Oh, I had the impression that option was there for if we thought of a good move aside from the actions already provided, not that we needed to do something ASAP with it.

I'm pretty sure we have to explicitly take the quest action? I'm basing that assumption off of this tho

These actions will allow her and others within her circle to begin to make progress on the overarching quest. :o Oh, that does sound a bit more pressing. We did at least find out about that early though and got a big bonus from our letter home for it.

What action would we write in?

My personal preference, assuming we don't have a good idea for the action to take for the quest on that free action, would be to do three social actions this week and only one cultivation of DEJ, then take two next week. Since its statistically likely to take 3 actions exactly to hit DEJ lvl 1 (... hopefully not more), I'd rather prioritize one more social action this month since I believe we have three that are worth that sacrifice.

Honestly, she'd put it off for long enough, but Quan Jia would see her friend wearing decent clothes if it killed her. It wouldn't really kill her though, would it?
-[] Though it would be hard for anyone else to tell, Mei Mei was clearly being even more sarcastic than normal. It was time for Quan Jia to drag her off for a spa day. This wasn't because I keep grounding her, right?

But on the other hand, we're going to get even more social actions to juggle next month! So I'm undecided.

A couple of other options to consider! Grassroot's social either takes a gamble that we will cultivate our Art during Sect Class (or get a pill that assists) or that we'll find a relevant cultivation site for the automatic explore action. If those don't happen, then the plan will likely delay DEJ Level 2 until Month 2 Week 3 at the earliest. Plan Noble Social + Cultivation allows us to still keep on track while creating a better relationship with Meng Chao.

@dmclain2 you've mentioned before that we need to master the first level of our art to use it, whereas we can use SGS lvl 1 without having to master it. Does that mean the progression for the former for us is as normal (25xp to be able to use lvl 1, and 50xp on top of that to be able to use lvl 2/see lvl 3), whereas for SGS putting 25xp into it technically does nothing for us, whilst putting a further 50xp into it gets us lvl 2 as normal?

No, you'll unlock technique levels as you get to them rather than arts when you master them. So 25xp will provide the improvement to the sand technique

Level 2 in at least one art or technique is required to imbue the Quartz Soul with a resonance. You'll hear more about it in cultivation class (or exposition elsewhere if that option's not chosen).

Level 3 is where bonuses start coming in to play, though again, you'll hear more about the mechanics etc. turn 5.

    • it is rather remarkable. Like I mentioned, it is a narrative reward, so if someone else wants to sub in their role, I'll take the next result instead.
