Scrift Wars: The Power of Words. A Battle High-School Quest.

The numbers above the images didn't show up the first time I posted...you just need to vote with the number, not the picture.

[X] Gopher
I said I wanted a Gopher, so I'm voting for a Gopher!
... Although I could be swayed to go for a Gopher Tortoise as well.

[X] 1
No real reason, it just appeals to me a bit more.

[X] My lineage goes back many generations; we are a family steeped in the world of magic and some of my ancestors grace the pages of history books with their great deeds. People know my name and family crest, as does our family's many enemies.
You could say our family goes back... An Eternity.

[X] Turtle

...what? Turtles are awesome! Plus even if Lilly's agelessness doesn't extend to her familiar, like I hope it does, turtles can live for hundreds of years.

[X] 2

Sciency look is the best look.

[X] I'm a first generation mage, nobody in my family history has had magic...as far as we know. I'm just kind of winging it and seeing how it all works out. On the bright side no family baggage in the magical world to worry about.

Avoids starting with enemies and the disconnect between Lilly's mundane family and her status as a mage should help her deal with the fact they'll all (hopefully) die centuries before her.

[X] Dog
C'mon everyone knows a dog is the best familiar,I don't really care which breed it is.

Best look to me.

Lets make our non-magic family proud.

Being a first generation mage plays into the idea that she's lucky.

Come on, let's get something that's actually vicious! And lazy, but vicious as well! Also, actually pettable! Don't you want to feel the soft, confortable fur! It' so good for relaxing!

Just so you know the pecking order of the world.

Turtles did not evolve a shell to hide from the world. They evolved it so they don't have to worry about defense!

[X] Fennec

The ears would be just too cute.

Lucky patient coward pacifist animals...?

[X] Hare

As a (not so) side benefit hares are also symbols of eternity, believe it or not, especially in groups of three, arranged in a circle. They also have other connections to circles, like the old belief about them going around your house. If you wander out of Europe, a white hare stands on the moon making the elixir of life, the ultimate goal of all alchemy (sort of).

Though, if you're interested in a familiar that would act as foil, rather than enable Lily's laziness and other traits, you could go for something else.

Not to fuffed about appearance, nor family status, really. Just thought I should mention the excellency of the hare.

[ ] Squirrel
[X] Gopher

Though any rodent would do, gophers included. I just want something less trite.

[X] 1

[X] One of my parents was a first generation mage, so we weren't totally clueless as to what was happening when I started using magic. They weren't the best at magic, but at least they had some idea of what to do.
- [X] My mom is the mage.

[X] Monkey

One of those little capuchins. They're good at using tools, so we can make them help us

Monkey is a good pet for lazy person. Has hands, and Familiars are smart, so it can do our work for us.
Kind of want to be semi relatable to the family though.

@Whiteeyes , question: What size exactly constitutes a small animal?

"Sit on your shoulder" small?
"Can be carried with both arms" small?
"Technically smaller than a fully functional battlestation" small?

Turtle now stands tied with Dog for our familiar ! Come swing the balance towards Best!Familiar with a vote for Turtle!
If I recall correctly, Whiteeyes does votes by plans unless specified otherwise. Meaning that gopher has as good a chance as anything else currently.

Stated otherwise.

This vote is by category, not plan.

I suppose I can turn-coat for an adorably soft and fluffy turtle.

@Whiteeyes Does the familiar have to be a animal? Can I choose a insect?
Insects are animal, why would you think otherwise?

More the second one as the upper limit. Like if you got a dog you could get a Boston terrier, but not a border collie.
