Couldn't we flurry? We do have at least one spare arm from Many-Armed Wrathful Deva Method.

You are doing a two-hit flurry under the Punch and Sword options. You can choose one punch per Entourage member if you want, just write it in.

Ugh, co-ordinated attacks are nasty. IIRC, you suffer a DV penalty equal to the number of people attacking you at once - against all their attacks.

And Onslaught penalties stack between them as well, IIRC. I do need to actually go double-check that, though.

Nope. They reset between attackers, as normal (rules are on page 144).
Also, the penalty isn't "the number of attackers", it's "the number of threshold successes, up to the number of attackers". It's safe to assume the penalty is going to be maxed out (which looks to be -3?), though.

Table on 147 says that it stacks during coordinated attacks. Not sure which supercedes. @EarthScorpion, @Jon Chung, mechanical advice?

My guess as to the intent is that there's sloppy editing on the table. That is to say, I suspect they conflated Onslaught Penalty with Co-Ordinated Attack Penalty, somehow, or did at some point, and relics remain.

The table says that Onslaught Penalty (-1 per successful attack) applies "only against a single attacker, unless a group makes a coordinated attack". Directly above, though, the description of Onslaught Penalties specifies "the same opponent", and "Onslaught penalties apply only when defending against the character that imposed them". It makes no mention of coordinated attacks, except that "Coordinated attacks are another matter entirely." Similarly, the "coordinated attacks" section a few pages earlier makes no mention of Onslaught.

Additionally, the table is directly mistaken in another way - it refers to Onslaught Penalties as being applied only by successful attacks, which is in direct contravention of the letter and spirit of the rules described in full above.

In conclusion, a Coordinated Attack inflicts a penalty of (lower of rolled Command successes or number of attackers) on the target's DV for every attack - it does not interact with Onslaught Penalties. An Onslaught Penalty still might be applied, as there is nothing preventing a character engaging in a Coordinated Attack from flurrying, but that's a separate matter and limited to each individual attacker.

Mind, this is all 2e combat so who gives a shit, I'd rather make Flurry the opposite of Fierce Blow so it's a bonus to hit but you do less damage (or inflict more of a DV penalty but suffer more of a one in return, whatever).

[X] Hit the entourage
Write-In [X] Clinch one, throw them at the other.

beat a motherfucker with another motherfucker lets do this.

[x]So, poncy-boy doesn't like that Ravana broke his little toy and called him on his bullshit. He's not enough of a man to face the OVERMAN head-on, so he's calling in the mooks for some sort of a weak little dragonborn "maybe if we hit him all at once, we can actually hit him" thing.

Heh. As if. Ravana smiles. He smiles all over, from smug little smirks, to enormous, hungry salivating maws of joy. He pickes him moment and then lashes out. the arms on the right tear into mech-mook #1, stripping his legs clean off, while the arm on the left does bad, bad things to mech-mook #2.

"No, no little plank-spawn. Let's not involve the peanut gallery. *You're* the one they spent all the money on, after all. Come on. You and me. Mano a mano." He brings up his arms, which sprout masses of razor teeth. "I bet my hands win this one."

/**************/

because we really ought not let these things go unstunted.

Thanks Revlid!

Now, with Coordinated attacks figured out and I think all outstanding questions answered, the vote currently stands at:

1 for Ramming the Entourage at Speed 2 (1x)

1 for Clinching an Entourage Member and using Break Hold to throw them at the other Entourage member (1x)

1 for punching the intact Entourage member to force an ejection (1.2x)

and 1 for punching the ARJUN in the face (1.1x)

It'd be nice if I could get some more voting in before actually deciding this, especially as people are, in fact, stunting and stuff.

@Sirrocco: 2 dice, I assume that's a vote for punching Entourage members?

yep. That's for swinging at the entourage members - once each.
probably want to throw some Theion excellency in tehre, too. If you won't use Theion Excellency for putting obviously inferior members of the opposition in their proper place (terrified and fawning at your feet) then when *will* you use it?

Honestly, I'd be willing to vote for the "throw a guy into another guy" plan, if someone with rules knowledge could confirm that it was actually likely to work in a useful way, but I'd want to see a stunt for it first, and that's not the stunt I was able to write.

It's rules-valid (Or at least I think it is. Clinch then Release to throw one dude at the other), but isn't likely to do that much damage to either. It will make both check for knockback, which would ruin the co-ordinated attack this turn.

You could do a better version with a certain Infernal Monster Charm but you don't have that yet.

Huh, I thought there'd be more votes.

[X] Hit the entourage
->[X] Punch the intact one to force an ejection. (1.2x, 18d10X7 and 18d10X7 to hit. Can add up to ten dice with First Theion Excellency. Increases Physique bonus from Infernal Monster Style to +2, gives you the first arm from Many-Armed Wrathful Deva Method. Speed 4)

A coordinated attack from two opponents sounds less scary than one from three, and this vote has a stunt ready to go.

Sweet, so, 3 die stunt for the punching, 2 die stunt for the socialing.

Base 21d10X7+2 autosuccesses and 21d10X7+2 autosuccesses for the punching, autosux are due to size differences
Declare Charm Use:
[ ] 5 motes on both attacks (10 motes total, both attacks go to 26d10X7+2)
[ ] Blue Nova Coronal Eruption on one (3 motes, +2 autosux on first hit)
[ ] Blue Nova Coronal Eruption on both (6 motes, +2 autosux on both hits)
[ ] No Charm Use, they're mooks (1.1x)
[ ] Write-In

Base 10d10X7 for the taunting
Declare Charm Use:
[ ] Excellency for 8
[ ] Excellency for 6
[ ] Excellency for 4
[ ] No Excellency

Pick One:
[ ] Regen 6 motes
[ ] Regen 1 WP

[X] No Charm Use, they're mooks (1.1x)
[X] No Excellency
[X] Regen 6 motes

I'll wait on rolling, given my luck lately. :/

Uuuh, I'll double-check.

Someone roll 10d10X7 for social and I'm going to save everyone a lot of trouble and rework the system to move faster in between-update decision making for future updates.

I rolled what's in the post, but isn't one of them supposed to be a +3?

The 3 die stunt was added to both because otherwise shit would get super unwieldy, so it's already factored in. Both appear to have the correct number of autosux.

Anyways, I rolled damage in the name of time. One ejection, one's still around. Thanks to Earthscorpion's roll, you have spectacularly pissed off Janaka Videha.

Update is being written now, next few updates are breaking the music references theme-names for Janaka Videha's theme-names.

Look, it's not our fault he has wood for his family members.

It's not our fault that he's more inbred than a man who falls into a vat of dough.

It's not our fault that the Videha family instrument is the banjo.

Moeagare, Gundam!
Moeagare, Gundam!

A wrecked APC sits near the edge of Mewat district. It's wheels and hover engines are melted slag, save a single wheel spinning uselessly in the air. Its cargo, a full squad of House Chola corporate security, lies dead around it and the primary deployment hatch has been blown open with a rocket.

There's a screamed surrender, then a muffled gunshot, inside the vehicle.

A woman exits the APC. She's short, built like an athlete with long, black hair and dark brown skin, and wears a looted Chola armored bodyglove. It doesn't bear thinking about what happened to the former wearer. She's wielding a small arsenal, a gun in each hand, and more in her prehensile hair, which reloads her guns as she walks.

She stops in the middle of the street and cocka her head to the side, as if listening to a conversation that only she can hear. Then, without warning, she sprints into an alley at speeds no human could hope to match.

*

Ravana grins his cockiest grin, flashing slightly-too-long-too-pointy teeth. "Oh, that's great," he says, radiating easy arrogance. "The man who tries to march an entire damn army into a civilian hab offers me the chance to surrender just because I've trashed his advance columns. Bet you wouldn't have offered the same to someone who couldn't fight back."

He leans forwards. Janaka opens his mouth to say something but Ravana interrupts him.

"I'll make you an offer," he says, letting the pretty-boy get a proper look at his face. "Your army's trying your best to kill me even if you're not succeeding, despite the fact I'm giving your men a chance to eject. Now I'm offering the same to you. Punch out. Or I will wreck your face. No one touches these people."

Janaka's visibly shaken, something Ravana said has gotten to him, but he closes his eyes, breathes deeply to steady himself, and raises his blade. "So be it," he says, "I am truly sorry but I have my orders-"

Ravana doesn't wait for him to finish. He leaps forwards, deliberately skids in the marshy ground, throwing dirty water and rotting plant matter and mud all over the pretty clean armour of the enemy mech. The damn thing's three times his height, too tall to spray mud into its optics, but the spray still obscures him from view.

He turns the skid into a neat pirouette and guns the thrusters. The Saraths open fire and dash after him but where Surpanakha feeds him everything he needs to know, he dodges perfectly around streams of plasma and missile fire without so much as slowing down.

He ducks past Janaka's guard and brings one arm around in a roundhouse punch which slams right into the capacitor banks of the particle lance.

He always was good at fighting dirty.

"Please. No. Stop."

The capacitor breaks and the gun begins to strain at the seams as it melts down catastrophically. Janaka manages to fling it into the forest, where the detonation levels trees and sends shrapnel across the battlefield. Ravana's anima flares to life, two arms emerging from the back of his VARG as a halo of white light erupts around him.

"Looks like your House is on the way out, if you're the best they can offer," Ravana taunts. Oh, he's having fun. There's nothing quite like talking the shit out of a rich Dragonblood. He used to do it to Abhas, so he knows all the ways to hit him. "All your expensive schooling, and this's all you can manage? I hope they kept a receipt!"

He grins wider.

"Maybe they might've had better luck if they'd sent someone whose family tree wasn't a plank."

Janaka snarls at Ravana, whose smile promptly widens, reaching from ear to ear. Holy crap, he's good. An incest joke and a wood-blooded joke. That was totally intentional, he's the king of put-downs and piloting. Talking so much shit this kid'll have to take a bath when the fight's over.

"That wasn't deliberate," the voice in his head disagrees. "I don't even know why you bother lying to yourself like this. The only one who hears this is me, and I know you're lying."

Fuck you Surpanakha, that was 100%-oh, shit, incoming.

The Saraths are rocketing towards him, and while Janaka's firing on him with some sort of inbuilt cannon it's an anti-personnel mount, blatantly nothing more than a distraction. They're setting up for something-

"Dragonblooded magic. They'll strike with perfect coordination the moment they get the chance. Don't let them."

Ravana could get used to having a cannibal-demon in his head, he decides.

He watches the Sarath's approach, pretending to close with the ARJUN as he waits. He lets them come closer, closer, as if he didn't even know they were there. Then he smiles all over. Mouths open across the VARG, from smug little smirks, to enormous, salivating maws of joy. He guns his thrusters and reverses, clotheslining both Saraths before they can react. They both buckle from the blow and Ravana wheels on one, new arms growing from his back as he pummels it, bites armored plating off of its torso and head. He kicks it away from the fight, bleeding oil from five places, where the pilot ejects.

"No, no little woody. Let's not involve the peanut gallery. You're who they spent all the money on, after all. So let's do this, you and me. Hand to hand." He brings up his arms, six now, in a mockery of a boxing stance. "Well, Hands to hand."

"How has no-one murdered you in your sleep?"

Janaka doesn't take the insult well. The ARJUN draws its second disruptor blade, charging forwards in a drive Ravana recognizes as the opening to one of Chandra's Mantis Style attacks, albeit with blades larger than his VARG.

He was never very good at countering those.

The other Sarath charges in, hemming Ravana in against the massive warstrider. Ravana has no room to maneuver, heat warnings across his cockpit are screaming at him, he has fractions of a second to react, and, though he loathes to admit it, Janaka's good.

"Piece of fucking cake."

Defend yourself against the Coordinated Attack
[ ] King of All Kings Numen (1.4x 7 motes, ignore all penalties to Parry DV for an action. Roll 7d10X7 to stop people from entering melee against you through sheer sorcerous will. Downside: You create a glowing barrier of power and authority as you stop your enemies with sheer force of will in an incredibly obvious display. Upside: see Downside. Long live the motherfucking king.)
[ ] Invincible Crown Halo (1.3x. 8 motes, gain 7 L/B soak, possibly increasing, for the rest of the scene. Obvious, as you gain a halo of white light that grows as servile mortals witness your glory, protecting you from harm. Similar Upside/Downside to KoAKN)
[ ] Excellency (Write-in, you're defending yourself against up to 5 attacks, 2 from the last Sarath and 3 from Janaka. You can add up to 7 dice from charms to any, but must use a minimum of 4)
[ ] Imperishable Majesty Stance (.9x. 6 motes per parry, Perfect Parry. Obvious, on account of your caste mark glowing with divine might and authority, smashing the attack out of the way or stopping it dead. Similar Upside/Downside to KoAKN)
[ ] None (1.1x You're better than all these motherfuckers!)

So, you're eating a -2 DV penalty from your flurry and a -2 DV penalty because it's a coordinated attack. That gives you a total of -4 against all attacks.

The Sarath is firing off a two-hit flurry with its disruptor blade. That's one attack against your DV-4, and one against your DV -5. It's dicepools are 6d10X7 and 5d10X7, respectively. Stunts included.

The ARJUN is firing off a three-hit flurry with its dual disruptor blades and pumping that shit with excellencies. That's one attack against DV -4, one against -5, and one against -6. The first attack is 17d10X7, the second and third are both 22d10X7. Stunts are included.)

If you pick King of All Kings, Invincible Crown, or Imperishable Majesty on the defense select one of the following:
"What...what the hell are you?
[ ] "A Dalit" (1.2x)
[ ] "The Overman" (1.3x)
[ ] "The Infernal Monster" (1.1x)
[ ] "Supernal" (.9x)
[ ] "God's Chosen" (1.2x)
[ ] Write-In
[ ] Stay Silent (.3x)

Physical Combat Approach!
[ ] Infernal Monster Bonus to Maximum, ORAORAORAORA! (Three hit flurry of 18d10X7 on target of your choice. IMS Physique bonus maxes out at +3, third and final arm is grown.)
->[ ] Hit the ARJUN (1.4x, pick a section to target.)
->[ ] This is a duel between exalts, clear the field! (1.2x.)
-→[ ] Lethally! (-.3x)
[ ] Sword someone (Two hit flurry of 16d10X7 on target of your choice.)
->[ ] Hit the ARJUN (1.2x, pick a section to target.)
->[ ] This is a duel between exalts, clear the field!
-→[ ] Lethally! (-.3x)
[ ] Melee range? Janaka can't dodge now! Fire the Heavy Particle Lance! 1.2x, 15d10X7 to hit. Can add up to six dice with First Theion Excellency. Speed 6, Particle Lance will be recharged on Tick 14. Select a Section of the ARJUN to target)
->[ ] Soften him up first then shoot him! (Three attack flurry. Two punches at 17d10X7 and 16d10X7, particle lance at 12d10X7)

7 Vijayanta class mechs destroyed
37 Sarath class mechs destroyed
41 pilots ejected safely

+2 Physique Dot from Infernal Monster Style, Multiple Action Penalties reduced by 1, 2 arm-pairs manifested, 3-action flurries still benefit from the speed reduction of Infernal Monster Style.
