Red Soul: Back to the Future

guys we barely met Quelaag we have no idea of know how intact her mind was for all we know those final moments were her only lucid ones. Doubtful but it could be true.

o_O I have no idea where you got that from Quelaag is insane; extremely desperate but ultimately still sane. Both the game and this quest confirmed it from dialogue and Quelaag's actions in this quest.
Your not getting my point. The vote for her saying mind remained unchanged and intact is something we simply do not know. For all we know Quelaags action might have been completely unthinkable to her previous self perhaps the were completely in character. Again we also don't know what she has been doing to get those souls now do we. We simply don't have the information to say that furthermore It makes it come off as if we know far more about the sisters then we really do. We no almost nothing about them truthfully who are we to make Any kind of judgment on how there transformations changed them.

"She seemed to have retained her faculties to me." Is a perfectly legitimate thing to say about Quelagg, but not for Quelaan because she obviously wasn't all there the poor thing.

[X] "I met them both. Their bodies were changed, yes, but their minds were still intact."
-[X] Continue to tell her the truth, about what happened to her sisters after they were changed, how you were sent by Oktavia to help, how you met them and how Quelaan is now all alone, blind, helpless and unknowing of Quelaag's fate because you couldn't bring yourself to tell her about what happened to Quelaag and destroy the last bit of happiness she had left.

Uh, Kyoko knows perfectly well where Quelaag was getting the Humanity. Eingyi even tells her. Not to mention having your beloved sister dying in front of you kinda makes you do drastic things, Kyoko can attest to that.

Also we've met freaking Quelaan and can say without a shadow of a doubt that Quelaag wasn't a demon which is the main issue here. She was also running the Chaos Servants Covenant so she obviously has all of her mental facilities.
... That's not the point I am... You know never mind I am obviously failing to get my point across to multiple people so the error is probably on my end. Forget it.

Edit IF THIS DAMN LAG

You lean away from her near-invasion of her personal space.

You tell her everything. You tell her that their lower bodies were changed into spiders, but they're still human above the waist. You tell her how Oktavia asked you to help.

You tell her that Quelaag died less than a day ago, and that Ornstein killed her. You tell her why- she was killing people, and having her follows kill, to gather Humanity as medicine for Quelaan. You tell her how her sister is blind, immobile, and not entirely there, mentally, and how you couldn't tell her that Quelaag was dead.

The woman in robes watches you, motionless and without speaking, though the entire explanation. When you finish, she still doesn't react. She slowly rocks side to side on her feet, but makes no other motion. You can't even tell if she's breathing under her robes.

[???]

You don't say anything. You wait for her to finish processing what you told her.

She finally moves to lean against the pillar, and slowly sinks against it.

"A thousand years...they are alive...all this time..." She looks up, staring past you into space. You glance in that direction, but she's clearly not looking at anything in particular.

"That nest. It is theirs?"

You get the impression she isn't really asking you, but you nod anyway. "Yeah. They got, um, they got fused to some giant spiders, but...yeah."

"And now Quelaag is dead and Quelaan is nearly dead as well."

"Yes."

She doesn't say anything after that. She sinks further to the ground, until she's staring into space again.

[] Are...are you going to go see her?

[] Well, are you gonna just sit there?

[] I can show you the way, if you want.

[] Go back to Oscar.

[] Off into the swamp.

[] Stay with her, say nothing.

[] Write-in

Right word of warning 'cause this was so short I'm gonna bang out one more update tonight, vote closes in 40 minutes

You wait patiently, or at east as patiently as you are capable of. You know that this is a lot to take in. Fuck, this kinda happened to you last night, only this is actually real.

Still, she just sits there in the circle of dried mud, staring into spa-

"A thousand years," she says again. "A thousand years since I ran from Izalith and left my family and people to be warped by the Bed of Chaos. The ones that died were the lucky ones. I fled, and through my cowardice survived. A dozen human lifetimes, I thought my sisters were dead, or worse, and I never tried to discover their true fates."

Her hood slowly turns to face the mass of spidersilk and giant branches. "All along, they've been living here, and all I had to do was..."

She trails off. It's clear she's not talkin to you; she seems to have forgotten you're even there.

"...How long has my sister suffered, because of my recreance. How can I face her? How can I tell her Quelaag is dead, when I've been dead far longer..."

[???]

[x] I think Quelaan would just be too happy to have one of her sisters back.
[x] And this is less of topic than it seems, but do your sisters have the same sort of soul as Alvina?
