Do I need to go back and delete or edit the previous vote? I'm pretty sure that I remember reading the new vote overrides the old, but migraine meds make things fuzzy so just checking... Thanks.

Also, you guys can tweak your write in however you want to help paint a picture of what you want out of it. Unless it's wildly different each time, I will glob them all into one idea to help things along.

What I want Alex to do is to press the issue with both of them; Not to get David talking and leave Rebecca silent, nor the opposite.

I guess the way to do it would be to get one of them to give their full story first, then listen to the other. The key here is to make sure things don't dissolve into a screaming match or another argument, which is what will happen if we let them talk at the same time.

So: Have one give their full story without interruption, then have the other do the same.

Once that's done and there's nothing to add... that's when Alex should form an opinion, to decide what he will do.

If they start screaming again at some point, split the ocean again to make them shut up or something.
 
Update: The vote will remain open for another 24 hours from this post.

I will attempt to use my professors kindness of no homework over the weekend to finish things up early.

We can't influence it in any way. We can't convince it to go against its plans in any way, shape or form. Because we're not a blind spot, so Contessa can convince us to agree to anything, and make us excuse anything. Period.

It may surprise you, but she isn't a tyrant, the only reason she go to the deep end it was because of Doctor Mother and the others telling her what to do with her power, if we can concvince them to change tactics, so will she.

Unless my vote tally has gone off the deep end with the numbers it's showing, we've got an answer of Alex making both Rebecca and David cough up the information.

And I have to say, congrats.

This is one of, if not the best ways to get through this situation.

Under her orders from Doctor Mother, she would have wrapped Alex around her finger so tightly that he would be left at the end of the conversation thinking that everything was fine, despite the evidence to the obvious.

She then would have stopped any and all communication with Rebecca, claiming it was for the best for both of you.

Don't blame her, blame Doctor Mother, she's the one who's going to be giving the order. Remember that in a sense, Contessa is relatively blameless for what she's doing. She's just on autopilot with Path of Victory, hardwired to do whatever Doctor Mother wants her to do.

It's not that she wants to, it just that she no longer has a choice in the matter. She gave up her choice for the greater good years ago.

It's running under complete logic. Having the source of her problems close by will result in more volatile behavior. It wouldn't have been permanent, just long enough for Rebecca's power to logic through her actions and Alex to cool off after being thrown off a cliff.

She probably would have taken him on a recruitment mission, actually.

Along with that, separating the two of them has worked before. Rebecca was emotionally in a bad place after Manton confirmed the extent of Alex's coma. So Contessa got her focusing on other things to both help with the path and let her cope.

That being said, Rebecca still got Charles to fix the cameras so she can visit Alex in his room while he was sleeping in between her assignments without Doctor Mother knowing/seeing.
