An attempt at a Joining Battle Stunt, to make up for that terrible roll.
Ravana moved through the jungle like the wind. The trees flowed around him like water around a fish, like air around a bird. He flowed through things with the buzz and ease of... cocaine through him, really.
'This would be so much more fun if I was high...'
'Oh, shut up you child,' Surpanakha told him.
He flowed around the edge of the Warstrider and its entourage. They were all looking the wrong way, their sensors all but useless. The Warstrider's main guns were all pointed completely away from him. Two of the escorting mecha were close enough for him to hit. He let his power flow out, new limbs erupting from his own machine, tipped with snarling, snapping mouths and hands with claws.
"You little cockroaches wanna play rough? Ok, I'm reloaded!' he shouted as he lept.
A sun-hot blast of lasers torched the first mecha, the targeted blast causing the coolant lines below the cockpit to explode, and not coincidentally set off the ejection charges. The first pilot soared out of the fight whether he wanted to or not. Ravana didn't look. Three of his fists were pummeling the next mecha while three more of his arms held it helpless. Another hand reached in to grasp the cockpit and tear it whole out of the mecha, tossing it in a long arc towards the city. Not the most comfortable landing, but the pilot would live.
The remaining escort sluggishly reacted to the ambush, trying to bring their weapons to bear. Ravana was already slipping into the jungle again.
"You cannot win, puny mortals! I AM THE OVERMAN!" Ravana howled triumphantly as he flexed his many limbs, readying the next assault.
So, while we wait for desperate, last minute stunts, roll for damage:
Roll 22d10E7
Roll 19d10E7
Roll 17d10E7
Roll 16d10E7 twice
Roll 15d10E7 three times
Roll 13d10E7 twice
Roll 12d10E7 twice
Now, that's a two die stunt sooo roll 2d10x7
Also, current tick order:
Tick One: Janaka Videha uses Swallows Defend the Nest and shoots you twice with a Heavy Particle Lance
Tick Two: Ravana
Tick Three: Entourage opens fire on you.
Tick Seven: Janaka Videha
Tick Twenty: Pulsar finishes cooldown sequence and is usable again.
If you turn that into a non-botch you instantly shoot up to Tick Five, though I guess theoretically you could boost to Tick Two with a really good roll.
Also, your Pulsar overheated catastrophically due to that botch, so it's not usable until Tick 20.
Last vote before the update: Accept incoming holo-call from the Arjun?
[ ] Yes (1.3X Please pick this)
[ ] No (.8X I hate you. Personally.)
And here, have a stunt for terrifying the innocent bystanders invading mercenaries. A proper one this time, not something that I forget to finish and gets posted anyway.
Ravana is still upset, but he does admit that sneaking up an a whole squadron of warmechs is kind of fun.
"A little closer, then open fire."
He's right behind them. He sidles forward, the forest's natural movements masking his own. Then he falls flat on his face.
He can feel Surpanakha groan, and her thwarted urge to facepalm is palpable.
"Okay, we can salvage this. Act as if you've been injured, and wait for the Warstrider to approach so it can finish you off."
Ravana considers it. But he's always been rather fullsure of himself, and his Exaltation only increased that, really. These mooks would DARE impede him?
The Chola mech squadron is treated to an incredibly hammy chuckle, as the prone VARG begins to laugh with it's many mouths. Around the mech, Ravana's soul bursts into light, six enormous arms erupt from the Akbar, trailing Anima as they form, and the laugh escalates into a roar.
Somehow, one of the Chola pilots' digestive regulator fails, causing intense but nearly forgotten embarrassment.
Prince Videha's platoon stalks through the jungle, wary of ambush. The bulk of the platoon consists of six Saraths piloted by Videha soldiers sent to guard their Prince. They lag behind their charge, sweeping the jungle behind him for ambushers. Prince Videha himself pilots the ARJUN, a titan among the Saraths. The warstrider is eighteen meters tall and wields a heavy particle lance like a toy. Its chassis is largely white jade-steel, its massive pauldrons and feet trimmed with red. A crest of orichalcum rests atop its forehead, blue jade-steel vambrace are clamped onto its outer forearms, and the central torso is pure jade, a red jade central torso whose upper half is covered by a massive array of sloping Blue-Jade armor with an emitter-lens in its center.
The dense jungle is silent - eerily so. The usual sounds of the bush; the hooting of monkeys, the calling of birds, are missing. The animals have deserted the area en masse, fearful of some greater predator, leaving only an unsettling quiet blanketing the vibrant forest. The heat and humidity are stifling in the still air, and a hush hangs around all but the moving war machines.
Then a plasma bolt shears Sergeant Singh's particle lance off at the grip.
The shots come from everywhere. They come from nowhere. One moment the jungle is still and silent around them, the next a hail of pulsar rounds rips into the strike team. A Sarath's missile pods cook off explosively as two pulses of plasma breach the magazine. Another finds its particle lance and blasters shorn off at the barrel by impossibly precise shots; beyond even a dedicated targeting system's ability. Hands, grips, barrels; the wild strafing barely ruffles a leaf of the dense trees it's firing through, yet none of the blasts are out by more than a metre. One pilot ejects in a panic, three more follow her as warning-sirens flashed and weapons detonated.
Then, with a keening whine and the muted thuds of radiator flaps opening, it stops. A VARG, blue and fleshy, stands behind the devastated entourage. One arm, topped by a spinning-down rotary cannon, is levelled at them. Heat visibly radiates off of its frame. Radiator panels have blown all the way up its arm and several heatsinks rise from its back, glowing red and scorching nearby vegetation due to mere proximity.
The VARG's mouth opens, revealing a fanged maw, and it swears loudly.
*
"Think of it this way, it didn't explode."
"Shut up."
Hazard sirens blare at Ravana from the Rotary Cannons status screen and he can feel the heat radiating off of the thing. Heat gauges for the entire flank of the VARG climb steadily as automated systems try and fail to dump heat faster than it builds. Fucking prototypes.
He glimpses the ARJUN through the trees. A flash of movement, white and blue and red accompanied by the taste of something he doesn't recognize.
"Dragon."
That'd explain it.
He dodges, kicking off a tree and into the air moments before a lance of light and force, easily half as thick as his VARG, burns through the forest where he stood. He lands in a river, water flash-boiling around his VARG as he sinks into the water.
The VARG registers a holocall request from one "Janaka Videha". Ravana furrows his brow but ignores it for a moment.
He kicks off the riverbed, soaring into the air, and slams his thrusters, throwing his mech to the side in a burst of neck-breaking acceleration. His vision starts to shift red for a moment as another lance burns through the air where he hung a moment ago. Trees, shorn in half by the blast, collapse as Ravana soars away.
"Heavy particle lance. Like yours, probably used magic for the second shot. It'll be recharging for a while now."
With a thought, he accepts the call. A holo-screen appears on one of the cockpit walls, depicting the downright cavernous cockpit of what he assumes is the ARJUN. You could fit passengers in there, plural, and comfortably at that and the thing has a truly improbable amount of Jade and Jadesteel built into it. The pilot's a young dragon-blood, visibly well-bred. Ravana's pretty sure that he's Wood-Caste, judging by the green scales, but can't quite say for sure. He's handsome, youthful, maybe a little on the boyish side and probably about twenty one. Indrajit's age. He wears an ornate pilot's suit, green and gilded with gold, and a symbol of office on his breast marking him as a high-up noble of some sort. He's visibly disgusted by your appearance but suppresses it quickly.
The ARJUN emerges from the woods, flanked by the remaining members of its entourage. It's holding a heavy particle lance in one hand, like a toy pistol, and a ridiculously oversized disruptor blade in the other. It raises its disruptor blade in a half-salute.
"Well fought. You're an honourable foe," says Janaka, "You're trying your best not to kill, even if you don't always succeed, and you gave my men a chance to eject. Now I'm offering the same to you. Punch out, and I'll spare you. You have my word that we're not here to harm the civilians."
Respond to Janaka
[ ] "Literally go fuck yourself." (1.2x)

[ ] Write-In
So the ARJUN is structure scale which means that combat with it works differently. It's broken up into sections, and whenever you target it you pick a section to target. In addition to normal size bonuses, there are bonuses based on the number of adjacent sections.
In addition, some structures have sectional shielding but we'll cross that pointlessly complex hill when we get to it.
The ARJUN Has:
One Body Section (Size 10. +5 autosuccess to target. -3 post-soak damage with weapons that aren't the particle lance. May scatter and hit another limb.)
Two Arms (Size 6. +1 damage with all weapons. May scatter and hit torso)
Two Legs (Size 7. +2 autosuccesses to target. May scatter and hit torso or the other leg)
Tick One: Janaka Videha uses Swallows Defend the Nest and Red-Hot Demolition Round to shoot you twice with a Heavy Particle Lance. Misses on both.
Tick Two: Ravana
Tick Three: Entourage opens fire on you.
Tick Seven: Janaka Videha
Tick Thirteen: Janaka's Particle Lance is usable again
Tick Twenty: Pulsar finishes cooldown sequence and is usable again.
7 Vijayanta class mechs destroyed
36 Sarath class mechs destroyed
40 pilots ejected safely
3 Pilots KIA
KIA:
Sergeant Nitasha Patel. Age: 21 Cause of Death: Bite wounds
Sergeant Ram Srivastava. Age: 18 Cause of Death: Disruptor field exposure
Lieutenant Daxa Das. Age: 29 Cause of Death: Particle lance discharge
Engaged Hostiles: 2 Saraths (One has lost Light Particle Lance and Twin-Linked Vehicular blasters, the other has a damaged missile pod.)
ARJUN (Undamaged)
4 Personal Motes Spent, 3 Personal Motes Committed, 1 WP Spent, 1 Compassion Channel Spent. Shield damaged. Rotary Pulsar venting heat, useless until Tick 20. Heat compensation systems overburdened, all energy weapons require an additional 3 ticks after use to vent heat until Tick 25. Further botches may have...unpleasant consequences.
