[X] No ice cream for two months. One month for the incident in general and causing trouble when he knew it was something important. The other month for lying about orders, especially the Hokage's orders.
-[x] Kagami's time outside over the next two months won't be limited in duration at all, but he will be limited in range from you during this time and must be supervised. He will be given work to do during half that time to encourage responsibility. Perhaps odd jobs or a part-time job of sorts separate from regular missions. Your parents and/or sensei will be consulted in finding something suitable towards this purpose during that time. You will help (you're partners after all), but the lion's share is his responsibility. If money is involved he'll be learning how to manage it.
-[x] Writing: Kagami will write an apology letter to the Hokage for lying about orders, including a short essay on the importance of being able to trust the chain of command. You and Kagami will both write about...the importance of not freaking out crowds of civilians, nobles, ninja, and village leaders, and not (nearly) causing international incidents.

Whirlpool shit allies confirmed. Hopefully we can just keep them from joining with Kiri. They can kill each other otherwise.

We also might need to coordinate with Iwa that our Daimyo need to get along. Ours is currently unmarried (I think) and has our full backing. Iwa's probably has a suitable daughter that can help seal the deal.

Better to have their fuinjutsu on our side, though. And while I don't think we want a replacement jinchuriki for Kurama for a long time...if ever in the scope of this quest, if the worst does happen better to have an Uzumaki or a few to spare.

Maybe we'll get a chance to snag another village's bijuu. Iwa's an ally so they're off limits, and probably better to keep Suna and Taki at least neutral. But that still leaves Kiri and Kumo's beasts as fair game.

Oh don't worry, you'll never see the rolls coming. Trust me.

Village politics are like real life politics, only everyone is a goddamn magical monk who for some reason calls themselves "ninja".

In other words, Whirlpool has been seemingly slighted by the Leaf Village, then showed that the Konoha's apparent position of strength is a little untenable and broke away under this pretense, having figured that the Leaf doesn't have anything they want.

Whether they were right or horrifyingly, cringing-ly wrong about that is another question entirely.

Also I figure the Whirlpool's Village Head is a little afraid of Aka lol. :V
They had better make an emergency diplomacy roll with somebody relevant, and do it yesterday. Sign on with Hanzo and the other powers of the Independent Bloc, Madara his own fucking self if that man has enough feelers in the water, or Kiri and its not to be forgotten host Mizu who would rather get that particular thorn out of their side without sacrificing a double digit percentage of their armed forces in the process. The world mostly thinks of them as too dangerous to live for unseen reasons.

While it would suck for Konoha, I'm rooting for the Madara option myself.

Oh they will. They will.

And depending on what they roll, they will certainly be able to make the most of their newfound position.

Edit: and by most, I mean they can be in a position to fuck us up.

Are they really gonna be able to negotiate up a better deal than what they had with Konoha? Sticking with us meant they had Iwa in their corner too (unless they found that out after they left us). The only good option they have is Kiri or Kumo.

It sounded like they weren't getting along with Kiri and Kumo isn't that great of an ally right now.

I'm avoiding discussing my fears to keep from giving our GM ideas though. Partially because the solution for a lot of them is "get a big coalition together and commit genocide eliminate the threat such that they will never be a threat again"

Well in war time we're basically a WMD because we can just unload our fuck reality genjutsu and break all their brains. The tricks is going to be leaving enough survivors to sign the surrenders.

Despite being on the same general par with the Uchiha and the Senju during the pre-Village era, and possibly being in some ways stronger because they constructed an untouchable island of insanely long lived individuals who can effectively write notes and revisions into god's universal script while everyone else raped each other with garden implements, they became a footnote. The Village system draws immense wealth into the big five while Uzu is just... surviving in the shadow of the Fire Shadow. Given pleasantries because of lingering memories of a few blood bonds with a now effectively dead clan. Not badly off but not the rising star either.

I won't say its a well thought out reason for cutting ties, though we don't know what other deals might already be made, but people have done things of this scale for far less.

And hopefully avoid opening a full fledged Warp Storm, Chaos Spawn included. If we let loose everything we have its Kaguya's dimension creation ability in reverse and whatever is still loose will probably need either a mercy kill or a carpet bombing. Or both.

"Don't superimpose yourself with birds" isn't the worst you can wring out of our ability.

Let's just say that for certain powers, Uzisho is a prime position to help them mess up our day. Not only because of Seals, but because we now have a dwindling number of seal masters in the village, who now are teaching out of date stuff. Now you may get lucky and Uzisho won't be able to do diplomacy like Hiruzen and Hashirama can, but who needs diplomacy when you have the equivalent to Nukes.

And not the Jinchuuriki kind.

Yeah, but there's a reason three of the big five put aside their differences to destroy them*. And that was with Konoha still as their ally, and their village doesn't seem to be the (nearly) impenetrable island it normally is depicted to be.

Ninja tend to react with violence to threats and aren't usually stopped from making the first strike by fear of retaliation.

*Can't remember if that was Canon, but it's at least the typical fanon.

Can we give Kagami 1 final "ice cream" meal together with us? except we'll have actual ice cream while he gets wasabi?

All we know is that it was a coalition (so more than two) of the greater powers, that it was due to fear, and that it occurred during the second interwar period. Kushina was already alive at that point. Almost nothing else was covered in canon. If you count filler (which is incoherent, but not by much more than the rest of the timeline) they may have also tried biologically engineering kaiju or artificial summoned beasts.

We don't know how allied Konoha was at the time anyway. The tensions that led to the break in the game were still present in canon, if unignited. It really was possible that Konoha was one of the coalition.

I'm really impressed by the fact that (going by a few shots of the ruins) Uzushi had fully modern buildings. Steel and concrete and glass in proper high rise fashion. That was previously only shown in the ruins of Sora-ku, possibly part of Sky Country if you go just by the name, which was a gutted husk of a city that the Uchiha had some dealings with by the time of canon. Everybody else works with short and easily replaced structures, or outright fortifications, no matter how rich.

Yeah, but places also just casually have computers and TV. Snow has trains.

Tech in Naruto is not consistent, especially with the mess of how chakra would effect biology. Some woods could very well be crazy good construction materials with chakra around, but we see what looks pretty second agricultural revolution farming as the norm

Tech is easy. Infrastructure is a goddamn bitch and ninja, among other things, ruin everything for everyone forever.

I can picture high tech (either conventional or chakra based) being manufactured on a limited scale, and for a price only ninja and royalty can afford in any quantity, but trying to produce enough for a city is something else. You need to protect every step in the supply chain for every item without fail and then still be alright when some idiot covers your city with Godzilla snakes.

Loool
I know this isn't strictly the place to talk about it
But
Has anyone been reading Boruto?

Naruto is... so freaking weak it's not even funny. I mean, at the end of the series, they defeated the freaking goddess of chakra.

So for Boruto to become relevant, he needed to be nerfed pretty hard.

How would you do that?
Maybe old age?
He's in mid-thirties and Uzumaki are reputed to live longer.
Maybe losing an arm?
Okay, but he kinda got a wooden McGaffin grafted on his stump.
Maybe some elaborate explanation that the effects of the seal in his body are makin him slowly deteriorate?
Nope. Nothing. Nada.

People have taken up calling him "Boruto's dad", figuring he and Naruto are different people entirely, power-wise.

For me, the answer is simple. The Tech is either there in low quantities, or they are imported from other non-ninja nations.

I assume you're referring to

the fight with Delta?

I think it could have been portrayed better, but he had plenty of reason to fight cautiously. Getting her talking was a valid point, and until he got a further measure of her abilities it is wise to not fully commit to attacks in case of surprises, especially when bizarre abilities and technology are involved.

Even then, he had control and was winning for most of the fight. The only time Naruto was actually in danger was when he was going to take a hit for Himawari...and you can blame Boruto for getting involved to begin with.

I hardly think Naruto has been shown to be weak in the Boruto manga, anime, movies. Look at him and Sasuke in their fight with Momoshiki.

Okay, The Hiatus is on, so I can plan and plot for the post time skip and war plots.

See you in a week or two.
