We keep as a GTH (Gone to Hell) solution when talking just isn't an option anymore.

Sort of like what Soujirou and Isaac did to 'convince' the PKers to lay off.
Pretty much. We don't have the population to burn on Commissar Flandre yet, and while they aren't listening, they aren't causing trouble YET.

We give it another go with diplomacy.

Bah, people and their "diplomacy".

Back in Gensokyo we solved disputes by blowing up everyone involved. It worked back then and it'll work now.
We just need to find the right level of firepower.

... Is that why Military has the highest success rating of the three?

I thought it was because she/we could insta-kill anyone, but if its because its what they are used to, or even better both of those, yesh.

Well look at Reimu's normal methodology for incident resolving: Find the person causing the incident and beat them up until they stop. It worked and with the spellcard rules was even non-lethal.

Of course now such a solution is less useful in the long run because the various parties have nowhere to go. While ruling through fear is the easy way it's not one we really want to try unless there's no other choice.

We'll call that plan Reimu, beat everyone up until problem is solved.

Commissar Flandre is awesome... but we should probably only go Commissar mode on our foes. Complete with hats and everything.

Rough plan thoughts for the next two updates is to finish stabilizing our 'kingdom' and then start exploring the area.

We probably want a proper perimeter patrol setup ASAP. It was just weasels this turn (which became soup) but it indicates that the Mansion and surrounding areas are not a 'Safe Zone'.

@Sinsystems
Any chance of tossing these links up somewhere on the first page?

Well fortunately we are not going to have a problem with limited amount of gold at least (whack goblin, get gold). Hopefully the various monsters can drop some more useful crafting materials as well.

Now while I write the update i'll be holding a contest!! Simply put submit ideas for actions and/or events either for now or in the future, the top 3 will gain a one use only reroll.
Don't mind the actual numbers since they're just a shot in the dark

Scarlet Army - Fairy Conscripts
The fairy maid warriors are weak, but effective chaff, capable of just going at it again after getting for target practice or used as bait. However, there just aren't enough of them to do much more than get swatted aside. More of them would make them take longer to swat.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: 100% Reward: 5000 Fairy Conscripts(low discipline fairy maid warriors). Cost: 500(uniform and weapon costs)

Scarlet Army - Fairy Commissars
The fairy conscripts are prone to running off, running away, and running in the wrong direction entirely. You need to motivate them, and burning them to ashes only lasts about as long as the ashes. Maybe if you had some of the idiots set to shoot anyone running in the wrong direction.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: 25% Reward: Fairy Comissars(1 reroll for failed morale checks at the cost of fairy casualties). Cost: 100

Scarlet Army - Recon Element
According to the books in the Library, knowing where your enemy is and who they are is important. Maybe you should try getting some of the youkai with better stealth and senses out there. If you can find them.
Time: 2 turns. Chance of success: 50% Reward: Scouts identified. Cost: 100

Scarlet Army - Red Night
Unsurprisingly, most of the youkai in the mansion are great at sneaking up on their enemies, even while dressed in bright colors and chattering the whole time. You just need to keep them from trying to eat or prank each other while sneaking up as a group. And also from springing the surprise too early.
Time: 4 turns. Chance of success: 70%. Reward: Youkai members of the army suffers no stealth penalties for army size.

Scarlet Army - Nightstalkers
While just about every youkai is great at sneaking about, some are exceptional, like...you forgot who. You leave a note at your tea party under the cookies. The really good sneaks can investigate things with nobody the wiser. And you'll provide the drinks and snacks.
Time: 3 turns. Chance of success: ???(would you even know if it succeeded?). Reward: Spies

Scarlet Army - Morale Ration
The fairies just get demoralized too quickly in an extended battle, many of them giving up after getting shot down only once. You ask Patchy to look up some way to make them REALLY motivated.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: 50%. Reward: Berserker Booze(Raises morale by one step, but will only charge until morale boost wears off) Cost: 200

Scarlet Army - Boss Rush
Sakuya had mentioned that fairies become a lot more enthusiastic when fighting for a powerful youkai. Maybe you should try that.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: 100%/50%(chance of Koishi adding boss-themed fairy costumes without separate action). Reward: Minion Squads for hero units. Fairies gain increased attack and defense when led by hero unit. Fairy Maids gains Boss Affinity(Sakuya). Fairy Vampires gain Boss Affinity(Flandre)

Human Magicians
You have the best magician in Gensokyo living right here. You have the Great Library. You have a lot of humans with nothing to do. Set them to learning magic, if you make Patchy do all the spellcasting she'd probably die.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success 100%. Reward: Magician development program(Chance of magician or priest trained from human population every turn, low chance of human magicians and priests to become youkai), large scale magic use unlocked Cost: 100 per turn

Orchards
Some of the humans and fairies brought seeds along with them, including fruit trees. Planting them in the garden would increase the food supply, without ruining the view.
Time: 3 turns. Chance of success: 90%/50%/30% Reward: Orchards(high roll may skip to the discovery of fairy plant growth enhancement)

Loot Drops
Not all the monsters hunted drop coins. Some of them have weapons or armor as well. Maybe Patchy should take a look.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: ???. Reward: equipment

Interface Menu
The local magic is...pretty strange. It seems by concentrating on your forehead(you still wonder how that fairy discovered something so inane), images and words appear. You set some of the scribes to investigating this.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: ???. Reward: Access to game menus and information

Classes and Subclasses(requires Interface Menu)
Some of the fairy maids and human magicians have discovered that they have a 'class' or 'subclass', and magic unique to that. Interesting, you've looked and you only have a 'race' yourself. Maybe you should get one of those.
Time: 1 turn. Chance of success: ???. Reward: Knowledge of some base classes and several subclasses.

So I got a little carried away...

Here a couple more.

Natives?
(OOC based on hidden roll whenever scouting/hunting/expedition etc parties are sent out since they aren't really looking for a village)
Some of the hunting parties found signs of civilization other then the broken ruins and monster dens they've been constantly running into. What's more it looks like humans are living there. Best to send some people to check before doing anything else.
Time: 1 turns. Chance of success: 85% Reward: Unknown village scouted and observer not spotted.

We come in Peace (Requires successful Natives?)
Well it's definately a occupied village and not by creatures that want to kill us. Just humans and a scattering of some sort of demi-Youkai. Best send a party to investigate and make contact (Bring some gold too, universal language and all that).
Time: 2 turns. Cost: 200 Chance of success: 75% Reward: Peaceful contact with ??? Village, unlocks Lander diplomacy actions.

Okay finally got my motivation working!! As an apology i'll give you guys a reward of your choice, choose one!! I'll be calling the vote once I start on the fluff text.

  • A Dream of Hidden Power
  • A Dream of Unknown Strength
  • A Dream of Wild Wisdom

I wonder how long it will take for someone to figure out what those options are. Still none of the options are bad and mostly they're just hints towards something really good.

...if I'm reading this right, all three of them are references to Onis.

Hidden Power - Suika (Immaterial and Hidden Power)
Unknown Strength - Yuugi (Has one of the vaguest powers, manipulation of the Supernatural)
Wild Wisdom - Kasen (Wild and Horned Hermit)

Damn I jumped the gun on the added bonus, no matter yes that is correct and as the bonus I'll tell you that the dream is hinting to their current locations.

[X] A dream of Hidden Power

I'm in agreement here. Yuugi's power is a wildcard, though she's most likely the strongest of the three Onis... but we got Flandre, so, despite her being my fav of the three... Kasen's talking to animals about as useful as Suika's Density ability, so it's really a coinflip here.
