Quest Idea Thread

All throughout the continent of Liskaet, the faith of the Good Gods and other faiths have spread far and wide. Worship of Anum Himself has gone throughout the world, and many, many more faiths besides that. The worship of Amaterasu and Anum's other fragments in the four nations. The druids in the Dark Forest who worship Titania and Oberon. Even the few devil worshippers who practice the Ars Goetia of the Hells Below. A thousand other faiths, each with their own subject of worship.

You are a priest, but not a priest of any of these faiths. No, no. You are above such paltry trappings. Your God is beautiful. They are cruel. Uncaring. They are above the comprehension of the races, no more than an ant can comprehend the human about to crush it.

You are a worshipper of the Outer Ones, and this is your story.

Four voices call out to you:

[X] A voice as clear as starlight, a voice that draws constellations in the sky. A voice locked behind the gates, yearning to be unbound. (Deity: Katachi, the Liminal Devourer)

[X] A chorus of voices, as sweet as honey and as slithery as worms. They whisper promises stained in red. "Join us." They say. "Join us and you can live blissfully." And in front of you, you witness a spread of red. Jellied blood, weeping marrows, the brains of rabbits, the guts of wolves. (Deity: The Red Grail)

[X] Another chorus, this one harsh and mechanical. "You should be part of this machine." They say, and their voice is like splintering glass. "It is the right thing to do. It is how things should be." They say, and so you do. (Deity: The Hollow Dreamers)

[X] A chittering skitter of skin, faces emblazoned into it's robe. Quietly, it whispers into your ear. Whispers sweet, horrible things. A tone full of love. A tone full of hate. A tone full of a thousand things and a thousand emotions, some that you have barely felt. Vivacity, alacrity, vitriol, all blending into one. "I would welcome you to the City" it says. (Deity: L'Inconnu)

And then it is done. The pact is sealed. And you are floating in a grand void, and you have seen your face in front of you, and you are yourself but not yourself, because your name has been lost to time. You are lesser. Diminished.

Who are you?

[X] Title (Your Name Has Been Lost)
[X] Gender (Male, Female, Neither)
[X] Appearance
[X] Personality

Hmm, "All Loud on the Eastern Front"

What about a quest in being a Soldier (or Officer) of the Eastern Front of The Great War? There would be Three Countries to choose from: Austria-Hungary, German Empire, and Russian Empire.
Not a history buff, but I can see the potential; being the head of the Russian army as the revolution erupts at home, having to deal with divided loyalties and conflicting orders.

We have a lot of politics people on this site. It's too bad that they don't make more quests. I'd love some historical politician quest beyond stuff like the Soviet Union quest we already get.

Personally I'd love to have a nation quest that's not about the glory of communism like 90% of them on this site.

But that's just part of this being SV.

Like why are there no US Cold War quests?

The closest we have is Magoose's.

One quest I've contemplated to try to get back into writing is an Ars Magica kingdom building quest, specifically one centered on the Amazons. It's just that I'm not really sure I could write it without things getting cringey and/or offensive.

For those unaware, Ars magica is a game set in Mythic Europe, i.e. historical Europe except all the superstitions and legends are true. Disease is caused by demons, there are dragons in the countryside, praying at a shrine to some saint's fingerbone can heal you, and wizards form Covenants in the countryside to study magic and poke the great mysteries of the universe with a stick. The last group is the usual source of player characters, with a group of Magi and their minions running around doing stuff, but there are a number of sourcebooks detailing various hedge magic practitioners, and one of them is the Amazons.

The Amazons, to be clear, are meant to be a villain faction. They're basically misandrist Viking Spartans Klingons, who are either raiding or training for raiding, keep their entire male population as slaves, solve all internal disputes with dueling, with the Queen being whoever led a violent coup against the previous Queen. They absolutely should not work as a society and this bugs me, but at the same time, I'm not really sure a quest about trying to fix this is really worth it, especially since they're located in the Caspian Sea, of all places, and I really don't know enough about the Khwarazmian Empire to be writing about them.

But I still kind of want to. The Amazon Sorceresses, unlike the Magi of the Order of Hermes, are fully integrated into their state, and there's a bunch of holes in their system that would be fun to fill in via research. Also, Pagan Amazons intervening in the Crusades would be funny.

So, thoughts?

You know the funny thing Is, for a time I was really interested in making a quest where we were the brother of Alexander the GReat or one of his Hateroi.

I even tried it once, but I honestly lost interest in it due to me, frankly, failing in my historical research, and getting board because I wanted to do a fun alternate history, rather then... a slavish devotion to Alexanders story. Which it was slowly turning into...

Hell I might do it again, because it was fun.

but honestly, I really want to see more just interesting ideas in general for quests being done.

You could do something with the Wars of the Diadochi. Maybe call it "To The Strongest" which was supposedly what Alexander said when asked who he left his empire to. A lot of interesting conflicts after the empire collapsed.

My advice would be to pick a more interesting setting far more divergence friendly and a way cooler character to be brother too, multiple options preferably. Specifically, japan waring states period and the various famous lords, such as oda nobunaga, date Masamune, takeda shingen, ect.

I'm currently typing up a quest where you play as a strange agent for a organization dedicated to protecting the world from the paranormal
Current options I got for who the questers can be choose to be are

Regenarating biological monstrosity with the collective memores of several special operatives, has removable organs that act like firearms and a bulletproof carapace
A natural sorceress with tons of potential who spent the last 3 decades trapped inside a magical castle thinking they were a chosen one in a magic school, she infuses stuff with her magic to control it
A hideous immortal creature from Germany that can make puppets that are so expressive they can cause sensory overload to that perceive them if used
Ancient egyptian catgirl who got kicked out of her hidden society of fellow catgirls that secretly manipulate multiple governments, with so much skill in manipulation it's almost mind control
