a Badnik, it looked more like a giant Roomba with metal tentacles. It also didn't have any kind of fox logo so it wasn't something Tails made. But it did have a magenta icosahedron ruby... Rouge's head hurt for a moment.

    She tried to go to Night Babylon, Central City's neon-lit nightlife district, but it didn't exist, so that also meant no Club Rouge.

    'Well, I am probably in a different Dimension... Hopefully Shadow exists here... and is not evil."

    Stealing clothes to fit in, as everyone was wearing way too many clothes, was a complication when it seemed that security cameras where everywhere so she didn't bother.

    She just went to the rooftop of that business with the magenta ruby on it. The name... she couldn't quite make it out but for some reason the name sounded... familiar to her.

    And waited.

    "A Rouge The Bat fan?" asked a voice she didn't expect.

    Rouge turned to the side, it was Shadow? No, it was... a female hedgehog, mostly pink, with some red and black, she looked like Shadow... and Amy Rose. She was wearing casual clothes but still was fully clothed.

    "Are you Shadow's daughter?"

    "Yes, I am Maria The Rose. You are not a fan of Rouge... let me guess... time travel? Different Dimension?" The teenager girl asked.

    "Well there is no humans or Overlanders here so unless-"

    "Ah that. There used to be humans and Overlanders before I was born but... the Overlanders made something, a plague to kill anyone smart enough that wasn't an overlander. Problem for them was that the Phantom Empress got a sample before they released it and changed it to only kill Overlanders. Unfortunately humans were close enough genetically and died too."

    "Phantom Empress? Who is that?" Rouge asked.

    "You don't know her? Must be from a different dimension then. If you where from the past you would know her."

    Something flickered in Rouge's eyes making her head hurt.

    "What?"

    "Weird. Anyway... I lied."

    "Lied? About what?"

    "The Plague didn't kill overlanders and humans, it turned them into Islanders, Bat people specifically. The Empress did feel bad about that but those changed also got their memories wiped. They had a fresh start and most of them didn't become as bad as the Overlanders were, after they got some help to start new lives."

    Rouge crossed her arms under her chest. "Well while that is slightly better... What happened after humans and overlanders became Bat islanders?"

    "The Phantom Empress tried to do damage control and that's how things escalated to her taking over the Continent."

    "Just the Continent instead of the world?' Rouge asked.

    "The Phantom Empress didn't feel like taking over the whole world... she said it would be too much work."

    Rouge's head hurt again.

    "This... I remember this feeling! This isn't real!"

    "Not real?" Maria asked looking confused "Don't you feel cold wearing so little? Is freezing out here!"

    "Oh..." Rouge The Bat touched her own forehead and felt it warm. "I may be sick."

    Then the bat woman fainted.

    Rouge The Bat woke up in her couch, Cream The Rabbit and Cheese the Chao hugging her and sleeping. Right she had agreed to babysit them...

    Was it all a dream?

    "Hello, you are welcome." A snarky female voice said and it was Maria The Rose, wearing casual clothes in the human style, with a t-shirt that had a pink heart inside a nuclear symbol on it. blue jeans and... a pink version of Shadow's shoes.

    "I... I wasn't dreaming?"

    "I am the Phantom Empress main enforcer but I am also a tad annoying. So the Empress ordered me to take you back to your dimension and to prevent the overlander plague from happening, no matter what. Of course I had to get you cured first, had to use Pink here to burn away the disease you had." The hedgehog teen said showing a Pink Chaos Emerald. It had to be a fake one, there was no Pink Chaos Emerald.

    "Oh what a pretty Emerald. Are you not scared I am going to steal that from you?"

    "Good luck with that, the damn thing won't leave me alone, literally."

    To prove that the hedgehog woman opened the window and threw the Chaos Emerald outside. A few seconds later it teleported over the teen head and and felt on it.

    "Ouch! See what I mean?"

    "Are you a clone?" Rouge had no clue why she asked that, probably the headache she still had.

    "Bitch please I even have videos of me as a fetus in my fucking mother womb! I am not a clone."

    "Okay. What can you tell me about that Plague."

    "Everything is on this tablet." The woman said and handled Rouge a tablet. "I am going outside for some fresh air and feed Pinkie here some Power rings."

    Maria The Rose walked around Central City, things did look familiar yet different. This wasn't her Central City, there was a lot of humans and maybe a few overlanders, it was hard to tell the difference unless you counted the fingers in their hands or so she learned in school.

    It was too darn early for Club Rouge to be open and they probably wouldn't let her in unless she used the Pink Chaos Emerald to make the bouncer think she was older. Then again apparently the local Rouge The Bat had taken children there a few times? She wouldn't know about back home, by the time she learned about Club Rouge it was when Rouge decided to close it down and open a Casino on one of the islands. And then Phantom Empress decided to demolish Night Babylon and turn the whole thing into a a tech focused district with cheap rentals. She would know, she lived in Tech Hub! Yeah the new district was named that, whatever.

    A pity, even during the day she found Night Babylon interesting. But Maria understood why the place had to go, Doctor Eggman was using it to earn legal money, there was crime and a lot of shady shit.

    The mostly pink hedgehog didn't know if it was that bad in this Dimension but it may be close.

    "So freaking bored... don't even know enough about the local laws yet... maybe I could go a bust some Badniks outside the city? Maybe head to one of the islands? They are way more tolerant of Hero types there."

    Angel Island was an option, the local version of her dad may be there. Maybe visit local mom in Station Square? Since this was a different Dimension it wouldn't cause a paradox if she visited the local Amy Rose.

    'Sudden Teen daughter' did sound kind of hilarious.

    "Ugh but what if she takes in stride and starts to baby me? That would suck."

    Maria The Rose passively absorbed Chaos Energy and had the stupid artificial Pink Chaos Emerald the Phantom Empress had made bonded to her, she wasn't gonna die any time soon unless she had to face something or someone too strong and even then she could just run away and let the local Heroes deal with that. Is not like the Empress was paying her to save the world; just to prevent the whole Plague deal.

    Then again, she didn't have the local currency, the rings used for money here didn't have the Empress symbol on then. And while yes she could eat ration bars she didn't want to.

    "Ah well to local mom house it is."

    The Pink Chaos Emerald glowed and put her in clothes almost like what her mom mostly used in her teen years, only in purple and dark pink and with black bows.

    "Pinkie! And you wonder why I keep throwing you away!"

    Meanwhile the people in Night Babylon tried to ignore the weird hedgehog girl Islander that was talking to herself. Messing around with hedgehogs didn't tend to end well.

    Then Maria the Rose teleported near the local Amy Rose apartment.

    "Ugh she is not gonna believe me unless I show her baby pictures."

    Good thing she had a tablet full of those, and of other pictures of herself when she was younger. The tablet was 100% offline, no wireless connections at all. Without using a wired port even a semi solid holographic AI would need to actually touch the tablet to get the information there.

    Even so going in and saying "Hi! I am Maria The Rose your daughter from an alternate Dimension!" Would be so... awkward.

    So Maria knocked the door, Amy Rose was in, and thankfully alone.

    "Hello Miss Rose, I am Maria The Rose your daughter from an alternate Dimension. Nice to meet you!"

    So of course that's what she did and added girlish bowing as a greeting.

    "What." Not Mom said.

    The local version of her mom just staring was not what she expected.

    After all this Dimension had a lot of people from other Dimensions visiting so shouldn't she be used to stuff like that now?

    "I got pictures!" Maria said and handled her the tablet, thinking that maybe this had been the mistake.

    Too slowly for her taste, the local Amy Rose opened the Gallery App and started to see the pictures... and videos. All of those were of Maria alone, to avoid spoilers of a future that may never be in this Dimension.

    "Okay, you can come in." Amy Rose said in an eerly calm tone.

    "Thanks." Maria said in her most grateful voice as she was let in the apartment.

    "So... do I want to know who your father is?" Amy asked once both of them say in the couches she had.

    "Eh... just because you married dad back home it doesn't mean-"

    "Is Shadow isn't it? That's why your name is Maria and you quills look like that in your head. And why you have red and black quills even if you are mostly pink."

    "Yeah I did think you would figure it out once you saw me."

    Both of us just sat in silence for a moment.

    "Maria, do you usually dress like that?"

    "No. I tend to dress more with music bands t-shirts and use pants. This was... my attempt to make you feel more comfortable?"

    "Back in your own Dimension is your mother still around?" Amy Rose blunty asked.

    "Yes. Why are you asking?"

    "You... well it seems like you are awkwardly trying to make me like you. It reminds me of the local Shadow." Amy Rose said with a fond smile. "Is kind of cute."

    And then Maria stomach had to growl in hunger making her blush.

    AN: I bet some people has already guessed what really is going on, is not like I was exactly subtle.

    • While I feel that the Anti-Freedom Fighters/Suppression Squad wouldn't exactly fit outside of Archie Sonic, I did make this early August to show a contrast between them (or a similar group) and the "main universe Resistance/Restoration" in the following sense.



    While the Resistance/Restoration "main star upholds a smaller star in its right hand" as a symbolic gesture of standing up for the little guy and being "the light of hope," the organization's evil counterpart is depicted as thus to demonstrate that its perfectly willing to "stomp on the little guy" for all the wrong reasons.

    I know my drawing isn't world-class, but it was the best I could do then.

    The series left a good impression on me to say the least. I used Super Sonic on Spacebattles, but now I can imagine that would be something of an upgrade for Nicky's (who is brown-furred regularly) usual transformation.

    Also, I've had a similar thought on and off, but if the Space Colony ARK became its own nation in orbit, either during Professor Gerald Robotnik's time or claimed by his grandson in a different first campaign of his to world domination, I can see that nation having similar warlike views and societal failings as the Vers Empire from Aldnoah.Zero.

    • Anyway, on the topic of Team Dark being G.U.N. personnel, I honestly do like the idea, although I can also imagine that they're currently independent agents with the events of Sonic Forces and the governments of the world that are still trying to reorganize themselves from Eggman's brief reign. Not that them being part-timers like Batman sometimes is with the Justice League is bad either, though.

    In addition to the above, remembering G.I. Joe Renegades got me thinking that Team Dark in the same position as show's renegades would make for something interesting, even if it wouldn't be a longstanding story.

    I can't say why there's already a perfectly detailed video of the movie when it's not even on home video, not counting being purchasable/rentable on YouTube already, but I'm not complaining.

    I can definitely imagine that the Sonic X castle from that one episode was once King Boom Boo's home when he was alive, and I'm starting to wonder why he couldn't be featured more often enough throughout the whole franchise (games, X, and comics) as a recurring, vile villain. I mean his background is right here. Granted, Mario already has King Boo, but still.

    Anyway, speaking of the Mario Boos, if there could be a connection between them and the Sonic Boos in a crossover fusion, I would definitely like to see it. The way that the latter are the result of a talisman could be a kind of differences between them, while the former would've made the talisman in the first place. Could King Boo and King Boo Boom be the same person, or hated rivals? That's something to consider for sure.
