1. More like explosions, mind raping and the occasional broken bones.:V
Probably the best way to handle it, honestly. Its what the rest of our career is going to look like so you should at least give a genin an honest introduction to the rest of their lives. And it fits with what we learned as Crusaders too damn well.
3. Danzo is many things, but breaking Hiruzen's trust by trying to spy on his new students (especially when one of their parents used to work for him and really hates his guts) is not something he will do lightly. He will figure us out quickly... but not by rummaging through our room.
He doesn't need to go through our room. He just has to put out a basic requisition to the Academy for our evaluations and instructor reviews, his friends involved in our own debriefing and re-evaluation after the Trail of Tears, and so forth. There are things he won't or can't touch for fear of blowback: Our psychologist is off limits and even if he did get any hints that our brother is a nuclear weapon he would diligently acquire selective blindness. And there is no way in hell that he is letting himself anywhere near mom without a safety net to hide behind.

But you can get a hell of a lot of information by endorsed channels... or at least not particularly forbidden ones. We've been accumulating a dossier since we were conceived.
4. It's not an option... because if we fail, we will be in no condition to complain about it.
Losing valuable tools of the state would be something to be avoided though, if at all possible. We'd have to be actually useless to not have Danzo at least try to salvage something out of a bad situation.

Hell, imagine the shit the man would have to go through to salvage the situation if all three of us just ended up dead during the evaluation. Even in the shortterm, before we have antichrist Orochimaru out of puberty.
5. Mom has already lost her shit.
We need to get that woman a really good Christmas present this year. Her poor stress level.
Yep... but Danzo will teach you everything he knows.

Whether that is a good thing or bad thing for you, remains to be seen.:V
Both, probably. The man is genuinely good, though fuck if I know what his skillset is while he is still in his twenties. He is just really myopic in the sense of how he approaches things.

Yeah... just wait until he finds out that we're a reincarnation (if he manages to figure it out BTW)... He'd have a stroke.

It would certainly be pretty comedic, horrifying and a political shit storm... which would have him end up dead by virtue of mom unshackling herself from not killing him.

You know if someone wrote that omake, I would laugh and give you all sorts of bonuses.

I think she needs more then a good christmas present... she already had to deal with us being kidnapped, and our brother being a jinchuuriki.

She might just get pulled off the duty roster because of her mental health.

And given that Konoha produces four straight generations of the green beast, that takes some fucking doing.
Maito Gai and everyone like him are on the list of success stories: He broke in a manner that left him with coping mechanisms that were both safe and useful. Where Kakashi burned out and became a cynical and avoidant husk, Gai trains. Where Tsunade ended up unable to practice her art and fell into a bottle, Gai trains. Where Danzo became part of the problem as one of the driving gears of the great realpolitik machine, Gai motherfucking trains.

And then gives Madara himself a vigorous fisting.

I mean, sure, that sort of mentality is not going to end well for a shinobi. He was never going to live a long life without getting crippled. But its so freakishly rare for shinobi to become old men while still being shinobi that its not worth worrying about. And, even when crippled, the man sucked it up and became a professional teacher.

That strain of the Will of Fire, the Flame of Youth, is actually among the healthiest that you are likely to find.

True, but you kind of made my point about how hard it is to get taken off duty for psychological health reasons in this village.

Konoha would be Klinger's personal hell.

Yeah... general rule should probably be to keep them apart... and start planning how to kill danzo now because it's a long term project. We absolutely need to nail him before the uchiha massacre, or prevent that, because disposable sharingan are a fucking pain in the ass.

Root doesn't exist so Danzo isn't really in the position to do much there. He is just a guy here, if a powerful one, and is more or less just this this time frame's Kakashi. Rather you should be looking to avoid the Uchiha coup because, well, coups are generally bad things.

Thankfully there is one good way to avoid that: Let the Uchiha win. Get one of their more reasonable numbers under the hat and everybody wins.

The men of youth are easily, mentally at least, the strongest men in the series.

well Ren is with the Hokage... perhaps this is a sign he notices the malcontent Uchiha and is signaling to them that "If you remain loyal and you prove your strength to me and the rest of my ninja, we may have an Uchiha Hokage"

Mom has been through more then almost anyone not a Jinchuuriki.

She is a member of a clan that is born with a beast that will eat them if she's not careful, a veteran of a war, two very difficult pregnancies, had to deal with her eldest getting kidnapped from one of the most secure locations that she knows, her youngest become a jinchuuriki, and training a team of ninja as best as she can so they don't die without her.

It's a miracle she has not broken, and speaks a lot to her mental fortitude and her own discipline.

I just remembered! Jiriya has a hair Hutus that lets him make a barrier around himself. Make sure, that by the time his hair is long enough, he knows it or starts creating it. If you want to stay true to the anime/manga. If not, then it's still a really cool jutsu. Maybe we should learn it as well.

There are some hints that that trick is actually more advanced than it looks: From the look of it, it was one of the techniques derived straight from Kaguya's own. I wouldn't rule it out, but it would probably be fairly late game for us even if we did aim for it.

And then there is the whole opportunity cost thing. Every trick we sink actions into getting is one more that we aren't using somewhere else. Like mastering out mental powers or keeping our mother from breaking down or trying to secure ties with the clans. Or anything else.

I'm pretty sure our near future is just going to be sinking actions five at a time in whatever Danzo wants.

Edit six hours later, from the breakroom: Now that I think of it, if we ever get the chance to give our two cents, we should probably push to get our mother off the active duty roster. Between the income from her jutsu, which is becoming one of the Academy Four, and the fact that we just became a low level income source ourselves as opposed to a drain... yeah. I think the woman can at least go part time.

Or, hell, get one back at the Hokage by netting Anbu pay for... wait for it... guarding the jinchuriki. Well, yes, its her son. But is that really an excuse for working for free?

The Test 1: The Man with the Scar On His Chin.
The Test 1: The Man with the Scar On His Chin.

The man who was your genin teacher was a young man, almost the same age as your father if you had to guess. His black hair was spiked down the side like he had placed some honey or gel to make it hard to grab. The scar on his chin made an x like it marked the spot of a blade that nearly killed him.

The flak vest he wore was damaged, there were frays and cuts on them, and you could the metal plates that were poking out from it. Filling his vest's pockets were tools of the trade, explosive tags, ninja wire, first aid kids, maps, and even a book of some sort.

His pants legs were we maintained, though only with medical gauze and ninja wire.

Danzo Shimura was the stereotypical ninja commander, in dress at least.

The man then spoke, his voice was slightly raspy. "Team 6… follow me." He ordered.

You, Tsunade and Nanako stood up and followed your sensei out of the door.

Then you followed him out of the academy, picking up the pace to match your teachers Nanako had to start jogging, while you and Tsunade just speed up your walking pace.

You continued walking through the village, a few people greeting Danzo as he walked past them. Danzo even responded to a few of them. He didn't give a very long response, but from his gaze, he knew a few of them, either as teammates or from just spending time around this part of town.

A few genin saluted to him, but their eager faces dropped when he did not return the salutes.

Then you reached one of the training grounds. Training Ground Six was, like every other training ground, surrounded by a large chain link fence with razor wire on top of it. Its layout was similar to most of the other training grounds in this area, a small clearing among a small forest of trees, with a small pond on the western side to practice water walking.

But besides the nature that it allowed students to train in, the village bureaucracy was also very known to all who came to use it.

There was a sign that held the training ground number on it, with a large chalkboard with the names of who reserved the training ground for the week.

It was empty save for Danzo's name and the name: Team 6.

Why there wasn't just a sign in sheet for people to sign in and sign out from was a mystery to you. It would save Lord Hokage time and paperwork if he just did that.

Danzo opened the gate and your team piled into the training ground, heading towards the clearing in the middle.

Danzo than took a deep breath. "Sit down." He ordered.

You sat first, crossing your legs and looking up to the man who was now your sensei. Tsunade sat behind you, her back turned slightly to cover your blind spots. Just like on the road, you both understood that something might be amiss, and being safe was better than being ambushed.

Nanako, however… just plopped down on her butt, panting slightly.

Danzo took another breath. "I'm going to be blunt… You are all liabilities and should quit now."

That made you raise an eyebrow. What the hell?

Sure you were mute, but you had worked around your handicap, know both Konoha sign and a genjutsu that allowed telepathic communication.

Hell, you were not barred from the academy when you joined because of your disability,... It was one of the key reasons that you and your friends escape.

Nanako for her part gritted her teeth and sat up straight. "Hey! We passed the academy! We're ninja on the records!"

Danzo nodded. "Yes, you are… however, that does not mean you are ready to be ninja or Kunoichi. That final say belongs to me."

He pointed at Nanako. "Nanako. You have terrible stamina, and a lack of drive to improve said stamina. In a battle against an opponent, all they would need to do is outlast you and then you would die." His blunt comment made Nanako pale. "You also are underweight for your size, lacking in fiber and protein which will not allow your muscles to grow as quickly, and put your body in danger with deadly diseases that you can catch in the field." He shook his head. "I suggest changing your diet to a more protein heavy and fiber-rich blended diet, so you can start becoming more healthy. As for your stamina, I would begin running laps around the village, pacing yourself so you do not get tired. Once that is done, increase your pace. The endurance running will be the way for you to increase that stamina."

He then pointed to Tsunade. "You are a clan heir, and yet you do not know every member of your clan by name." That fact made Tsunade look hurt as if she did know them all by name, even though she was a princess to them. "You see people as beneath you unless they gain your attention, or they have something you want or need. That is not a sign of a good clan head or a leader, it just shows favoritism and pettiness that you must be above." He then took a deep breath. "A leader must be able to make choices that affect all, no matter what. And that means knowing your weakness."

He then pointed at you. "You are mute. Communications is key to survival as a shinobi. That lack of it, even if you have fixed it with sign language and genjutsu means nothing if your hands are bound and you are out of chakra. You also rely heavily on your powers of genjutsu. That is but one skill a Kunoichi must master. You must master Taijutsu, Ninjutsu…" He paused and glared into your eyes. "Bloodlines."

The way he said bloodlines made you feel fear. It was like he was expecting you to snap and go crazy at any moment.

"Jerk," Kagami stated quietly. "I'm not going to snap and go crazy without prompting… I will snap and go crazy when you tell me to snap and crazy."

"To rely only on one will leave you vulnerable, and then you will be dead." Danzo paused. "I have told you what I know about you," You doubted that very much. "But I want to know about you from you. Tell me what your likes… your dislikes." You saw him pull out a note card. "And your dreams for the future."

"You don't do this a lot… do you?" Nanako asked.

Danzo gave a sigh and then gave a small laugh. "First-time jitters."

You didn't know if he was lying or telling the truth.

Nanako spoke first. "I am Oda Nanako. I like the summer sun and painting dragons. I dislike hot food and food that is hard to eat and being forced to go beyond the limit of my abilities when there is no need to. My dream is to work in the village strategy room or diplomatic corps."

That piqued Danzo's interest as if he did not expect it. He gave a smile… which creeped you out. The man did not seem like the smiling type.

"Tsunade." He said your friends name quietly.

Tsunade gave a glare at you, but you shrugged. You didn't know if he was a threat or if you should trust him. But you decided to nod. He was your teacher, your sensei… the trust needed to be given… and earned.

"I am Senju Tsunade. My likes are my friends and allies that I made on the journey home, and Medical ninjutsu. I hate people who think I'm just some princess of my clan who doesn't even know me." Tsunade glared at Danzo. "And I want to be a medic and save people."

Danzo spoke. "You want to become a medic…" That made Tsunade nod. "That's good... I know a number of situations where a medic would have been useful in my time…" There was mist in his eyes as if he remembered something. But then it quickly went away as they narrowed in resolve. "Do not lose that drive to be one."

He then looked at you. "What about you Ayako… what do you have to say to your comrades?"

Am I the only one a little disappointed at how easy it was to befriend Kagami? Like here is this dark beast that constantly tries to takeover, but we can be friends with him by letting him see the outside world and naming him.

It's all a little too simple for my taste...

"I'm not going to snap and go crazy without prompting… I will snap and go crazy when you tell me to snap and crazy."

Stuff like this part. It's like we skipped most of the process and jumped to the end result.

We got 90+ on pretty much every roll with him.

I do not expect Danzo to know who they are. I do think we should put them on the list regardless.

I'm deliberately leaving Aka out, since there's no real way to explain her.

If we're that badly off, we're probably also gagged...
