Putting the Craft in Warcraft

[X] Fate Point on Blackrock Mountains
[X] Blasted Lands

I honestly have no idea what arrangement would be best. ...On the other hand let's kill us a lich.

[X] Blasted Lands - Prince Varian and his friends attempt to destroy a lich and save a friend.

I wonder how powerful of a force Wayland has become? He might be quite young for a dragon, but he has still become an Aspect, or at least half an Aspect.

Fuck it, we're a smith we can't fight a bloody undead fuck you dragon. We need to train.

I'm still way back at the beginning of the quest in my readthrough, so maybe this has already been covered but this gave me some ideas I'll forget if I don't write them down
Steel eats magic. That's the best way to describe it. Or rather carbon absorbs the stuff, and iron seems to distribute it. What ends up happening if you push too much magic of any type in is that the stuff violently expels. No injuries thankfully, but it did scare the shit out of you and Joyce.
  1. steel might be useful as a kind of magic capacitor: build up a charge over a little bit of time and then discharge it all at once for a greater magnitude of output than a mage is normally capable of
  2. doping singing metals with carbon might increase enchantability, maybe even bypass thorium's magic resistance
  3. if carbon absorbs magic, diamond studding might actually serve a purpose
  4. test iron to see if it can be used for magical telegraph wires by propagating magic pulses down long long wires of it.
  5. edit: alloys. Of particular interest may be objects starting with one metal on one end and then progressively being alloyed with more and more of another metal until the other end is the 2nd metal

@Lost Star Stromguard should be spelled in the Germanic form Stromgarde.
Thank you! Will get to it in a bit.
What are the rules for Omakes? I'm kind of tempted to write one.
Whatever you like.
@Lost Star So what was Tyrygosa's thoughts on Wayland becoming an aspect and a dragon of a completely new flight?
*Poke* *Poke*
You are my new experimentation subject! *Evil grin*

further crafting ideas for later
  • Use our eye as the basis for a flying scout
  • soulbinding trinkets designed to lock a soul in the body so Fel magic can't yank it out
    • something to prevent reanimation. Preferably a simple, easily imitated design
  • animate receptacle golems/totems for various gods and upper end forces, sort of like what we did for the loa
  • study sympathy magic and how it can be used in enchantment. For instance, a pair of swords bound together, but with seperate resizing enchantments, such that a human sized one can be used to swing around a dragon sized sword
    • or better yet, mass production by allowing a single craftsman to wield a thousand tools at once
  • an artifact designed to crudely and disruptively twist the magic of the Dark Portal back upon itself, while also causing time within to stutter, stopping and starting in fits and bursts. The entire point is to make it ludicrously difficult/lethal to try to cross
  • If Shadow Magic is the Void of Light, or rather the absence of Light, then maybe the same sort of principle could be applied to other styles of magic. Of particular interest is the Void of Fel
  • investigating the possibility of other prosthetics and bodily improvements
  • inviting our old dwarven teacher up so he can see what his student has wrought

I suggest you wait until you catch up before you make suggestions. Also there is no void of fel or any of the other stuff.

actually I had caught up by that point. I'm aware that there's no current tradition of Void of Fel, but the methodology of the Void of Light applied to other magic types might produce interesting results
Shadow magic is weird. The stuff I see says it's either somehow related to void magic or some kind of weird version of light magic.

As for the whole void of other types that's not a thing and never will be a thing. Light only has an opposite because light is the element of creation and void is hte element of destruction.
