When you find Mitsuru-san, she has a laptop open in front of her, a set of homework questions to her side and five books about things you're pretty sure aren't covered in high school classes. Maybe. "...You've at least been eating recently, right?" You check, just to be sure you don't have to stage another intervention.
She nods, but you aren't wholly sure you believe her. You'll have to check with the others later, just to be sure. "Is there something you wanted?"
There must be a way for you to explain all this that doesn't sound weird, or crazy, or bring up time travel more than maybe once or twice in the conversation. If there is, it probably involves telepathy.
Convenient, that you can say you're friends with one of, if not the only telepath in town. "I think... something's going to happen soon," You say, trying not to think too hard about the one thing you're almost certain would have happened this year, if your circumstances hadn't changed around. "At least, that's what Lavenza-san says, and I agree, but I can't really say why." You look her in the eye, wondering if she's going to figure out what you're getting at.
Of course she does.
I'm not entirely sure how to explain this, either. But, at the start of the school year, someone is going to appear that has the power to change things.
"I'm not sure I've ever had a year that was completely quiet," She points out, eyes somehow brighter than her computer screen, for all that they are still the deepest, darkest shade of red you've ever seen on a person. "Not since I first obtained my Persona."
You suppose that makes sense. With the Dark Hour around, living so close to Tartarus, it's not something that would ever really be free of danger. "Yeah, but this is... it's going to be big. Big enough that Lavenza-san won't be around so often anymore." Not that you can say anything more than that.
Your friend tells you things, sometimes, of blue Velvet Rooms and musicians who play forever and books containing pages and pages of Personas, but you barely understand any of it, and maybe you aren't meant to.
But no matter what she says, it has an air of truth to it, and you're sure Mitsuru-san would understand that, if she were ever to properly meet Lavenza.
I don't think the Velvet Room ever involves itself in things less than the fate of humanity unless Elizabeth-san wants a sandwich or something.
Still, she has a look of concern on her face, and you wonder, just for a moment, if maybe you made a mistake in giving her even more to worry about. "I see. I will... take this into consideration." The light in her eyes fades, and you're glad she didn't let her curiosity take over, to bring up the things you're scared of knowing for sure yourself.
You know how it all probably happened, you just can't face the prospect of being told outright.
Thankfully, Mitsuru-san is still turning up for meals. You aren't sure what you would have done if she'd stopped- probably asked Akihiko-san and Shinjiro-san for help again, actually- but you guess it doesn't matter anymore.
Well, until she finds the next thing to obsess over anyway, which you don't think you particularly helped with. Not that you're going to admit to anyone that you purposefully gave her something more to stress herself out with. That can stay secret for a little longer.
Honestly, whatever's going to happen, it doesn't appear to be starting up yet, so you might as well not worry about it yet. You have better things to do. (Pick up to three.)
