But you put your pen to paper, and instead start working on this calculus problem about grain silos or whatever. Grain silos aren't cylindrical in real life, you think, but you do it anyway, even if the prompt is dumb and doesn't make sense.

A cylindrical grain silo is to hold a volume of 20π cubic meters. The material used to build the roof and flooring costs 100 dollars per square meter. The material used to build the side structure costs 80 dollars per square meter. Determine the radius and height that will ensure the most cost efficient construction of the silo.

First, from the formula for volume and you managed to figure surface area for both the flooring and the sides, one of which is just the diameter of the cylinder multiplied the height, the other just being the area of two circles. Then, you determine the formula for cost by multiplying the sides and flooring by their actual costs. Simplify. Then you simply derive, simplify again through factoring again before setting the cost to 0 to find the minimal cos-
