Everyone spreads out to wait for Makoto-san, as the alternative is just charging in to a massive helltower. Elizabeth sits on the staircase, occasionally shooting glances in the direction of the Velvet Room.
Sitting next to her is probably not the safest thing in the world, but then, neither was letting someone who'd never driven before take you all to Tartarus at almost midnight while there's a massive typhoon going on outside, and you're still alive, aren't you?
Somehow. And I still can't believe we didn't get pulled over.
"Elizabeth-san?" You've got her attention now, which is, again, probably not the safest thing in the world. "There's... something I've been meaning to ask you."
"What is it? Whatever question you have, so long as it may be within the human mind's ability to comprehend, I will answer to the best of my ability. If I judge correctly, you may even keep your sanity." You're a bit concerned by how nonchalant she can be about this. "Though... I cannot guarantee we will have time to speak on the matter."
Right. Makoto-san could come back out of the Velvet Room at any moment, now, couldn't he? "Well... it's just one question, really... it's about Lavenza-san." Your friend, who probably saved your life during the full moon, and is the reason you're no longer concerned about assassins randomly showing up at the dormitory.
Elizabeth's gaze is unreadable. "Ah. That. My sister and I... We seem to be much alike, in one regard."
"And that would be?"
"We... I suppose you could say we care too much. Not that anyone from our family can watch over a Journey and not become attached to their Guest, but Margaret has never been given reason to act outside her duties, and Theo... I told him I would handle it, and that he doesn't need to get involved."
That's right... Even before this, he had a Makoto-san, as well.
You're not sure what the other two siblings have to do with this. From what Lavenza told you, you doubt any of them had responsibility for a Guest before Makoto-san showed up... except, perhaps, Elizabeth herself. If another timeline counts, because you've given up on pretending that it's impossible she could have knowledge of the future. You're just too scared to ask her.
"But... I'm not a Guest," You point out. You have one Persona, and you're not sure you'd be able to do anything if you had more of them taking up space inside your head. Besides, you get the feeling Personas don't pay rent.
"Not technically," She agrees. "But, that little Fool you are friends with... The Hermit, the Magician... Looking closely, I can see that they are tied to my sister's fate. And your Arcana..."
"I don't care about the Arcana." You still get weird looks about it, sometimes, though for the most part it seems everyone's decided not to question it. "I'm sure there's other people out there that have them like we do. I'm Lavenza-san's friend because I wanted to be, that's all."
"Whatever your reasoning, it still has the same results," Elizabeth points out. She opens her mouth to continue speaking, but is interrupted by the ringing of a loud bell. You look up, as well as everyone else, as the sound echoes around the Tartarus lobby.
"Th-that sound..." Shinjiro-san seems uneasy, like when he used to hold an Evoker with a chance of actually using it.
"It's like... some sort of bell." Yukari-san sounds a lot less nervous, like she's more curious than anything else, as the ringing dies away. "Fuuka-chan, could you take a look for a moment?"
"R-right. I'll summon Lucia, and- huh?"
"Is something wrong?" Morgana tilts his head to the side.
"N-no, I just... thought I saw a spider..."
"A spider?" Akihiko-san repeats. "In Tartarus?"
"I-I know, I was probably just imagining things... Anyway, I'll summon Lucia, and-"
-Suddenly, you are standing in an elevator that is continually rising, a clock on the wall above constantly turning, and almost anything being colored the exact same shade of blue.
Makoto-san turns around, looking at all of you. "Everyone... what are you doing here?"
"That is a very good question!" Theodore agrees, stepping forward. "Elizabeth, was this your idea?"
"Now, Theo, do you really think I have had anything to do with this?" She replies, sliding her hands into the pocket of her school uniform. "Besides, even if it were, I wouldn't be able to change the rules of this room. No being who wasn't born here may enter this room without a contract."
Lavenza looks around. "Brother, should I go fetch Margaret? We might not get another chance for a family reunion like this."
"There is no need for that," Elizabeth states. "We will be seeing her soon enough."
Crap, she knows none of us will remember this... She can get away with anything right now.
"I'm not... sure what you mean."
As soon as those words leave his lips, the Velvet Room- for this can be nowhere else- slows to a complete halt.
[ ] ...Why did the room stop moving?
[ ] Morgana's staring around the room with a strange look on his face...
[ ] You're just... going to sit down and hope things don't spiral too far out of control.
