Is Asahi still in the middle of a fight or is she done? If she is done

No write ins for this one please.

As for who you pick up, that will be left up to me.

There was an entire Army outside the walls. A shinobi coalition had just waltzed right into the Land of Fire and was now striking The heart, Konoha itself.

...why does it have to be the idiot ball? An army is far from a subtle thing and Konoha is deep within the Land of Fire.

There's only three (general) ways to explain that many ninja showing up without anyone knowing.

First being the idiot ball as I've mentioned, which has been demonstrated as a common method Magoose uses to justify extreme rolls across several quests. I personally find it unsatisfactory, but it's at least doesn't demonstrate long-term issues for us.

Second is traitors in the village allowed them to get this far. For all we know they've subverted key people to keep the information of the army's advance from the Hokage. It's a method that makes sense, but it means we can't trust most of the village anymore.

Third is some bullshit method to transport an army across a vast distance. Which kinda looses us the war in any conventional sense, and basically will force mutually assured destruction. All we need to do is fly really high and hit their villages with mindbrake genjutsu. Sure it'll just make the survivors angry, but we're not the person meant to break the cycle of violence. A bit if "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" retribution for the harm done to our village will be worth it.

There's probably a lot of minutiae that can fill in the details between the options, but those aren't what I believe the broad stroke possibilities are

The idiot ball has not been held. I guarantee that.

I have said it a few times that the Uzumaki Barrier seals are now obsolete now that we no longer have any Uzumaki in the village, and now that the Uzumaki are no longer allies, they can keep all their goodies to themselves and their allies. but that is just how the army punched through the village defenses.

While I cannot say there are traitors, there were infiltrators and Sabarours who have been doing some bad shit.

That was actually Orochimaru's intel that he was asking us to help us deliver.

If you were with the Rats, you actually could have stopped the Armies advance enough for the village to mobilize a more concrete defense.

If you were with Ren, well, he is now Target number 4 on the Enemy Armies kill list, behind Hiruzen, Danzo, and us.

An army breaching our defenses is totally reasonable. That's not what I was complaining about.

It's the fact that the army was able to get outside our walls with no one realizing.

There's no way the should have been able to get that far without Konoha being ready for an attack, if not the time to set up a defense beyond the village.

That's why Konoha seems to be holding the idiot ball. They either don't understand the threats if the setting well enough to set up patrols far enough out to notice an entire fucking army before it was too late for the village, they don't understand the fact that war is just around the corner so more than the boarder needs to be patrolled, or some other idiot ball failure on their part.

If it isn't an idiot ball issue that means the enemy needs to have either subverted some of our ninja, or are so good at infiltration that they were able to take over multiple critical positions*

There is the mass army teleportation bullshit they could have developed and used, but that escalates the war to mutually assured destruction at best for us if such a trick can be repeated.

I also don't think it's the likely method, else they would just send their jinchuuriki into a rampage in our village (bonus points if they timed it when people who could actually deal with the threat weren't around. Hell, it could have been a two stage fight where after you beat the jinchuriki, the tailed beast gets released and gets its own rampage. Maybe even add the jinchuriki violently exploding before releasing the their jinchuuriki

*Which starts getting close to the idiot ball argument again.

When I update next, you will get a satisfactory answer. I promise.

The sensory barrier got nerfed by the uzumaki, Kiri has the best stealth specialists in the elemental mations, and Kumo are masters of lightning strike style attacks. What part of that says they couldn't launch a surprise offensive deep into enemy territory as the opening move? The trick now is to punish them hard enough that this over extension costs them more than it does us.

No write ins? Not even to tell send hawks capable of speech to report numbers and locations to the guys at the wall?

Well, that sort of locks us in, doesn't it?

[X] Helping those who cannot help themselves

and hope and pray that we get someone who can act as a courier instead of someone who wants to murder us.

The hawks will actually be fighting the bad guys everywhere along with helping out where the can with other tasks, while you are just choosing where you want to go to help out.

How deep we are into the Land of Fire and how noticable an army is. Kumo stealth specialists don't make the Kumo or uzumaki troops as good as them, nor does kumo's blitzkrieg style mean the others are also proficient in it.

Only the Uzumaki sabotaging our seals directly benefits the other two, but that again feeds into the idiot ball issue of depending on defenses our enemies built for us to keep them out without proper backup.

The army with them makes this seem like it isn't a suicide attack meant to cause as much damage as possible with as few losses to them.

I'm curious what their trick to perform a retreat. Because they're obvious too competent to be holding an idiot ball, so they wouldn't commit this many troops without either being confident they can retreat when they desire, or that they legitimately feel like they can destroy Konoha in this attack.

I trust Magoose too much to assume that a few bad rolls would be enough to destroy the village without us really getting back chance to fight back, so I'm gonna assume they have an easy retreat available

Why yes, yes they do.

I'm not going to make you guys go through an Uzisho situation where everyone gets scattered to the wind by virtue of the village being destroyed, because that would be bullshit.

Unless you really fuck up, because of course, you can fuck up enough to destroy the village if you make some very bad decisions involving your powers.

But those decisions will be up to you when the time comes during the battle if those decisions have to be made. And you will be able to recognize it.

Kiri takes out the sentinels, kumo follows up on the rest of the troops at an outpost, uzumaki deal with esoteric defenses and hack the alert seals.

Uzumaki are seal masters, even if konoha does change the seals the whirlpoolers can still fuck with them because they are better at seals.

Actually, the rats and our friends with them are fighting for their lives at the border, with much of their messaging capability either being destroyed or not available. They also can't spare any runners to hightail it back to the village because every able-bodied person is either fighting or wounded.
kumo follows up on the rest of the troops at an outpost,
See above.

Correct, at least partially.
