-[X] We're being graded, part of our job as Hunters will be killing Grimm like this, and knowing what we do about the rest of the initiates, it's likely that someone else will wake it if we don't. At least this way, we have the initiative, and it will be much easier to deal with if it's grounded.

//Sorry for the delay. College started up again so things are slightly hectic at the moment.

//For that addon/justification I will award you a +10 bonus to this roll.
[35+10 = 45 > 40 Success!]
"I-I'm sorry, but... er... if we don't do something about it now, t-then someone else might stumble upon it and wake it up... Plus we don't know if we're being watched at all... I-If we are, they might dock our grade if we just ignore this threat..."
You hear Weiss sigh, "Fine... What do you propose we do, then?"
"Erm... How accurate are you with uh... Ice Dust?"
"I'm pretty sure I can hit a large, immobile target at this range..."
"R-Right... um... A-Anyway, I'm thinking that if we freeze one of its wings, and then hit it hard enough, maybe we can cripple it... I-It should be easier to deal with if it can't fly, right?"
"I suppose it would be. I assume you're going to be the one to hit it then?"
"Y-Yeah, of course..."
After a moment of strategizing, the two of you take up positions at the edge of the nest. You ready your weapons and steel your nerves for what's about to come. Glancing at Weiss, you give a nod, before she aims her rapier towards the Nevermore and activates her semblance as you jump off towards your opponent. You'd have a narrow margin to hit the wing after Weiss freezes it in order for this to work.
Unfortunately, the Nevermore chooses that exact moment to shift in its sleep, causing the nest to shake. Your eyes widen in horror as Weiss ends up missing her mark by a few feet.
You quickly shake the feeling out of you and take a deep breath as you continue your descent. Your blades are still using Ice Dust, so you should have a second chance in theory... Holding your weapons out in front of you, you brace for impact as the Nevermore begins to stir.
Your blades stab deep into the Nevermore's right wing, causing the area immediately around them to freeze, but it's unfortunately not enough to shatter any part of the wing itself. In fact, it appears that your swords are now stuck in the wing thanks to the partial freezing.
The Grimm immediately shrieks in pain and attempts to lift off with you still holding onto the wing by your blades. Its flight is erratic, and it soon begins falling sideways towards the ground.
[] Try to pull your blades out of the wing and jump to safety (Very Risky)
[] Summon a couple of familiars and attempt to blast your frozen blades free of the wing. (Risky)
[] Let go of your weapons and jump away, you can retrieve them later.
[X] Summon a couple of familiars and attempt to blast your frozen blades free of the wing. (Risky)
-[X] Also unload your magazines into the wing. Every bit helps.

How do you feel about write ins? Because they can barely match a beowulf 1 on 1.
[] Summon at least 10 familiars and attempt to blast your frozen blades free of the wing.

[Q]Stay calm. This was totally the plan all along.
-[Q]Ride that nevermore all way to the ruins
--[Q]W-weiss! Hop on! The stations of canon call!
Now I'm wishing we'd tried to scout with the familiars earlier. Might've been able to buoy ourselves so we don't hit the ground so hard while also trying to free the blades.

[6 - Failed.]
You summon a pair of familiars to blast away at the ice encasing your blades. It takes them a few shots, but you quickly feel the ice cracking and your weapons slipping free.
Unfortunately, by the time you're able to pull them out, you've left yourself with no time to jump away, and find yourself slamming into the bottom of the nest with the Nevermore landing right on top of you. You feel a significant loss of aura from the impact.
The Nevermore recovers and, with an enraged shriek, prepares to slam one of its talons down on top of you, only for a fireball to pelt the Grimm in the face. As it switches its attention to Weiss, you quickly roll back on your feet, sizing up the situation.
[] Regroup with Weiss, come up with a new plan together.
[] Run up its back while Weiss has it distracted, try to strike at its neck if possible.
[] Attack the wing again. You're not sure if your initial attack was enough to cripple it.
-[] Ranged (Lowest potential damage, but safest option.)
-[] Ranged, with Familiar spam.
-[] Melee (Higher chance of fully crippling the wing, but risky.)
-[] Melee, with Familiar spam. (Highest chance of fully crippling the wing, but very risky.)
[] Engage at range. Don't aim for a specific target.
-[] With your weapons only.
-[] With Familiar spam.
//They cost aura to summon, therefore making you squishier in the long run. Plus the Nevermore will probably focus on what it sees as the greater threat
But familiars is our meat(aura)bags, they cost aura, yes, but they can take hit for us, especially if the Nevermore behave us you says.

You fire upon the Nevermore's injured wing with your hand cannons while summoning a group of several familiars. Unfortunately, the Grimm spreads its wings wide and attempts to take off again. The resulting draft produced by its initial flap throws off your aim a bit, causing a portion of your shots to miss their mark.
Your familiars attack the Nevermore as it rises, focusing fire on the injured wing. However, while they are hurting it, the nature of their attacks seems to be inefficient at crippling the wing further.
However, before the avian Grimm can get too far, Weiss launches a wave of Ice Dust at it. It soon makes contact with its injured wing, causing a large portion of it to freeze solid. As the Nevermore begins to plummet, your familiars opportunistically aim at the patch of ice, which begins to crack as their dark bolts shear through it.
Soon, gravity does the rest of the work, shattering the frozen part of the Nevermore's wing to pieces as it crashes into the side of the nest. Dazed from the blow, it slowly attempts to get up.
[] Retreat. The two of you have crippled it, as intended. It's much less of a threat now.
[] Try to finish it off.

While we do have most of our Aura left still, crippling it was our goal here, and we did just that. No need to push our luck. And if it does try to chase us, between Weiss' glyphs and our familiars', taking it down at range will be much easier and safer than up close.
