In reference to the last time we got some math problems, it looks to me like subtracting death, either by bringing the dead back to life, or them not full on dying maybe, won't change their Arcana back.
Not... exactly. Take this rule, and apply it to previous Arcana based things, then think back over a certain comment Nemi has made on the subject. It's not meant to make complete logical sense.

  • [X] Shinjiro-san has issues, but he still tries to help you out. Talking about him, you can more easily convince Morgana that the members of SEES are fundamentally good people. (+Empathy)

[X] Kirijo-san's the smartest of the group, and the closest thing there is to a mediator. Talking about her, you can more easily convince Morgana that SEES expects a certain level of maturity.

Well, that seems pretty decisive.

Let's see what happens when Morgana is told that people like Shinji exist and have Personas.

The Most Important Part of the Week
...You need to say something convincing. That should be simple enough, they've all been nothing but pleasant to you, but you're going to need something a bit more specific than that.

Fortunately, you might have just the thing. Or person, actually. "Well... there's Shinjiro-san. He's the first one of them that I met. He's not good with people- none of them are, really- but... it's pretty clear that he cares, even if he hates to admit it."

Morgana tilts his head to the side. "I'm not sure how clear it is, I've never met him."

"Right. Well... people that are older than me don't really seem to notice I'm there, a lot of the time. Even when I tried to get their attention, nothing really worked... but I didn't need to do that with Shinjiro-san. He just... noticed there was something I was confused about, and decided to explain it."

"That sounds really helpful."

You nod. "It was. He's just... a helpful person in general, I think. I'm not sure why he doesn't use his powers, but there's probably a good reason for it. Or maybe it's just because he's... he's really not okay." And that still worries you, even if he hasn't really broken down in front of you since that one time.

"In what regard?" You're not entirely sure you should be telling the cat about this, but maybe having another perspective will help.

"He's... scared of me, I think." That's the best way you can say it, at least. "And... as much as he cares, he doesn't really show it all that much. I mean, he and Sanada-san fight all the time, but it's usually not anything serious, aside from-" You stop. This much isn't something you should be telling anybody. "It's easy to see they care about each other, but Shinjiro-san doesn't really care about himself. And... that's the only real problem."

Morgana takes on a thoughtful look. "He doesn't, huh? Do you know what his Persona is called?"

You shake your head. You actually sort of have an idea as to what it could be, but you've never really felt the urge to ask. And, really, thinking about it, it just seems too obvious. Particularly when compared to the names of other Personas.

Well, aside from Zorro, but that's not even a mythical figure, so you aren't entirely sure it counts. Not that you'd ever suggest such a thing to the wielder of said Persona, that sounds like a good way to be blown into a wall or something.

"He's never mentioned it to me. He... doesn't seem to like his powers all that much."

"Why not?" The feline asks. "Actually, if that's the case, how does he even have a Persona?" You aren't entirely sure what he means by that. You'll probably end up asking later.
It's called an Evoker and it's probably not good for your mental health.
"Probably the same way I do." Point Evoker. Fire. It's not all that complex. "SEES has things that help us summon our Personas, he'd probably use one of those if he had to. But he doesn't want to, and none of us are going to force him, so I guess it doesn't matter." Maybe he would if you ended up in a situation where there was no other choice, but you're really hoping that doesn't happen.

"...You didn't answer my first question."
Because I don't want to talk about it.
"The most I know is that, whatever it was, it's enough that he..." You're not going to finish that. It's personal, and complicated, and you really don't know the reason for any of it yourself. Not something you should be telling to a random cat. "...He's got issues, and I think his powers are part of the reason, but I'm not going to ask because I don't want to make things worse."

Morgana seems to accept your reasoning, and he doesn't ask any more questions. That's good. You don't really want to think about it too much right now. Or ever, but you're probably not going to be able to get away with that, so you'll settle for pushing it off for as long as you can.

Maybe, if you do that, you'll even figure it out before you're forced to confront it. That would be nice.

Not a lot happens, after that, until the day before you finally move. You've packed as much as you could manage, and now you're forced to figure out what you should do with a pointy stick with a handle wrapped in duct tape. You can't exactly leave it here, but you can't really carry it out, either... and it would probably break if you shoved it in one of your bags, which sort of defeats the purpose of taking it with you in the first place...

So, you need a way to either bring it along or dispose of it without getting in any sort of major trouble. This could be problematic.

[ ] Take the risk and shove it into one of your bags. If it breaks, you can always just apply more duct tape.

[ ] The space between the bed and the wall exists for a reason. If you put it there, and you're lucky, no one will notice it until someone else has moved in.

[ ] Throw it out during the Dark Hour. That way, no one has to know a thing.

[ ] ...Looks like you have a new target for Cruel Attack practice.

Hmm...

[X] Hide it during the Dark Hour, so you can retrieve it later.

:???: I'm super lost here. Best guess is something about Nemi's saying SEES difficulty has in scanning Arcana past Hanged Man and Justice being the 11th Arcana, but Nemesis being Justice and numbered 8.

Invisitext.

[X] ...Looks like you have a new target for Cruel Attack practice.
-[X] Then dump the pieces out in the Dark Hour.

That why, there isn't some spear lying about somewhere, nor do we have more broken shit. We can always just make a new one, it only took a branch and some duct tape.

Little sad we never got to use it though.

Come on, we should have some pride in our first crafted Spear. Plus, we're unlikely to get a new one until we officially join SEES anyways. If we try crafting a new one, they'll know we plan to poke around the Dark Hour.

It's the first one. More specifically, this is about the nature of said difficulty.
"Well, this requires some context. I might have said this before, but Shadows and Personas are all sorted into one of twelve Arcana. And the Justice Arcana is number eleven. Yet when Nemesis is looked at in scans, the Arcana number is shown as eight."
To be fair, the scanning equipment they have also glitches when trying to view anything beyond the Hanged Man. An alternative reading isn't too strange compared to that, right?
So anything above Hanged Man is going to glitch, and drop 13? If so, will the number drop (Death (XIII) to Death (0)) or the Arcana (Death (XIII) to Fool (XIII))?

Plus, we're unlikely to get a new one until we officially join SEES anyways. If we try crafting a new one, they'll know we plan to poke around the Dark Hour.
We could just ask to join now. Ken was an excellent candidate two months ago when we first asked and he's only gotten stronger, he'll be 10 in three months, which isn't a very long time, and moving in with them makes the fact that they go out and fight monsters a much more intimate issue than when they lived in separate dorms. Worst case scenario, they say no on account of our age, and we wait the full three months.

Usually both, with a few exceptions for unusually powerful and stable Shadows and Personas- in this case, meaning the Reaper, or Personas that have been active for more than five years. They haven't yet noticed the glitches because they have so far been lucky enough not to encounter the former, and do not have regular access to any of the latter that are of the higher Arcana.

So Ken arcana is actually 21 and not justice at all? i mean 8+13 = 21 which is the World arcana

Well, I guess someone needs to break the draw? Might as well be me.

Moving Day
Hiding things is difficult. You need to put them where nobody will find them, otherwise, what's the point? And if you can't let anyone know that you have this, you need to both find the perfect hiding place and successfully take it there without anyone seeing you.

Thankfully, you have a method for the second part. It's called the Dark Hour, and all you have to do to use it is stay up late enough. Which admittedly means that you probably shouldn't have waited until the last minute for this, but you've managed it before, and you're sure you can again. You just need to nap in the afternoon, and hope you can find a place to stash the object before too long has gone by.

Decision made, and everything else packed, you decide to go to bed for a few hours. The more sleep you get, the easier being up in the Dark Hour will be, right?

Slipping out during the Dark Hour really is easier than it should be. You're constantly on guard for Shadows as you look for a safe spot to stash the stick, preferably relatively close to your new home, or at least somewhere that others won't see it.

Hopefully. If it disappears, it's not like you're losing anything valuable, but... you don't have that much as it is, so you shouldn't throw anything away.

Not when you could need it later.

There's a lot of coffins out tonight- you suppose people like the fact that it's starting to warm up again. Not that it really matters to you, but you suppose it would be annoying if Shadows attacked. Not that you can see any. It's just a nice night, which happens to have a moon that's far too big and low in the sky for your liking, while the streets are filled with blood and it feels like there's no other living beings in the world.

...Okay, so maybe it's not that nice after all. But the Dark Hour has never been an enjoyable time, it always just creeped you out. A little less now that you know a bit of what to expect from it, but still more than you would like.

Deciding that you just want to get this over with, you locate the nearest row of bushes and shove the stick under there. Hopefully, it'll still be there when you get around to coming back for it.

You hurry back to bed as quickly as you can, feeling a bit less safe without something to stab your enemies with. After that group of Shadows you came across last time... you really don't want to be out here without proper backup. Preferably someone who has some idea of what they're doing, but you're not picky. That's not exactly something you think you're likely to come by.

When you get back, you do the best you can to make it look like nothing has changed since the Dark Hour started. You're not sure how successful you are, but all you need to do is hope that nobody asks any questions.

Ikutsuki-san comes by to pick you up the next morning, as if you couldn't find your way there by yourself. But maybe he doesn't realize how often you've been visiting with the others. It's not like you've seen him that many times before, after all.

You follow behind him, and try to pretend that something about this doesn't still feel off. It's just a bit ahead of schedule, that's all. It's not like anything's going to change, unless you count the fact that you'll probably be getting less exercise.

You still aren't sure if Ikutsuki-san ever saw fit to inform Kirijo-san and the others that you'd be moving in with them. Mostly because it's just Kirijo-san on the ground floor when you get there, and she only looks up for a few seconds before shrugging and returning to her book.

"Amada-kun, it's good to see you made it here," She says, and you'd point out that she's not really seeing you when she's busy reading like that if not for the fact that it's just started to warm up outside again, and you don't want to return to being cold so quickly. "You'll be staying on the second floor, I trust you can find yourself an empty room without too much trouble."

You nod and hurry to do as she suggests, somehow already knowing exactly where you want to stay. Ikutsuki-san vanishes soon after, and you can't say you're sorry to see him go.

Still, you can't help but wonder... now what?

[ ] Just focus on unpacking. You're going to set this up just as the other you remembers it. (+Diligence)

[ ] Make sure Sanada-san and Shinjiro-san know you've arrived.
-[ ] And ask their advice on the writing your doing.
-[ ] And just try to make small talk.
-[ ] And ask if they feel anything... off... about Ikutsuki-san.

[ ] Spend some time talking with Kirijo-san. You're curious about a few things...
-[ ] Ask about her relationship with her Persona.
-[ ] Ask how her scanning abilities work.
-[ ] Start trying to figure out why your Arcana displays differently.
