Putting the Craft in Warcraft

So I had a pretty awesome idea for the creation that would be the centerpiece of the sensory net/defense. We haven't done much with them but we DO have both pristine dragon scales from each of the flights and access to some really powerful dragons of each color.

[X] Gather together a Pristine Scale and the matching Dragon.
-[X] Have the gathered Dragons use their breath into our fires and forge the each scale into a single, separate flower petal.
[X] Use however much of our stores of Arcanite as needed to craft a perfect flower in which the petals can be attached to.
-[X] Make use of the Arcanite Miracle to transmute the flower into Living Steel.
--[X] Use our proficiency in scrying in the creation of our eye and combine it with the natural connection Living Steel has to Nature to have the Elements themselves extend the scrying grid across the land, reacting to the corrupting and threatening influence of the unnatural undead.
---[X] Make use of the connection formed by the Petals to allow any of the five flights to easily tap into the grid and Know where threats are.

And we could either make another arcane gem to place in the center of the flower to finish it, or do the more dramatic and awesome thing of ripping our Everseeing Eye out to finish and overpower the grid. With the right enchantments and arrays we can also see about getting it to be a reactive defense in using elementals ala binding some into the flower like with the ones bound into our forge or inciting them to fight the corruption of the dead.

Plant the completed flower on the very top part of the temple.

Wanted to make the creation of it into an omake, but just can't get myself to do it.

Edit: The idea of this just sounds a lot like Sauron's Eye, what with it being on the tallest place in the land and all. Maybe this gets named Wayland's Eye? Because it gets the enchantments to see magic and whatnot that our eye did?

@Berserkslash Um two problems with your idea... First we used the scales on the ring, so we don't have those anymore. Second, we don't have any idea that Living Steel is a thing, much less how to make it.

[X] Sensory Net

Maybe we could go with a Dresden (The Dresden Files) style constantly updating real time magical map, that would be pretty damn awesome.

So instead of Little Chicago we'll have... Little Azeroth? No that's too big, but it's already too late to make a little Northrend with all these undead scurrying around.

Could Sensory Net be combined with some sort of communications network?
So everyone would know all the details of where the Scourge are, even as they head out to fight.

[X] Sensory Net

It was a large project. Made of what was becoming a signature style of Wayland. It involved each of the dragonshrines, and the magics intertwined between them. The man personally walked between each shrine, and made the proper inscriptions and annotations. Using the magics favored by each dragonflight blended together seamlessly.

The basic concept was actually fairly simple. It was a detection grid essentially. There were simple arcane wards that detected intruders that did the same thing in a small area. None of them were used to cover such a wide amount of ground. The power requirements alone would have staggered the aspect of magic himself.

So how did Wayland do it? The dragonshrines were the pillars for it in one sense. They were the primary points of reference and a source of power for the entire thing. Not the sum total of the power, but channels and grounds for the entire creation.

The real core that made it possible was the blending of magics.

Arcane provided the intelligence. Allowing the entire device to identify the things inside the boundaries. It saw the colors and the magics of the world and brought them into vivid detail. But it was easily tricked and misdirected.

The Light provided the direction. Out of all the arts, it was most opposed to Necromancy and tainted things. Anything that met that definition was immediately identified. Furthermore it was almost trivially easy to track them on it.

Shamanism was the base. It allowed the device to detect across such a wide area. It listened to the earth and the winds themselves. The spirits whispered too. Grateful for protection it and the dragons gave. Grateful for the defense against the monstrous things that the scourge defined.

Druidism might have been the odd one out. Yet even this contributed. It detected the subtle things. The attempts to circumvent the device. It allowed the device to grow and change if necessary. Each day it was slightly different. Better at it's task in monitoring the world around it. Making Dragonblight safer.

There were other contributions as well. The Nerubian libraries provided vital information about the lands below Dragonblight. There would be no surprises from underground. A vital point that might have been missed otherwise.

The device was grounded in the tower of Dragonblight. In the middle floor, and as secured as the flights could make it. Though calling it a device didn't do it justice.

The entire middle floor was covered in it. Arcane arrays carved in wood and bone covered the floor. Threads of arcane magic woven into webs adorned the ceiling. All of it glittered and glowed with power. And in the center of it all was an illusion almost lifelike in it's reality.

This illusion showed the entire dragonblight. The hills and valleys. It showed the dragons in the sky, and the things burrowing under the earth. It heard the whispers of the spirits and let another hear them as well. With but a touch and a gesture, the illusion could focus and contact people inside the area. If the director was sufficiently powerful, they could even call a few elementals and direct them through the illusion alone.

There was nothing like it in the world.

With it, the dragons were able to secure dragonflight and send out raids against the Scourge throughout the entire war. Only in Icecrown did they find themselves secured. Outside it, the Scourge found that they always had to watch the skies.

People called it the Divine Eye. A masterpiece of arcane knowledge and mystical might that Malegos himself could find no fault in.

The Scourge did not lose when it was finished, but they found it a thorn in their side for the entirety of their existence. So long as the eye could see the world, the Dragonblight was considered the realm of the dragons.

A needed sanctuary for the hell ahead.

Scourge Campaign end.

Finally Tally:

Northrend is considered 'Scourge' territory, but only Icecrown is truely secured.
Drakkari trolls are now under the Banner of the Scourge.
Earthen are preventing access to titan tech.
Dragonflights have denied half the continent.
Alliance and Horde are alerted to the issue. Will have to re-establish beachheads.
Spirits and elementals will not answer Scourge call, and will actively hinder when they can.
Tuskarr are providing support to those around.
Children of the Sun and Moon have no beachhead, but know of the issue.
Nerubian Empire is destroyed, but survivors exist.

Alliance Campaign beginning. Scourge have begun to march south. (Frost wyrms been denied to their due to previous victories.)

[]Choose interlude.

So can I convince others to go with my vote?
As the Alliance campaign is starting, I figure we start with Varian, and then when the other ones come along we pick interludes focusing on someone related to that faction.

Is it too late to start working on an immortality machine? Cause I really want one of those...

Oh and sure, why not:

[X] Varian Wrynn and his fiancée

The dragonflights are denying half the continent? wow, I didn't know that the Divine Eye had that much range, this is pretty awesome. It's a good thing that Wayland's home is secured after all.

Wow. I mean yeah, that's a pretty bad situation for everyone but the Scourge and maybe the Dragonflights, but compared to how it would have gone without Chromie's little nudge this is amazing.

As incredible as the Divine Eye is now the fact that it will become even better over time by itself is the part I find most impressive.
