[X] Zio's a good idea, right?

Here's hoping that this one's week to electricity, then.

Okay, moving onto something that might actually have an effect...

For those wondering, your other potential enemies were a group of Protective Lexies. Taken individually, they would probably have been a much easier fight.

Okay, so stabbing this thing isn't working... what next? All of the magic available to you will probably do something to light up the area, so that's not a concern... but you need to act before it can attack you, and you know it's just about to do that.

Without giving it much more thought, you reach a hand forward and let sparks fly. The tank stops moving, but is very clearly still functional, since it hasn't dissolved yet. You decide that this is as good a chance as any to get away from it.

"...Did you just pick a fight with a Shadow immune to physical attacks?" Shinjiro-san doesn't seem to be doing anything. Then again, with how much nothing your spear did, you suppose there's not much help he'd be able to give.

"I guess?" You throw another bolt of lightning. "Do you think the dolls on the other path would have been easier? I mean, I wouldn't want to get swarmed..." You aren't entirely sure why you're asking for advice from someone who freely admits to being a figment of your subconscious' imagination, but Shinjiro-san's always had good advice for you before. At the very least, he's probably the most likely person in the whole dorm to be completely honest with you.

The tank continues blocking the corridor. Once it starts moving again, it starts taking aim at you. You zap it again.

You realize, of course, that you can't do this forever. If the tank pushes you out to the split in the road the dolls might join in, and then you'll have to deal with everything you were trying to avoid. But the Shadow doesn't seem to be very good at shifting where it's aiming at, so as long as it doesn't start rolling forward...

"I mean, at least I'd be able to fight the dolls," Shinjiro-san points out. "...Probably. You don't exactly see them around Tartarus."

...Is he implying that it's relatively normal to see tanks around Tartarus? You don't know if you should find that exciting or horrifying. Given how you've resorted to keeping up a steady stream of lightning so you don't get shot, you're leaning more towards horrifying at the moment.

You aren't sure, really, how to tell how hurt a Shadow is, but you think you might be making progress. "They did look a lot less sturdy than this." Not that you can go back and fight them instead. You've missed your chance. You throw another lightning bold. "But they probably wouldn't be this easy to hit." You wonder if you should be talking so loudly, or if it'll just bring a bunch of dolls down on your heads.

But then, with all the electricity that's been hitting it, the tank doesn't seem like so much of a threat as something to drain your magical energy- you can feel yourself starting to get tired of it.

...Maybe it's not too late to run? You could lose it in these passages, probably...

But before you can do so much as begin to formulate an escape plan, Shinjiro-san speaks up. "You know how Shadows are a lot weaker when they're knocked down?"

You're aware of this, yes, even if this thing recovers too quickly for you to do much more than spend your energy keeping it down so it won't actually attack. "Yeah."

"Well, if multiple people were to team up on one, it wouldn't work the same as a regular attack." You have no idea where he got that hammer from, but that's probably not the only thing you should be questioning here.

[ ] Keep doing what you've been doing.

[ ] Attempt to retreat.

[ ] All-Out Attack!

[X] All-Out Attack!

Was there ever any other choise? (That made as much sense. There's at least two official ones, and an implied write-in, which are technically... Nevermind)

[X] All-Out Attack!

I've been nuking the hell out of everything with Myriad Truths, so Almighty damage has won my vote.

Wait, question, doesn't attacking them with their weakness again once they're knocked down stun them?

If so, that would be more useful than an All-Out attack.

IIRC, it depends on the game. In some games getting hit with a weakness while Downed stuns, others have Downed already treated as a stun and hitting a Downed character removes the Downed Status.

It's been a while, since I've played the games. So I could be remembering wrong.

...Yeah, I sort of figured.

My only real rule for deciding what Ken can encounter here is: no Mayas, no Hableries, no Personas or unique bosses. Other than that... One later encounter idea is a pair of different types of Scales that like to swap places. Or, even later, a quartet. Maybe don't look forward to that one.

You take a moment to consider Shinjiro-san's idea. It doesn't take long- not only could this be more effective than what you've been doing, it sounds really cool. What reason do you have not to try?

"All right then." You fire another bolt of electricity, just to make sure the tanks stays down, and then you move.

It's... odd. The spear in your hand feels lighter for some reason, and this one doesn't have the excuse of being a weapon that was clearly once part of some eldritch horror or something. It hasn't actually gotten any lighter, or longer, and you're willing to bet actual money that the end isn't pointier, though of course you've never paused to check much either way.

As long as it stabs things, it's fine.

Honestly, you don't fully expect your picked-up weapon to do much to the tank either way. History would look a lot different if tanks were easily punctured with spears.

And then you succeed in stabbing a tank. You think this might just be your coolest dream ever. Sadly, you don't get to do it twice, because Shinjiro-san's hit turns it into pulp, but you still stabbed a tank.

You're feeling sort of tired now, but with the Shadow gone, you want to see what's in the rest of the corridor. You know, assuming it doesn't just dump you back out into the maze.

"...Would the FOE be stronger than that?" You find yourself asking. Just to make sure you're on the same page about how bad it would be to be on those tracks with the bird coming down.

"Most of the time, they're the strongest thing around. The ones that aren't you can tell by how they're really annoying. They'll mess up your sense of direction, or something, and then end up outclassed by enemies that can do things besides hit you really hard." You get the distinct feeling that he's speaking from experience here. Whether his own or Nemi's, you have no idea.

Still, the impression you get from this is that the bird's one of the strong ones. You'd sort of suspected that already, what with the giant glowing trails that may or may not be parts of its body, but it's nice to have it properly confirmed.

You make a mental note to avoid the bird even more carefully from now on. Not that you were really considering the idea of fighting it, but the possibility had occurred to you.

Suddenly, you feel the urge to stop. You don't have as much magic currently available to you as you'd like, but it's enough to give yourself a better look at the area around you.

There is, in fact, an actual color to this section of the maze. It's brown. It can't really seem to decide on a uniform shade, and your magic's insistence on being completely golden probably doesn't help much with that, but it's not all the magic's fault, particularly when some of the darkest spots are closer to you.

One of the walls has a giant web of cracks on it, as though you could break through to another side. Another wall- you somehow came out in a place where a lot of passages connect- has a small cavity in it, like something is meant to be placed there.

And you understand. There is something you have to do here. Or... maybe that's not the right choice of words.

Maybe a more accurate definition would be: You have to do something.

[ ] Place something in the cavity.
-[ ] Your hand.
-[ ] The ball of light.

[ ] Try to break through the cracked wall.
-[ ] With magic.
-[ ] With the Treason Couse.

[ ] Don't do anything.

[ ] Try to break through the cracked wall.
-[ ] With Cruel Attack

(Isn't it's whole job description breaking holes in damaged things/exploiting damage or weaknesses to destroy the target,it's tailor made for smashing this)
