"I'll do it," You say, clutching your spear tightly. You aren't too good about using it in proper combat, but as a focus to direct Frost Link... you think you can manage that much. "I think I'd... be able to get a better start than the others, sort of."
"That's right," Yukari-san realizes. "You've got those Link skills, haven't you?" The way she says them, it's as if the whole Link phenomenon is a foreign concept to her. Not that you'd had much chance to test out Psystrike Link in battle before you got here, but... you wonder if she even realizes that it's a proper part of your skillset.
Still, you're sure she'll get used to it eventually. After all, it's not like it's ever going to go away.
"...Are you sure about this?" Narukami-san, meanwhile, remains hesitant, for some reason. "You're probably going to be the first person it notices."
You nod. "I just need to get back to everyone as fast as possible, don't I?" And if it somehow doesn't follow you... That just means lots of free attacks. "And it'll probably take a while for it to be able to turn right." You'll be attacking from behind, after all. That generally takes some time to be able to react to.
Whether it's enough time to make your way back to the others... you're a bit less certain about that. But if you let on that you have doubts, you just know that Narukami-san will never agree to this.
"...All right, then." You wonder why, despite how he seems to trust you, he's so hesitant about letting you fight. It's not like you've ever been falling behind the others.
...Still. That's something to wonder about some other time. For now, you have a fight to start.
When you think about it, it's actually really simple. How quickly the FOE moves around depends on how quickly you move. No matter how many tiles you cross, it only rotates once for every individual step you take. So you can either take long strides, and let it move slowly, or speed up the rotation by awkwardly shuffling your way forward.
You much prefer the first option. It's a lot less nerve-wracking. It's also less likely to make you sick by forcing you to stare at a rapidly-spinning thing made of gold. But sometimes you need the second, if only so that, once you get to where you want to go, the FOE isn't staring right at you. You think that'd just be more trouble than it's worth.
Somehow, though, you get there, and in seconds you have your Evoker out. "Yaksini!" You call, still eliciting exactly no reaction from the Shadow in front of you. You're starting to wonder if it might be deaf. "Frost Link!"
There's definitely a reaction once your attack hits, though. For a moment, you freeze, surprised that you actually managed to get this far.
Then you remember that you were probably supposed to be doing something else.
[ ] You should... get back to everyone else as quickly as you can.
[ ] You should... keep attacking, since you sort of have the advantage here.
[ ] You should... see about getting out of the FOE's line of sight, you think that might be sort of important.
