Don't want to do Hammer Industries again, and the Hedgehound doesn't seem appealing to me.
 
I Like the sealurk. It's a very nice looking design. But it doesn't match what we need right now. It'd be Perfect if a stalemate were ongoing, and i want to see it again later. Sadly, right now, we need something solid and quick and easy to build.

The only experimental systems are ion cannon and ion PD, of which only former is important.

On the other hand, it have gravitic drive rather than fusion torch, which will benefit from recent advances.

As much as I like the idea of our LAC analogue, the Hedgehound, we need things that can survive long enough to gain numbers and hurt the enemy.

After careful consideration, I'm going with the Hedgehound. It's stealth and heavy firepower make it a useful, and decently survivable, combatant.

It's not a flying death trap like one of the older offerings. Sure, lot's of them are going to die, but we're up against a wall here, and the stealth systems does offer a chance of survival, along with the heavy armament that can allow them to kill things faster, which also increases survivability.

Not to mention that we can boost up it's defensive capabilities with the after-market mods.

Not Precisely. A Space U-Boat would have an active stealth system.

The Hedgehound just greatly minimizes its signature. Less cloaking, more low-sig.

Peace and Security, Incorporated, while disappointed that the Sealurk wasn't chosen, still won't hesitate to try to sell you things.

With their experience in missile combat, as well as large amounts of missile combat data, both from the Swordfish, Peace and Security, Incorporated is offering you the Chorus Cluster Missile to outfit the Hammerhead with. The Chorus Cluster Missile splits into multiple independently guided submunitions when it enters the enemy point defense radius, greatly increasing its ability to penetrate their active countermeasures. And it'll be the Hammerhead's for the low low cost of Fifty Spacebucks.

Oh, and they'd still like to rent out Lehara for a season for that new laser technology they're trying to develop. As with last season, they'd be willing to pay you one hundred Spacebucks for the privilege of her working with them.

Hammer Industries, while happy that you are buying the Hammerhead, are also offering an optional, and experimental, upgrade. In exchange for one hundred Spacebucks, they'd be willing to sell you some advanced Regenerative Ablative Armor to replace the normal Ablative Armor. You aren't really sure how it works, but armor that regrows in combat sounds good, right?

Arms Unlimited is still being strangely passive, not seeming to be bothered that you didn't choose the Savage. But they are still willing to sell you access to their archives of every known railgun in existence, which should help in designing the railguns on the Hammerhead. For the small cost of Fifty Spacebucks.

X.A.B. has declined attempting to sell you something this season. They're apparently trying something experimental with the new breakthrough in gravity control that's taking up all their attention. Hopefully that's good.

Meanwhile, Drone and Fiddler is offering you some experimental Gyrojet Rounds for the railguns. If they work, they'd nicely increase the damage and range of the Hammerhead's weapons. All they want in exchange is Twenty Five Spacebucks.

I'd rather not find out about the Nanite Hive issues in the field, but ask them to continue studying it.

Gyrojets are really simple, so a good investment.

Nothing experimental, untested, or super expensive/complicated, while still increasing effectiveness? Works for me.

We really should have lent Lehara out last turn, then we would have had enough money for the Regen armor this turn. Well, we can work with longer range and harder hitting upgrades, which should increase the stealth shields effectiveness greatly if they don't have to get as close to attack.

The plan is to build a simple easily mass produced design, stick to the plan. Also, it really seems like we never have enough money.
