So, now that everyone realizes just why a world with no maximum number of spells will make Naoto Shirogane absolute bullshit once she shows up...

Sadly, we do not get to see a chain of events potentially leading to people bemoaning the fact that a nine-year-old can see gaps in logic that they missed. Maybe next time.

Yeah, they REALLY need to learn to follow at least some parts of the Evil Overlord List.

Think we could introduce it to them?

How about we don't inadvertently make the villains smarter by pointing out they can make mistakes and overlook things? We don't need Ikutsuki realizing better planning.

Testing, Take One
Honestly, you wonder just why the first reaction these scientists have to anything is to hand someone a gun and ask them to shoot themselves with it. That just sounds like an altogether terrible idea, even if the odds of you ever getting your hands on an actual gun are astronomically low. Because one day, someone with a Persona is going to be in a position where they could own a gun, and that would be just asking for trouble.
That is... far too true. I'm honestly surprised nothing ever happened... well, for that reason, anyway...
But you still take the Evoker anyway, because you don't say no to the people with secret labs they could make you disappear to and never come back, because they actually admitted that they had those. Really, there is something very wrong with these people, and you don't want to know what that is, because it would require you to get somewhere near to that particular brand of crazy.

And, well, you use an Evoker, so you clearly can't be all right in the head to begin with. As if meeting Nemi wasn't confirmation enough.
I mean, with some people, having a Persona is actually a sign of mental stability. Just... not necessarily in this case.
So, instead, you just go through the motions again. It feels almost routine, the feel of your finger on the trigger, and that makes you seriously question your own mental state. You know, more than you were already.

That's probably going to happen every time, and honestly, that scares you a lot more than the idea of shooting yourself in the head does.
Yeah, in hindsight, I'm almost surprised Akihiko-san passed gun safety...
"Nemesis!" You call, deciding that thinking about it any further is just going to lead to more problems. There's the shattering glass, the flash of light, and finally you get to see your Persona with your own eyes instead of feeling it with your mind.

You're not sure why... but for some reason, you almost expected it to be less blue, no matter how impossible that is, because Nemesis has always been this way. You don't know where the idea of him being orange even comes from, since that's as far away from blue as it's possible to get. Maybe you've been wearing that too-big hoodie of yours just a bit too often lately.

Or maybe it's just the fact that summoning still makes your head kind of fuzzy. You aren't sure if that's normal or yet, and you're sort of scared to ask.

"It's not as strong as it was last time," Kirijo-san comments, her eyes flashing with that same something you saw before, yet it somehow confuses you more than it did last time. "But this is the same Persona he called last week, and it seems to have stabilized on its own."

"It was unstable before?" You hear one of the people in coats ask. Not that you could point out which one, even a few seconds after. Your mind feels weird, like it's been turned into cotton candy and marshmallow fluff. For the most part. There's a few things you can focus on. Mitsuru-san is one of them.

You think Akihiko-san and Shinjiro-san might be focal points as well, but they're not around right now, and one experience the first time you called Nemesis does not a pattern make. Mitsuru-san's here right now, answering questions others ask of her, so you can just focus on her.

"It was, at the point of initial summoning. Mostly, there were discrepancies in the form it took, though it eventually settled on what you see here. Nemesis of the Justice Arcana."

A few more of the scientists say things that you don't quite catch, or care enough to pay attention to. Some of them are probably making observations of their own, but it all just passes you by until you notice them trying to get your attention.

"What is it?" You ask.

"For a proper evaluation, we would ask you to utilize your Persona's powers." It takes a few moments for the sentence to parse properly, but eventually you nod.

But which power should you show off?

[X] Dia

Gotta get that Empathy boost, and we can't be that far from Empathy 3. Kind of surprised Hama doesn't have a shiny-attached, given it is the one we're most skilled with.

[X] Dia

I want that Empathy boost as well. I have to admit though, I wonder how they would react to Kouha, since in P3 the only light/bless line of spells is Hama

@SeekerofDreams: Are we allowed to suggest possible Channelling Tricks for future use? Cause if so, I'll try to develop some, Dia ones probably as a personal challenge.

Sure, go ahead. Can't promise to use all of them, but it's take suggestions or pour over science books, mostly.
That sound pretty good idea, I'll try to think of some as well.

Actually, I've been wondering about something regarding Dia. How does it exactly work? Time Reversal? Greatly increased regeneration with creation of fat and other stuff through to be used by body? Providing inner Shadow/Persona with energy it uses to heal the damage on conceptual level, which reflects on the real body?

Considering it doesn't work on things like sickness or dizzyness, but works on injuries, would it affect cancer? Speed it up, slow down or cure? How about brain damage?

How do you explain the fact that a single gunshot could kill Shinjiro, when Ken would have used Dia or rather Diarama to heal him?

Can Dia line (not necessarly Dia, but maybe Diarama or Diarahan) re-attach limbs? Can it regrow them? How about internal organs?

Can Dia line be used to repair mechanical stuff? It worked on Aigis despite the fact that she doesn't have human body, but we have never seen it used on something like motorbike.

Dia works on dogs. Does it work on insects? Bacteria?

Can Dia be used to heal only particular injury, while leaving others unaffected, like healing one arm but not healing the other one?

Well, it's more question than I expected and I understand that some of them can be difficult to answer, but I feel like all of them are important. If you don't want to answer some of them, I can accept that we have to either discover it ourselves, or it's just one of those things we are not supposed to think about (and if that's the case than I won't), but I would like it if you could say which of those it is.

... Ok, it's the last question, and not even about Dia. Will there be characters from Persona: The Revelations, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, or Persona 2: Eternal Punishment? I haven't really played any of them much, but I remember something about Kirijo group being a part of a larger organisation in the past, which they left, and that the organisation belonged to one of the characters from the pre-3 games.

...You know, I actually have answers for some of these.
How do you explain the fact that a single gunshot could kill Shinjiro, when Ken would have used Dia or rather Diarama to heal him?
There's several reasons for this, but the big one is that healing magic only works on somebody if they want it to. (Shinji, I love you, but you make terrible choices.)
Can Dia line (not necessarly Dia, but maybe Diarama or Diarahan) re-attach limbs? Can it regrow them? How about internal organs?
Diarahan, maybe if the injury is new enough. Even then, it's a coin toss.
Can Dia line be used to repair mechanical stuff? It worked on Aigis despite the fact that she doesn't have human body, but we have never seen it used on something like motorbike.

Dia works on anything that has a soul. Given the nature of Plumes of Dusk, one could make a case for particularly potent healing spells working on Mitsuru's bike. Once she gets it. It'll be a birthday present.

Maya Amano and Maki Sonomura both live in Iwatodai. One of them is far more likely to show up than the other.

Is that it? Yes? Okay, then.

Now to use healing magic in a way that's actually relevant to current events!

@Hejtan
re: Dia working on Aigis and Koro-chan; maybe Dia works on anybody who has a persona?
That's what I was thinking when I first played Persona, but then I have been asking 'Why?' and well... Any way, QM answered that, so now we know.

There's several reasons for this, but the big one is that healing magic only works on somebody if they want it to. (Shinji, I love you, but you make terrible choices.)
That makes so much sense, but it doesn't explain why Akihiko can't just get his injury healed and must wait (a month iirc?) to join the party...

Diarahan, maybe if the injury is new enough. Even then, it's a coin toss.
No losing limbs, got it. Making sure Aki and Shinji don't lose them as well, got it even more.

Dia works on anything that has a soul. Given the nature of Plumes of Dusk, one could make a case for particularly potent healing spells working on Mitsuru's bike. Once she gets it. It'll be a birthday present.
How self-aware do you have to be to have a soul? A dog has a soul. A cat probably as well. Do birds have one? Do insects? Do... Ok, I'll stop and not annoy you further.

Maya Amano and Maki Sonomura both live in Iwatodai. One of them is far more likely to show up than the other.
Och my, that makes things much more interesting, and throwns in even more confusion to 'battle system'. There is what, 20 different types of damage in Persona 2?

Also, sorry for asking additional question, I'm just the type to question such things and a fan of exploting the way powers work to achive different effects that normal...

Well, first, all he's got at that point is Dia. Second, as Shinji mentioned, he keeps forgetting it's there. Mitsuru keeps waiting for him to catch on, he doesn't, he goes to school obviously injured, and at that point people might notice if he heals too quickly. Well done.
