I know we're not trying to fight them. That's why I voted to be diplomatic.

I was simply wondering if it would be possible to use torture to make a point. If anyone decides to view this as a particularly interesting raid or something, we use torture to make a point.

"This is real. This is not a game. I am being dead serious."

Nah I feel like if we have to hurt someone to be 'Dead Serious' we've failed. The most threatening and scary foes need no violence, need no overt action to show their danger. They simply have that aura of SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Flandre probably has that aura too.

Alright. Just putting it out there.

What else would we do then? Beat the ever loving crap out of them and toss them out?

Why would we need to in the first place?

What reason do we have to be hostile? Yes they popped Lilly White a couple of times and a few other fairies. Compared to the mayhem that occurs during Incident resolving what happened was a friendly hello.
Especially since the fact that even (and only) fairies have died thus far can probably be blamed on how fairies normally behave.

The hobgoblin butlers all ran away when the Adventurers busted in. The fairies swarmed the exciting new things like they always do, because they're immortal and brush off death without a care.

AS A LAST RESORT.

Maybe you're not meaning to suggest that such things should be the first resort, but you should realize that it is what you are saying by virtue of how you are expressing yourself.

For Adventurers? Loss of quests, loot and services they can't get without making nice.
Poor, poor, overworked Patchouli.

She's already got too many things to investigate and enact. If she has to start providing services to outsiders, she's going to have a fit.

But at least she can wring some use out of them by sending them on quests for the things she needs. And she might be quite interested at the stunts that Shiroe can pull.

Delegation to the Little Library Devils. It's what they're there for.

And if by Shiroe's stunts you mean the magic he uses, she might be somewhat dismissive of adventurers. She learned all her magic the hard/proper way while the adventurers just got it downloaded into their brains and use it without knowing the how or why of magic etc.

And yet, her ability to do what Flandre needs done is still limited. If she's already relying on the Little Devils, then sparing some of them to deal with the Adventurers is still going to reduce her ability to get stuff done.

I meant his trick of turning Landers into Adventurers. Or giving the land back to the world.

Even if he's only using tools and rules, well, isn't that fundamentally what all magic comes down to?

Question: What good do you think aggression is going to do?

You can't intimidate Crusty, because he's IMMORTAL. Sure, Flandre could Wipe the whole five-man party by herself... this time. But the Adventurers are like fairies -- they don't stay dead, and there are SWARMS of them. Except unlike fairies, Adventurers are strong and focused.

Eventually, there will be party after party of Adventurers gunning to "clear" the dungeon that even Berserker Crusty couldn't beat. Or Crusty will decide that this was actually a RAID dungeon, and bury the place in DDD's top players. Over, and over, and over again --- each defeat simply proving that there must be some kind of awesome reward for killing the Scarlet Devil.

Meanwhile, the Scarlet Devil Mansion can't replenish its numbers. The humans will stay dead, and the youkai resistance to permanent death (recall that they generally have to be sealed) may not work right in Seldelsha. Even if it does, youkai probably take much longer to resurrect than fairies and Adventurers.

The Gensokyo humans will also abandon the mansion to go join human settlements which AREN'T ruled by youkai or constantly under attack by "youkai exterminator fairies from Hell".

If you can't intimidate Crusty, maybe you assume by being aggressive you can shame him into peacefulness?

Shame Crusty? The Berserker who openly lusts for blood? The Glasses Villain Youkai who mercilessly teases Renessia for fun and profit? The Crusty that religiously played an MMO in a culture that looks askance at anyone with such an insular hobby? You mean to shame THAT Crusty?

Moreover, what does he have to be ashamed about? He's just raiding a Dungeon, fighting programmed monsters. He's doing the world a righteous service by invading a vampire's home, killing everything he sees, and making off with the loot.

Don't antagonize the Adventurers. It will doom the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

Flandre needs to make friends with them.
meh i just felt that we are justified and since i dont know alot about tohou this is how i see any reasonable being reacting when not at a position of weakness (before you say it the residents of the SDM dont know about adventurers respawning)

A friendly tea party after a fight at the door is in fact, normal behaviour for Touhou.

Nobody died but a bunch of excitable fairies, who aren't bothered at all and probably forgot within the hour.

"Tea party" is the meme, but it can also be a sake party.

In which case Veekie is still right, and the rare cases become considerably less rare when fighting an oni.

[x] Diplomatic, be polite like big sister and try to figure out who they are and why they're here.

[x] Patchouli
[x] Meiling

[x]Tea and cakes.

Don't worry i'm really slow at updating especially when my area is suffering power cuts.
Well, if browsing quests and fanfiction helped me with something valuable, that would be patience. I'd be glad to see the update the day it comes, so no worries on my side. Just missed the thread before and decided to throw a vote for good measure.

Huh, never noticed this existed.

Will write something when I finish reading it.

So, has ANYONE thought of a good reason for Koishi to attend?
We can't really control Koishi at the moment (and it's only meta-knowledge that we know who's 'haunting' us). For all we know she may show up anyway based on Sinsystems dice rolls and IC we'll never know the difference.

Besides unless she disengages her ability in the middle of the tea party, he won't really be able to meaningfully interact as no-one will know she's there.

Given that she was listed as a choice at all, Koishi may appear whenever Flandre subconsciously wants her to be present.

If we don't pick her, Flandre does not subconsciously want Koishi present for the meeting, which Koishi (consciously or unconsciously) respects.
