Puella Magica Somniabunt Sanguinis [PMMM/Bloodborne]

Most of it, but some of it has been edited to make it (by great one standards) child friendly. So things like the true nature of the Hunter's nightmare or the Ritual of Mensis were glossed over, and the story of Father Gascoigne's children has been hidden entirely. Arthur has also been recast as slightly less jolly and more misguided and blood/generally crazy.

to kill some time while I'm on the train, I've threadmarked all the waffling and question answering I've done in the infoformative index.
Speaking of;
(In this canon, this is what happened to Rom. He burnt out his mind experimenting with his power, leaving him like the gatekeeper, a barely sentient husk with only the duty to keep the Ritual of Mensis hidden keeping him from just lying down to sleep forever in his Lake-dream.)
IIRC Rom was female, but I don't remember where that information came from.

Child of Blood - pt. 7
This place might have been designed by a being of almost infinite knowledge and power, but you weren't entirely sure about Her taste in interior design.

The pendulum was one thing, you could understand the appeal in big, complicated bits of machinery, even if you much preferred a nice quiet garden yourself. it wasn't even that there was too much clock symbolism, this was practically barebones compared to the great gothic clock tower that Papa placed atop Mama's castle to act as a door to your garden.

The walls were a very different matter. The dissonance of blinding brightness and the cool, dusty feel of the room, without even the scintillating crackle of plasmic energies that you might find from the writhing illumination of a Darkbeast, was making your everything ache.

You flop on one of the couches scattered across the room, closing your eyes to try to stop the feeling of the room being simultaneously too hot and too cold from making your head spin.

"Are you alright?"

A voice comes from above you, as well as a puff of blessed moisture, hot and damp against your exterior. You squirm, catlike, as it tickles over you, making you want to unwind and lap up every drop of steam.

You don't though, because that would be rude. You're a guest, and you should attempt to act with some propriety, no matter how tempting it might be to act otherwise.

One of your eyes peeks open, red and dilated from all the lovely textures that your Host's home contains. This couch is nice enough that it makes enduring the disorienting walls almost worth it.

"Mmm, walls just made me a bit dizzy, thassall. Too bright, not warm enough. Whassat you've got there?"

Your thoughts are slow and sluggish, sitting heavy in your head like sap in winter. You have to concentrate to keep your words from flowing together, the fine tendrils in your throat and tongue becoming clumsy.

"Food. Are you hungry?"

Once again, you are thankful for your lack of internal organs, because if you had a stomach you're certain it would have made a very unladylike grumble at the mention of food.

You might have eaten earlier, but you were a growing flower, and your fingertips nearest the source of that wonderful steam unwound and began to wave lazily, tasting the air for what She held in her hands.

You could have just sat up and looked, you suppose, but that would have required effort, and you were far too comfy where you were.

"Smells...interesting...what is it?"

"What? You've never had...right, should've expected that. No offence, but...what even are you?"

"Great One, sure I said that. Jus' a small one."

You can practically feel her eyes roll, sending a cold shiver through you that brings you back to yourself a little.

"Yes, but what is a Great One, other than something with Magic?"

The question puzzles you for a moment, as you try to stretch your frames of reference to see her point of view. It's a little like the neural pruning you need to do to keep the walls from making you so dizzy again, except harder because thoughts are a lot less malleable than your tendrils.

"...whatever the Great One wants...really. When I was really small, I was a little moon, just like Papa, then when he was visiting Mama, I fell into a garden, and it was really pretty, so I made myself into a flower."

"..."

You look up, and Homura has that glassy look on her face that you were becoming more familiar with, her thoughts hidden from any polite inquiry.

"Are...are you even human?"

You puff up with pride, or at least, puff up to the limit your position, sprawled across what must be the single comfiest surface in this leech-ravaged world. That was one question that you could answer with confidence at least.

"Mama and Papa were *both* human, if they weren't, I wouldn't be able to keep myself nearly as pretty. I'm as human as I want to be, I just remember a bit better than some other Great Ones what it's like."

You fall quiet, the open wound of your loss making draining away your cosy happiness like an opened vein. Homura too, aware that she has just poked something rather sensitive, ceases that particular line of inquiry.

She sits down next to you, stirring disinterestedly at the pot in her hands, sending little draughts of fragrant vapour over you, making some of your tendrils shiver in delight.

Your eyes meet, your own crimson and half-lidded with fatigue and vegetal appetites, hers like a iced over pond in the sun, cold control slowly weakening, revealing the murk of confusion and exhaustion beneath.

She flicks an eye towards her slowly cooling cup of delicious, savoury...things, expressing both disinterest in the contents and an offer to you in a single elegant moment. Maybe one day, when you are old and wise and have adorable little flowers of your own, you will have a measure of that grace. Today, however, you are hungry.

You pull it towards you, and thoughts of elegance and propriety discarded in favour of appetite, you descend upon the cup.

She looks with detached interest as your tongue extends and branches into the cup, letting you drain away the succulent liquid like a flowery mosquito, leaving the bland, limp remnants lying dejected in the bottom of the cup.

The warmth of the liquid began to spread through you, the cosiness reasserting itself. You think you would have happily dozed off if Homura's voice hadn't cut through the warm fog that filled your mind.

"Do you need to hunt?"

The word hunt has an interesting effect on you.

Given your lineage, and all the echoes infused into your creation, that should not be particularly surprising. For a moment, it is as if you'd just ran into that crackling mace Papa kept in his workshop, a sense of tingly energy filling you to your furthest extremities.

Then you think her question over. In specific, one particular word of it. Need. Great Ones may like to hunt, or want to hunt, if their blood ran a little hotter, but need?

Then you remembered that short, morbid conversation you had earlier, and realised just what you were being asked.

Are you going to lose your mind if you don't hunt?

"No, no I'm fine. Just a little tired. You don't have the right sort of moonlight here."

"...ok then. I have things I need to do. Will you be alright on your own?"

"Can I help?"

You suspect that it was the last thing that your Host was expecting to here. From how she shivered at your touch last night, you suspect that offers of company of any sort had not been common before you had arrived. There was a little proud fire inside you from being able to offer this little bit of help.

"I'm just going to be keeping an eye on someone. Nothing interesting."

"Homura, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a plant. I am very good at staying still in one place for a long time."

"...alright, I suppose. But you should try to look a bit more like a magical girl. Not everyone will stand by and wait for you to tell them that you aren't some sort of monster."

You give a mumbled, grudging assent to that, though you internally maintain that nobody who hasn't had their brain nibbled on by white-furred vermin could fail to see how utterly adorable you are.

"Do you have a transformation or something else that makes you look less like a delinquent shrine maiden?"

"Transformation?"

"Like-"

There is a flare of violet magic, unmistakably Homura in its essence, though it is intense enough to blind you to what occurs within until She emerges from it, now dressed in an elegantly angular uniform in white with hints of purple.

You hide your cheeks behind your hands when you see that it ended barely past her hips, finding yourself scandalised and intrigued in almost equal measure. You were supposed to make a version of that for yourself?

"-this."

You swallow. This was going to be interesting, you could tell.

It's time to pick a costume and a weapon, SV.
Are you a Noble, a Knight, or something else entirely?

Plant Bow might freak Homura out a tiny bit, since that was Madokes? I think.

We could probably do vines and hand to hand though, and that'd be visually impressive.
Check the Kos Parasite on the weapons page. It does a decent impression on vine-fu, as well as being especially appropriate sinceRuby has the Milkweed Rune.

I was thinking we need to go for style points and also Cainhurst Castle of course. Reiterpallasch is also supposed to be decent with other offhand items. I was thinking Evelyn but two guns might not be needed, open to change though. If we could make a plant version of A Call Beyond and the Augur spell that would be nice.
Check the character sheet at the start, Ruby comes with a fully functional version of Augur of Ebritas as part of her basic biology. A call beyond is a bit above her power level though.

The Bloodborne part is that when we punch our hand into them it comes off and uncoils through their body. :V

Cause I want our tricorn hat at some point! ...Rakuyo is basically serious-mode I figure.

Anyway, is this fine, or did you want an actual armor and weapon selected from the lists? I was a little unsure on that.

ShadowAngelBeta's idea is perfect. Don't know how to post pictures so look for Rosetale in the other posts. I vote for that being her look. As for weapons, Rakuyo for short range and plantlike tentacles able to fire telekinetec blasts for long range maybe? Kos's parasite seems a bit unwieldy, so I'm thinking several thinner plantlike versions.

I chose Maria's set because it looks great and has a spiffy hat (and even has a place for the "Soul Gem" as well!), and I chose the bowblade because it's really, really versatile and doesn't require a gun as ranged backup (and its appearance is a nice combo of cool and downright strange). Of course, she'd still be able to use her Great One abilities if she wanted to, this is just for "blending in" as a magical girl.

The flower princess dress looks quite nice, but I think it offends Ruby's sensibilities a little too much.

[Jk] Mensis cage set.:V

More seriously I like Maria's set or the knights the most. For weapons there are a few we could go for that would fit. Simon's bowblade would be cool too, I don't think Homura would freak out as badly as suggested. But ShadowAngelBeta's plan also works.

The dress, as shown in the art, is kinda skimpy. Low cut, open skirt to show off the legs, etc. Ruby was somewhat scandalized by Homura's magical girl outfit, so she'd probably not wear something that can show off more.

Actually, speaking of that scene..
You hide your hands behind your cheeks when you see that it ended barely past her hips
Origami, I think you meant "hide your cheeks behind your hands," unless weird Great One biology is in play.

I have a new goal. Keep Ruby totally oblivious to the fact Homura is a human until the very end of the quest, or even until its end.

Going with Shadow's plan with this one. Also, @TotalTemplar03 , how is that dress skimpy? It shows off a bit of leg and the shoulders, but nothing else.
