"I-I think we've done enough!" you call out to Weiss as you regroup with her, "I-It won't be flying anytime soon."
"Alright." Weiss replies, "Let's get out of here before it recovers."
"D-Do you think it'll chase us?" you question as the two of you depart.
"I seriously doubt it would be able to keep pace with us on the ground in the middle of a forest. We should be fine."

It turns out that a very angry Nevermore can, in fact, keep pace with a pair of humans on the ground in the middle of a forest...
It was the sound of trees being pushed aside that gave it away, and as soon as you saw the oversized avian barrelling towards the two of you, you immediately decided to pick up the pace. You aim back to take a few potshots at it, only for your weapons to click after a couple pulls of the trigger. As you reload, you send a couple of familiars back to harass the Nevermore as the two of you continue your retreat. Eventually you spot a dense cluster of trees, and, after exchanging a brief period of eye contact with your partner, make a break for it. The sounds of a loud thump and the Grimm shrieking behind you is your first indication that your tactic had ended up blocking your enemy's advance for now.
A minute later the two of you enter a large clearing. As you pause to catch your breath you notice an old looking temple up ahead.
"I-Is... this it...?" you pant.
"Hopefully..." Weiss answers.
"HI BEACON BUDDY!" a familiar voice draws your attention to a small group of people standing in front of the temple. You immediately recognize Coral, who is waving to you enthusiastically. As you wave back, you also spot Melinda in the group, as well as...

I want to be on a team with Weiss as the only non-Faunus, but all the Faunus kind of hiding it to some degree and/or trying to not make a big deal of things. Then putting Yang with Melinda because I think they'll get on a bit better than Mel and Ruby, and I don't wanna split Renora.

Not as much deliberation as I was expecting. Since this is a weighty decision I'll be extending the vote by another day.
Since it doesn't seem like anyone has noticed my previous patch of invisitext, I suppose I could get away with leaking one detail: You are not guaranteed to end up with Coral or Melinda, but your choice here will influence the odds of getting into the same team with at least one of them. That's all I'm willing to say for now.

There was invisitext? I would not be able to see it on a mobile device anyway. Not like there is enough information in there for me to choose one way or another.
I recommend declaring everything clearly if you want a proper discussion of this significant choice.

Invisitext should be used with purpose. In this case, it unfortunately only served to potentially withhold valuable info for no real reason. Readers (is that the right term for us?) could be annoyed by that, and with justification.
Still, I don't see this as something huge. People make mistakes. I still look forward to how this quest goes.
You do talk about how this vote will 'affects the odds'. It does sound vague. I imagine some readers may not be pleased if the remainder of our choice in team members is left up to chance, unlike our (heated) choice in Weiss as a partner. It just seems kinda, umm, roundabout and unclear? Though, that depends on how it actually works. I think it may also be causing hesitation in some lurkers to voting, though that's just speculation on my part. I know a bunch of people voted in the partner vote, but I'm not sure if those people are gone or if they voted just for that important one.

As for the invis-text, meh. I don't read that crap, and authors who aren't fine with votes that don't take invisible text into consideration are a bit funny to me.

//To be fair, there was a purpose for it, though looking back only the last part of the first section of invisitext (which I did not highlight as I feel it is no longer relevant due to the intention behind it failing miserably) should've been invisible. I was originally intending to reveal the details as a reward for something, but I will not disclose what this something was due to feeling that given the current circumstances the playerbase won't react well to it, and I'd rather people stay with this quest than leave :sweatdrop:.

Now this is important information. This should mean that we do not have full control on who is on our team. Based on this and the comments made in some of the votes I feel that the vote should be reset.
