Also for thor this is why in the plan we dragged the iron sentinels into this, Thor's whole purpose is producing stuff to space marine chapters, what would they do if both space marine chapters they have been supplying decided to go against baldur, they would lose their purpose and their greatest defenders if they become hostile to both us and the iron sentinels. And there's a reason we are going after the Emperor titan, if we win the fight on sif decisively enough, with the Emperor titan as a carrot we may be able to overthrow the current orthodox leadership of Baldur and have them change sides, For freya hopefully they back off after that and we can try diplomacy maybe give them our stcs to regain some relationships, if they stay stubborn then we will have to blockade their forge world and try to decapitate their leadership and put sif or odin or loki magos as archmagos instead

To that I prefer loki as our archmagos candidate as our candidate cause they're values are in line with ours. But if we need mediation and balance we'll need a magos from Odin cause they still have the pedigree of formerly strongest Forgeworld of the sector though I do worry they could be vengeful against baldur cause they did not help them. And a no for me for sif cause thats not gonna fly with the zealous baldur and they are not gonna fly with the whole emperor over omnissiah that sif has as they started the war over it.

An unexpected benefit of the sons leaving is them taking the remaining pirate lords and there fleets have left with them so freeing a lot of the void trading that was being disrupted by them and makes the job of battlefleet asgardia easier as they can now focus on the freebootas and the Dark Eldar or minor xenos.

Also @Oshha question how famous is might of Storms to the sector and the forgeworlds due to being the great Savior of forgeworld Odin and being a Reliquary ship cause It could be a reason of them backing down without too much bloodshed being involved cause the cogboys respect a super ship. This mostly speculation and using our presence to scare them off without a fight.

-[X] Call in a Major Favor from the Iron Sentinels to have a Company help at Sif
Ah, I just looked at the vote and I forgot to mention that while it would only take a Major Favour to get the Carmine Talons involved, it would cost an Honourbound Favour to get the Iron Sentinels to get inolved because they would rather stay out of it and not pick sides.

Likewise with Battlefleet Asgardia or any of the other factions in the Asgardia Sector.

Would it cause any negative feels between the Chapters to call that in? I personally don't mind using it (favors are made to be called in after all) but harming our relationship is a far more long-lasting consequence then just losing a HB favor.

The Iron Sentinels won't resent you calling for their aid at Sif or hold it against you.

I still dont think attacking Sif is gonna be a good idea, the turn 100 event with the Storm avengers coming in has shaken things up, we havent even done the barest of actions to find out their opinion of the mechanicum.
RandomEngiSeer said:
I really dont think deploying titans to Sif is a good idea, there are very few worlds that can take down titans, Forge worlds are right up there with fortress worlds, if our invasion stalls out, we will not be able to reclaim the titan husks, and our production will be set back by quite literal turns worth of production each. Titans arent something we just throw at the enemy, we need allied forces who can protect titans if they get destroyed so that we can reclaim them and rebuild them.
ArchMagos Nu-12 said:
Relax, they wouldnt dare march against titans! And besides, from what the status tab does say about them, it says they have positive relations with the other forge worlds. They wouldnt dare invoke the ire of every orthodox forge world! After we take sif, we can destroy Loki at long last, and the resources they squander on their stupid pursuits can be spent on actually defending the sector instead!

And if they do? @Progress You think they can do anything to us? We are a forge world, the center of industry in the imperium, if we so much as strike their name from our dealings, they are ruined. —[X] take everything
–[X] Legio Fulgaran: Write in:Sif
—[X] Crush the walls of the forge city, Let the tech Guard spill in and loot anything that isnt nailed down.
The deployment to Sif Goes well, with dissenting tech priest and magi silenced under the boot of popular opinion, even when their fears were well justified.

The fleet of Sif yields the oribtals, their single battlecruiser and escorts standing no chance against twice its number in capitals, and the veritable fleet that support it. The sacred storm of course arrives to support Sif, but even their masses of cruisers can not fight against the fleet in any serious action.

All goes to plan, with legio Fulgaran marching upon Forge City Alpha Primus, when a Strike cruiser from the Storm avengers transitions into system. It nearly manages to board the titan conveyer Omnisiahhs will, but is driven back by both Motive's destiny and Machine's Defiance burning for them. That however, is not the worst news. Across the sector, the skalds of the storm avengers denounce forge world baldur, claiming that Legio Fulgaran are cowards for refusing to face their opposite number in legio Ignavus. And that Baldur has broken its oaths to ommnissiah and emperor for refusing to come to odins aid. It is very likely that the full might of the storm avengers will come down upon baldur as the invasion of odin is wrapped up, with the might of storms, the storm avengers Reliquary battlebarge, once said to have served in fleet XIV zero, struck down titan after titan upon odins surface.
Freya, receives aid from the storm avengers in the form of the battle barge void thunder coming to contest the Drac's inferior battleship, which is driven off with little fuss. They quickly declare in support of baldur, with many in the sector not looking kindly upon them accepting help from those who declared themselves to be upon sifs side.

The Storm avengers have issued a challenge to the fleet over sif, Leave, and Do not engage in attacks against other loyalist groups until the sector's current crisisies are over, and the storm avengers swear this will not effect their dealings with any forge world, and they will allow for any invasion once the sector is not on the brink of collapse.

AN: there is a very good reason that mission was not on the mission list despite you guys talking about it. The storm avengers were a 99 on the d100, and proceed to roll near perfect stats for their generation. The only catch? And the reason they aren't a nat 100? Was because they don't tolerate loyalist fighting. For them, you attacking other loyalists, especially when other forge worlds are at risk makes you nearly as bad as chaos. Congratulations, you just made enemies with the only Group in the sector that has even odds against every orthodox forgeworld combined… oh, and don't forget they just saved Odins ass, Legio Ignavus would have destroyed Odin if not for the storm avengers, so don't expect their help

Sector happenings will be added in part two. Mostly because it's affected by this choice

prymr said:
If you had read through the Sector Happenings you would have seen they have four battle barges, and currently have twelve strike cruisers, I should also note they are a fourth founding chapter who have openly stated that their fleet has upgrades from archeotech, Thor's prestige increase from turn 101? That was from them refitting their fleet with the archeotech schematics the storm avengers shared with them. You have been warned in every way i could. And you still have a chance to back out.

the Storm Avengers have way too much to focus on, they can't send everything to sif. We just deploy our battleship, and then we can defeat them in detail. What are they going to do? Send every battlebarge and cruiser they can at us?

Little did that negaverse Magos know, the Space Marines really did send everything; the Marines ain't scared of no Forgeworld.
They made the mistake of thinking that Space Marines wouldn't get everything they can spare to throw at the guys who crossed the red-line they setup. When the Emperor's Angels of Death tell you something that you shouldn't do lest you make them angry, you best believe it isn't a bluff.

Should we not have call in the Navy to help in this fight with 2 forge worlds, or would that hurt the navy and sector in the long run as those 2 forge worlds would have hated the navy and sector leadership?

Honestly, I think we should keep the Navy out of this. It was said that if we do involve them our relationship will take a dip b/c they do NOT want to get involved with this and Reximus doesn't want to touch this with a 10ft pole. I think we can do this without them and just with us, the Iron Sentinels, the Carmine Talons and the Sif Subsector

Skald-Commander Birgit Bjornsen approaches confidently as she approaches the training field where Aphalin Kephata, Chapter Master of the Carmine Talons awaits. She had initially been worried that the nominally traitor status of the Storm Avengers would get in the way of the traditional friendship between the two Chapters, but it seemed that Chapter Master Torvald's prediction had been correct. Rather than imprison or execute her, the guards had checked with the Chapter Master of the Carmine Talons and then a battle-brother of the Carmine Talons had shown up to escort her to Aphalin.

While this is Birgit's first time actually meeting with the Carmine Talons, she had learnt about this particular group of sons of Sanguinius like all Skalds of the Storm Avengers. Founded three thousand years ago in the 22nd Founding, the Carmine Talons were originally a fleet-based Chapter before earning the right to settle down in the Choth Sector two thousand years ago. Unlike the Storm Avengers who take an active hand in the governing of their homeworld, the Carmine Talons are hands off and have little to do with their local population before searching for aspirants and performing regular hunts for heretics and mutants.

In terms of belief, the Carmine Talons are odd if acceptable as they believe in the purity of their flesh, seeing it as holy perfection granted to them by their gene-father and the God-Emperor. They train their bodies and minds harshly and fiercely as they seek to be ready for any challenge. While the Adeptus Mechanicus proclaims the weakness of flesh, the Carmine Talons profess the inferiority of the machine. They disdain biotics and when one of their brothers loses a body part, they always make sure to clone an organic replacement as not a single Carmine Talon uses bionics.

This has led to an obvious conflict between the Carmine Talons and the Adeptus Mechanicus though it rarely leads to outright conflict. Instead, the Carmine Talons are shunned by forge worlds and are forced to rely upon the local industry of their home world. Considering their homeworld is a hive world, that has proven more and sufficient for their needs.

And it is that enmity that Chapter Master Torvald is counting on. That the Carmine Talons will leap at the chance to the aid of their long-time allies against their long-time rivals.

When Birgit enters the training yard, she is greeted by the sight of sweaty and near-naked Astartes sparring with each other, sometimes with blades and sometimes with fists. Taking a moment to compose herself, the Skald-Commander lets herself to be led to Aphalin Kephata, where the man is training blows with two of his brothers.

"Little daughter of the Storm Avengers!" calls Alphalin as the spar ends in a moment and the Chapter Master of the Carmine Talons turns to greet Birgit, "What brings you to my halls?"

"The Storm Avengers would request your aid," says Birgit, "They go to war with two forge worlds in the Asgardia Sector and would request a company of the Carmine Talons come to their aid."

"A company?" exclaims Alphalin as the brothers around stiffen at Birgit's words, "For the aid of our oldest friends, against the cogheads? Nay, we shall send more than just a company. Little daughter, let the Storm Avengers know that their cousins will send whatever aid they can spare."

***

The strike force that goes to Forge World Sif is an impressive one. The Storm Avengers commit all three available battle barges along with five strike cruisers and all of their assorted escorts while the Chapter Master will be going with 1st Company and 9th Company. The Iron Sentinels will honour the debt owed to their brothers by sending their 2nd Company while the Carmine Talons have gone above and beyond what Torvald Thunderson requested. Instead of sending a single company, the sons of Sanguinius had sent half of their chapter to aid the Storm Avengers as the Carmine Talons committed their Death Company, 1st Company, 2nd Company, 3rd Company, 4th Company and 10th Company.

Four battle barges, a dozen strike cruisers and nine hundred space marines. Enough to shatter whatever force is invading Forge World Sif and it does just that.

Alas, it isn't just the forces of Baldur and Freya who are invading Forge World Sif. Despite the warnings of the Storm Avengers, Forge World Thor has chosen to join Baldur and Sif, committing themselves to purging Sif of its hereteks. And so the might of three Chapters contends with the might of three Forge Worlds.

The Adeptus Mechanicus fleets are broken as their technological superiority proves inferior to the hard won experience and boarding expertise of the Angels of Death. A Retribution-class Battleship from Baldur is destroyed as are the two Mars-class Battlecruisers sent by Freya as the Adeptus Mechanicus overload the plasma drives of their own warships rather than let them all into the hands of their foes. Yet despite the best efforts of their respective crews, several warships are captured by the Storm Avengers as the boarding parties are able to secure their engines and reactors before the sabotage can be carried out.

Yet the battle isn't entirely in favour of the Space Marines. Of the three forge worlds, Thor does the best as they force one of the Carmine Talon strike cruisers to make an emergency warp jump, cripple the Carmine Falconer and retreat in good order. Meanwhile the destruction of Baldur's battleship also strikes a hefty blow to the Iron Sentinels as their 2nd Company was boarding at the time. Their strike cruiser emerged from the explosion crippled whilst four squads, including Captain Bulvik, were still aboard the battleship when its plasma drives overloaded.

With the void secured, the Angels of Death were able to descend on Sif. The Tech-Guard of Baldur and Freya fought back, but cut off from supplies and reinforcements whilst caught between the Adeptus Astartes and the Adepta Sororita, they can do little apart from die valiantly.

The solo exception is Legio Fulgaran and their supporting formations. Despite offers by the Storm Avengers and their allies to surrender, the God-Machines refuse to stand down. While even the titans can do little to resist the onslaught, Legio Fulgaran is able to dig into part of Sif. Any attempts to rout them out are met with an unyielding defence and even a bid to bring the Might of Storms to bear on them sees the battle barge beaten back by the anti-orbital fire.

Yet even as Legio Fulgaran continues to hold out the invasion of Sif is broken. The fleets and armies of Baldur and Freya have been broken while Thor's fleet has been beaten back.

Even as the task force regroups and rallies at Sif, news arrives from Thor in the form of the Huntress of Heresy along with the 1st and 5th Companies of the Iron Sentinels. In response to the Iron Sentinels and Storm Avengers joining the fight at Sif in force, Forge World Thor attempted to seize the warships under repair of the respective Chapters. Fortunately, both battle barges were saved as their 1st Company successfully saved the Huntress of Heresy while their 5th Company aided the huskarls in their defence of the Ardent Storm.

With their newly arrived reinforcements, the 5th Company of the Iron Sentinels is swiftly folded into their depleted 2nd Company as the captain of 5th Company becomes the replacement for the late Captain Burvik.

Now that Forge World Sif is mostly secured, the task force is left to plot their next move against the forge worlds allied against them.

In the Ymir Sub-Sector, the heretics fight steadfastly as they attempt to hold the line against the Imperial Guard. Perhaps if it was only mortal men and women they had to contend with, the rebels could have held their own. Yet the heretics weren't so fortunate as they faced the Angels of Death in force.

While the hammer of the Imperial Guard systematically shattered the heretical lines, the Storm Avengers and Iron Sentinels cleared the way as the space marines targeted key parts of the rebel defence. Officers were assassinated, ammo depots were detonated and strongholds were broken.

The Ymir Sub-Sector hadn't fully been reclaimed yet, but the years of fighting had seen the backbone of the rebellion shattered. There were still rebel holdouts on multiple worlds and only a handful of planets had been fully reclaimed, but the heretics were scattered and disorganised. While it still required time and effort to eliminate the last of the rebels, the revolt that had lasted decades had finally been defeated for all intents and purposes.

***

Unfortunately for the Asgardia Sector, the rest of it wasn't seeing as much success as the Storm Avengers. While the sons of Guilliman were crushing their foes, other enemies of mankind had struck at different parts of it.

While still smarting from their failed invasion of Freya, the Darcs Coalition sought to try their hand at claiming the technological secrets of mankind once again. Hoping to take advantage of Forge World Odin's weakened state, the xenos send an invasion force to Odin. Several Darc capital ships and thrice that in escort-weight ships had descended upon the forge world. Odin's defenders had held the line so far, but still weary and weak from the recent invasion, it would only be a matter of a few years before the Darcs overwhelmed them.

In other parts of the Asgardia Sector, there have been reports of Chaos Space Marines, twisted battle-sisters calling themselves the Daughters of Celeste. Operating out of a strike cruiser which was tentatively identified as the one the Daughters of Celeste had fled Mjolnir on, these heretical Asartes were striking targets of minor importance across the Asgardia Sector. Despite there being no identifiable pattern to their seemingly irrelevant targets, the general consensus amongst the Storm Avenger leadership is that the Daughters of Celestes are training their new recruits. For all intents and purposes, they seem to be deploying their equivalent of a 10th Company to give their newest members proper combat experience.

Yet the worst news came from the Vanir Sub-Sector, where the sector capital Vanaheim lies. While the capital had been spared the hardships of the Asgardia Sector so far, that had recently come to an end. A pretender to House Reximus had arisen, a foul traitor backed by large parts of the Asgardian aristocracy and, far more concerningly, the Kabal of the Black Reaping.

A cousin of the Lord Sector, Harald Reximus, has claimed Hive World Boer, the other hive world in the Vanir Sub-Sector, as his temporary capital until his attempts to seize Vanaheim see fruit. With the element of surprise and support from both PDF units and house troops, Harald Reximus has been able to secure Boer and is making major headway on most of the other worlds in the Vanir Sub-Sector. The Dark Eldar have only further strengthened his position by paying upon his enemies, striking at the forces loyal to Sigurdr Reximus and sowing chaos and devastation amongst them.

In just a couple of years, Harald Reximus is able to bring half of the sub-sector to heel though he runs the issue that his void assets are limited beyond what the Black Reaping provides him with while his cousin can still call upon Battlefleet Asgardia. That said, the civil war has already begun to inflict significant devastation upon the Vanir Sub-Sector, something that is only guaranteed to happen if things are allowed to get dragged out.

And things will only get worse if Harald Reximus is able to spread his reach beyond the Vanir Sub-Sector and into the wider Asgardia Sector.

So things have gone well for you where you've been involved. The Carmine Talons came through for you by sending half the chapter when you asked for a company whilst Thor barely passed the roll for them to work up the courage to join the fighting. Despite that, you kicked butt at Sif while the fighting at Ymir is finally winding down.

Beyond that, the Darcs are once again attempting to take advantage of AdMech weakness while you get some more Imperial infighting to worry about even as Ymir is mostly dealt with.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.

Uhh I did say we should have left a strike cruisers of 4th Company in the plan phase but hey the situation has dropped again and Odin is being attacked again. And next we blockade Thor cause that is gonna be a bad time for them for awhile.

Did atleast the battleships were protected cause I did say we didn't want another capture battleship again.

Oh yesss, they're the only ones still in this fight fleet wise baldur and freya's fleets got crushed, poor battlecruisers and battleship they didn't deserve to get self-destructed. So dealing with the only threat left fleet-wise would be a priority. but we should also try to raid or blockade the other 2 forge worlds. can't let them recuperate. Also ODIN HELD, idk how they did it but they held this time so the battleships weren't lost ... again.

Yeah but I don't want to Antagonise them too much cause we really need them still just blockade and tell them to stand the fuck down we will give them pardons and after there leaders that tried to steal our ships will get punished and we give them the stcs to them to say no hard feelings cause we are the pragmatic sorts and we don't want fully alienate them.
