Weiss "Memory Lane" Schnee
Airship to Beacon, Vale
Morning(?)
I raise an eyebrow, recognizing that hiccup. Since Penny is like Pinocchio, that means she wasn't being honest. However, which part of her statement was false? Was she aware of the fashion, or did she brainstorm on the name? Or was it both?
However, I can't do anything about it, for I'm not supposed to know that particular quirk right now. I'll have to let it slide. What is she hiding? I'm not sure how being a synthetic with a soul is related to those.
Anyway...
Well, that's true. I may not know of that particular Huntsman, but I can think of similar examples like the weapons of Adam and Pyrrha.
"Okay."
Well then, how about I talk about what I have for a change? Since I'm seated on the bench, I carefully place my blade on my lap and say, "Meanwhile, my weapon is Myrtenaster, my pride and joy. It's a rapier that can carry and conduct my Dust. No, it's not also a gun."
What? I've always wanted to say that last line in some way. Wait, what are these images in my mind?
Late nights spent in front of the computer and the drafting paper. Rough sketches, followed by technical drawings. Calculating exacting measurements, including tolerances. Mathematically drawing the profiles of various parts like the blade, the hilt, and the revolving mechanism. Choosing the most suitable alloys for each component, taking into account factors like strength, hardness, weight, and heat resistance. Checking its weight distribution to ensure that it's perfectly balanced. Running iteration after iteration of simulations, as well as revision after revision of the design.
A workshop, filled with machines and tools, looking well-used yet clean nonetheless. Being accompanied by my sister. Submitting the finalized design to a weaponsmith within. Participating in the forging process, which was not unlike an episode of Man At Arms, though more high-tech. Seeing things happen up close: the cutting of pieces out of sheet metal using a plasma torch, the repeated folding of the steel alloys to purify and strengthen them, the treating of the blade with a Fire Dust-powered furnace using precise temperatures, the machining, drilling and threading of cylindrical components with a lathe, the trimming of excess metal with a grinder, the checking of measured dimensions with a caliper, the etching of markings with an engraver, the polishing of parts with a sand belt, the coating of components against corrosion and the like, the painting of the etched markings, various other steps, and the final assembly of the weapon.
Loading the newly-made sword with Dust, and taking it out for a test run. Executing various maneuvers and attacks with it. A sense of relief, pride and happiness as it performs according to specs. Seeing a small smile on my sister's face.
Woah... that was amazing... definitely a Weiss thing, yet it felt as if I was the one there, as if I saw it all through her eyes, as if I experienced it myself... perhaps Ruby and her aren't so different in some ways...
Oh, and from that memory, did you know that a rapier is actually heavier and tougher than it looks? It's of similar weight as other one-handed swords like Jaune's, and is stiff, not fragile. The loss of weight due to the slender blade is made up for with increased blade length and a heavier hilt, the latter of which would especially apply to mine due to the revolving cylinder. The more I know...

@Shadows,

((The flashback is my interpretation of how Myrtenaster came to be. Revisions to it can be made if necessary.))
